I just noticed this one today, Cignal has converted the ESPN from upscaled to HD Format!!! WOW! Its just plain WOW!

....

They showed the hungarian f1 yesterday, simultaneous with the usual starworld brodcast.  The PQ is indeed better than the upscaled broadcast (of starworld).  After the hungarian F1, next naman yung british open.  It is being broadcast simultaneously at espn 1080i (the old upconverted channel).  Tama ka jupacabra... WOW! Dati satisfied na ko dun sa upconverted broadcast ng ESPN but comparing the read HD broadcast of ESPN HD parang pumangit yung upconverted version.  Details of the grass, trees, lakes, sand are just better and life like. Smiley

My subscription is prepaid, testing lang if service will improve.  If they keep this up, I will commit long term with a post paid subscription Smiley

i have been using cignal for almost a year now and compared to sky, my old provider, cignal's much better in terms of picture/signal quality. as far as the hd channels i wish they would offer more in the future.  Smiley

One thing to watch out for, their warranty does not cover "acts of god" incidences. i had to pay 800 to have my cignal back on after the last typhoon.  Sad


i was just about to rant on this.. wala kasi akong cignal, yun pala na mis align...

no way im shelling out 800.

pwede kaya sila takutin? meaning.. since walang service, why should i pay monthly?... i mean, as long as im paying monthly, the maintenance should be covered.

That's too bad.  Ako, pag may problem tinatawagan ko diretso yung nag service samin dati.  They are just within the neighborhood so madali magrespond. 

Depende siguro sa kausap.  Hindi ko nabasa yung warranty pero kung naka specify pala na hindi covered yung "acts of GOD" e they have grounds to charge, technically...although syempre para sa ating subscriber it sounds wrong.  Maganda siguro tawagan nyo na lang diretso yung nag service, baka pwede "minimal" cost na lang yun.

yup.. ganun na nga sir, hinahanap ko yung nag subcon.. kasi natandaan ko is when they install, they get around 100 pesos per installation lang, and kung re align, they get 50 pesos... ill give them 200 if they would realign my dish... pero di ko makita number e

ganun din sa min, 800 ang binayad ng wife ko and additional 550 sa replaced adaptor, misaligned daw ang dish. Sad

Cignal now has the following true HD (1080i) channels:
HBO HD
Star Movies HD
Nat Geo HD
History Channel
ESPN HD

The HD quality is superb! Those of us who have HD TV's but not connected to Cignal don't know what they are missing!

actually nagpayos ako kahapon sir and i paid 800 for the realignment, kinuha ko na lang yung number nung gumawa, texted him already and he will be here again tomorrow to fix.  Smiley

Since you guys now are a Satellite broadcast subscriber na you might as well learn how to align your Satellite dish. It's quite simple and am sure na any Hometheater/electronic enthusiast will find it easy to tinker about.    Try browsing FILSAT.COM...enjoy.

Since you guys now are a Satellite broadcast subscriber na you might as well learn how to align your Satellite dish. It's quite simple and am sure na any Hometheater/electronic enthusiast will find it easy to tinker about.    Try browsing FILSAT.COM...enjoy.
i agree with this.. but digital re alignment is a pain, a slight movement/misalignment drops the signal, not to mention the hassle of climbing up the roof and the rain.

but then again, if i do have an extra help, diy is the best

yup yup sir, i agree, it's not so difficult to point out your dish to receive transmission, kaya lang sir ang taas nung location nung installation ng dish namin sa bahay, nakadikit sa firewall,   Cheesy , walang gamit para umakyat, kaya by all means tatawag pa din sa installer,hehe.

Though I have been hearing plenty of complaints about the signal when its raining,
Too bad at malayo pa ang HD sa cable bradcast namin dito sa Nueva Ecija,...  Huh

That "rain" thing is not so bad.  Signal goes out when the rain is really really hard, as in heavy downpour. Ordinary heavy rain can't knock the signal out (my experience).  Also, it only goes away briefly, 1-5 minutes if and when it goes out.  Typhoon tested na din yun installation sa amin, it survived a good hammering of the last typhoon Smiley We have it installed in between our wall and the neighbors firewall.

AFAIK, cignal is nationwide.  I've a feeling nueva ejica is covered, Bulacan and Laguna is.

I just had the unit installed sa bahay. Badtrip lang kasi I called them for an availment of subscription last August 3, ang scheduled install ay August 7, 2010 pero walang dumating. It cost me pa 150++ bucks para lang mag follow up sa hotline # nila.

Iniwan ko sa bahay kanina yung unit while it waits to be activated. Malalaman ko mamaya paguwi ko kung maganda ba talaga ang quality. Though yung quality ng TV5 ay mas maganda compared sa TV5 ng SkyCable.

check your condo if they would allow sir, alam ko kasi madaming restrictions ang condo, anyways.. line of sight lang ang kelangan ng signal facing southwest ata if im not mistaken (ns11 satelitte)... yan yung dapat mong itanong if pwede. .. you can put it sa balcony if you want, as long as its facing the satellite

Hi we live in Cavite and had Cignal standard definition (SD) for more than a year now.  Definitely the picture quality of Cignal SD is far better than the SD of other cable networks (Sky, etc.).  Cignal is the satellite tv network of the PLDT/Metro Pacific group (much bigger company than the owners of other cable companies), so expect many big things to happen that will improve their service.  

Cignal TV is highly recommended!!! Try na kayo!!!

Sir Paul my cignal hd is installed today and my application date is only 2 days ago. I recommend you call them instead for faster response. Im satisfied with the hd quality of the channels. The picture is very clear and looks almost bluray. The audio is very nice also but is only stereo. I hooked the audio to my harman kardon receiver and yes the audio is superb.
