Sanyo Vizon 42" CA9S LCD is going for 29K at SM appliance center promo in Megatrade Hall at SM Megamall. They also had 37" for 27K, pero ubos na daw.
Ipe-phase out na daw kasi (Jan 2009 line daw, na na-supersede ng April 2009 line), so they dropped the price really really low, and from the looks of it, they've gone really, really fast; they only started last Oct 24, naubos na yung lower sizes, and 20 na lang daw yung 42".
I don't know how this series performs compared to others, and can't seem to find reviews, but the videos they were showing (traliers of GI Joe and Toward the Terra) looked pretty darn good.

In case anybody want a cheap, non-famous 32" LCD TV, I saw the "OVATION" brand at PC Option Gilmore selling at php16,900+ price. This is the cheapest that I have seen. And they have a unit on display and running, with an Xtreamer connected to it. It has 1 year warranty on it. You might want to check it out.

Nope some only supports upto 85Hz.
Anyway, as per my reading refresh rate does not apply to LCDs. The equivalent of a refresh rate on an LCD monitor is the frame rate, which is usually set as 60 Hz.
The technology used in LCDs like 120Hz is actually a frame rate and doubles the standard LCD frame rate which will have an effect of Motion interpolation.
The LCD feature of xxxHz is not a refresh rate but a frame rate and technicall called Motion interpolation.

Php 160,000,for a 65" Sharp LCD, this seems hard to believe. But certainly a possibility if you bought it in the US and have it shipped here. AFAIK, the biggest Sharp LCD sold or available locally is a 52" (LC-52A77M) @ Php 169,998.00

40k nalang po sa pasay road? I just asked for the price of 42c10 and they can give it to me at 42,000..I talked to a guy by phone (i forgot the name)last sunday, ang sabi ko kasi kakukuha ko lang ng 32c10 (megamall), at meron me (western privilage card) then kukuha uli me by cash before xmas. ang sabi kasi sa akin meron pa silang new stock (4 available) for 40K kung daanan ko agad. Sir ipagpaliban mo, just wait for a couple of weeks baka bumaba yan sa 37 to 39K. Yan mimso ang sinabi ng friend kong sales agent. :D :D

Sir are you sure its LF20 and not LH20? Ang alam ko kasi yung naka buy 1 take 1 nila for that price is 42lh20. Kung LF20, very good price na yan. Even the LH70 at 55k is pretty good.

Actually, kaya mura ay display unit daw ito at meron minor scratches. Yung nakuha ko ay wala ako makita na scratches kaya buy agad ako. Kaya rin malakas ang loob ko eh meron 1 year manufacturer's warranty, unlike grey market TV.
Try ko i-program yung cable TV channel mamaya then post ako pictures.

Yung quoted na 350W power consumption ng plasma natin ay "maximum". When we say maximum, ibig sabihin nun yung panel natin ay nagdidisplay ng full white image at the brightest setting. Kasi ang power consumption ng Plasma panel ay depende sa brighness ng image na idinidisplay nya. Imagine a Plasma panel as hundreds of thousands of individual light bulbs laid side by side in a flat square surface, each bulb will consume certain amount of power depende kung dim lang or full bright ang sindi nya. So if you watch snowy or summer beach, your plasma will consume more power as compared to watching Batman movies na puro madilim ang eksena. The varied dark and bright scenes we normally watch in our panel will average to less than the rated 350W power consumption, probably only half that amount only.
For LCD, power consumption is almost constant because the backlight remains on all the time irregardless of the scene being displayed. The liquid crystals merely blocks or unblocks the light coming from the backlight to produce bright and dim images.
In conclusion, you will not experince an increase in power consumption if you switch from your 200W CRT TV to the plasma tv. Baka nga mas makatipid kapa ng konti eh... :) :

Is the new X20 a successor to the X10 (the one like the C10, but with a better anti-glare filter)? We currently own a C10. I checked sir Carlo777's review of the A2. Looks like PQ was compromised in favor of power consumption. So I'm steering clear of the A2. How does the X20 compare to the C10? I was planning on getting a C10 again, but it feels odd buying the same TV again. Gusto ko naman maiba kahit model lang.
Looks like a good time for me to buy another TV.

I will go for 37LD460 full HD. 37" is definitely a wow factor since it is much bigger than 32". Also since it's a full hd, the picture presentation will be much better than hd ready TV, especially when TV is displayed with still picture--jpeg, graphic web page, game graphics, etc.

the oversized plasma was priced at 56k with free 32LD460, not bad.
Their Toshiba 32AV700 was priced at 23k something with free dvd, I told them that one store in Shangri-La sells it for 19k cash minus the dvd player. Then the man said, "Kasi sir samin sigurado kayo na straight from the manufacturer, authorized dealer kami, sure kayo sa warranty. Dun sa ibang store hindi kayo sigurado dun."----nako lagi na lang ganito naririnig kong dahilan pag mas mahal ang paninda ng mga av stores. I walked out of the store the moment I heard it.
pero in fairness, 25k ung 32LD460 sa kanila, kung malapit lang din naman location sa alabang, mukang mas convenient bumili dun. Sana lang me discount pa sila sa mga bundles nila. the HT805pm that they are selling is, i think, same price with SNS.

Since you mention the dead pixel, in my case i dont know if itsa dead pixel every time i change a channel.
Theres something that goes black sa lower left portion of the screen. Is that a dead pixel maybe you can schedule me for a visit to check it and also i have problems with regards to my cable programming, puro local channels lang ang lumalabas wala yung cable channels tapos pag manual scan mo yung cable channels, hindi ganun kalinaw. Can you please help me with my dilemma. Just my got my panny from you store 2 weeks ago.

Yes, we can do installation on the latter date. There's no time limit. However, installation now for LG is with charge of P999.

All the LD460 series either 32, 37, or 42" has USB that can play movies straight from a HDD.
We regret we do not have aerial antenna. Nevertheless, please be informed that LCD TV may not present good picture on TV broadcast, especially on aerial reception. You need a digital box that enhances or boosts the TV signal to deliver quality picture.
Perhaps, you may have to consider the Toshiba 32AV700. The 32AV700 at P19K has built-in auto signal booster. This feature will definitely bring better picture quality to your TV viewing than those LCD TV with no booster. :)

Visited SnS this afternoon and saw for myself the LG 32LE5500 and met Vic. Was really there to take a look at the LG 32LD460 and the Sony EX400 but after seeing the 5500, am now having 2nd thoughts. Didn't expect an LED w/ Full HD at the 30k+ range.
Question is, is the 5500 FULL HD as in 1080p or HD Ready as in 720p and will the 32LE5400 be available as well? From the LG Philippines website, its kinda confusing listing this as a Full HD but w/ a resolution of 1360x768. Which is which?

nagpunta ako kahapon sa Abenson para mag canvas nito, at dinala ko yung WD 500GB external drive ko, bakit po hindi daw supported yung 1080p na movie ko na MKV. at sabi ba naman sakin ng sales rep di daw talaga magpaplay ang 1080p sa LD460 kasi para na rin daw TINANGGALAN NG PURPOSE YUNG BLUE RAY DISC. kaya 720p lang daw ang pwede sa USB nya.

Old model like 42X10 and 42C10 are not as reflective as the new models. You may want to consider the old models. :D
C10 and x10 are 2009 models.
A lot of Tvs outhere sold in malls are not latest models. But it doesnt mean they are not good or worse. I would take an obsolete pioneer kuro over these latest models anyday.

Just arrived from Singapore. Was able to window shop at Sg's electronics retailers (Harvey Norman, Challenger, Courts, etc), and was surprised at the prices of LCD and plasma TV's on sale. More than 30% ang baba compared to prices here.
For example, saw a 40" Sharp Quattron there retailing for only SGD 1,299 (Php 1 = SGD 33.4). And a Samsung 46" 3D LED TV for only SGD 1,899.
Was almost tempted to buy one kaya lang problema ko kung paano ipa-ship sa Pinas. Some Pinoys who work there said na punta daw ako sa Lucky Plaza (Orchard Road), at may nagsi-ship daw via Balikbayan boxes, pero problema ko din kung paano dalhin yung TV papuntang Lucky Plaza, hehehe.

I want to ask, now that LG has released the LV5500 series--if the LG 42 LV5500 has features that are up to par or better than Toshiba XL 700.
Pricewise, it seems the newly released LG LV5500 will be more expensive than the XL700.

still, i strongly considered the plasma versions, but the units i saw on SM Appliance Baguio, all of them had jaggies on the edges of sharp objects in the picture. and i can clearly see the pixels in them when i get close enough. are all plasmas like this or did the store intentionally put out a horrid selection of plasma tvs in order to sell more LED backlit ones?

if you ask me,dont push your luck. 2 new units is what i got and both had the same issue. serial numbers are off by 100 so its not of the same batch i guess. mahirap na.
I have a friend who has an LG 42" Plasma can't remember the model but I think it's 42PJ or PT350, something like that.
It's a 42" 720p resolution plasmas and I agree plasmas PQ are okay but because it's a 720p, you can really see the jaggies, especially when you turn on the menu/home. The lines, especially diagonal ones, are really jagged, unlike in a 1080p TV where the lines are much smoother.
But they are correct in saying kung mga 6 feet or more and viewing distance mo, di mo na masyado mapapansin yan.

currently, i am now looking for a good 40' plasma as heat should not be a problem here (in baguio) and we use our tv for 1 movie and then turn it off immediately anyway so we're not expecting a big spike in electric bill as well.

the 42LK450 is 180w plus it's Full-HD.
But yeah, relatively, 180w and 200w isn't that big a difference.

Advise naman mga gurus, I'm very tempted to buy a 42" LED or Plasma TV, a Panasonic, though wala pang particular model. Budget is not an issue at the moment. However, meron pa akong fully functioning 32" Panasonic LCD I bought way back 2007 (from SnS) so walang urgency to get another one. My question is, what month is the best time to buy such item? Apprehensive ako to buy this December kasi napapansin ko maraming electronic gadgets tumaas presyo. But does the same trend apply to flat panel TVs? Kung hindi December ang best month to buy a TV, when po? Thanks a lot! (Aside from gusto ko value for money, ayaw ko ding biglang bagsak presyo ang nabili ko a month or so after buying it).

Mga gurus im planning to buy a 50 incher plasma and i saw my prospect on The Brick. Dito sa Alberta,CA mura lang big screens like this. LG 50pv400 model nya and i've read some positive reviews about it. Bale $598 + 5% GST and 3% environment fee sya so lumalabas around $653x42 = P27400 lang sya.Plasma pa rin ang the best PQ specially sa mga big sizes tv's. If u are more into sports, panalo pa rin ang plasmas.

Although Full array Samsung 40EH5000 is now comparable to plasma light intensity (almost same brightness as the plasma), the EH TV still cannot capture the kind of rich color and natural contrast of the plasma, especially of the Panasonic VT30 Neo plasma TV. The contrast simply provides greater depth of field to the image presentation. You get to enjoy the cinema experience when watching plasma. :)

If i recall right, 32" HDTVs in 2005 was 60T for the cheapest. It was down to 30T in 2008, and 15T in 2012. It looks like every 3-4 years, prices are getting halved. So by 2016, a 32 incher could be just 7T. That would be the right price for most low income groups to save up for just in time for the NTC mandate for TV broadcast to go totally digital by Dec 31, 2015 and render all CRT TVs useless. ;D
When you say digital TV, you need a subscription for it right? So yung mga naka aerial antenna who gets local channels for free will not be able to watch TV anymore. Kaya yung ayaw magbayad ng monthly subscription magtatap nalang. Kaya ba yun?
Thanks sir av_phile1 for the reply. Apparently some people were of the same mind. The toshiba was no longer there the last time I look. But I'm really glad even this far away from Metro Manila, we can still find very good deals for tv's. This same store in Baguio was where I also bought my panasonic c10 for 34k when our resident sellers here in PDVD were selling the same unit for some 39k pesos.
Maybe they'll spring a surprise once again and suddenly bring in the pana st50 this year.

When I tested using a movie on USB, the colors were normal.
1. How do you characterize over-saturated? Can this be adjusted in the settings?

the blues and reds seems exaggerated. I guess they can be adjusted in the settings. try checking 32" models of other brands. though I don't think you'll find them at that low a price.

IMHO i like the picture of Toshiba against Philips plus it is 5" bigger and a direct-lit led, cons is limited connections. This will be my future upgrade if it's still around next year. Happy hunting!

Thank you Sir but how about screen quality? Ive heard that PVA panels of Samsung/Sony have deeper blacks. I am torn with LG also for having larger screen but a bit worried if PVA's have better picture quality.
If concerned with deeper blacks, take a chance with the samsung Plasma (H5000) if you can find any at any store.
32K will give you 50" of screen, deeper blacks, and better overall PQ.

I had an audition with the Sony and LG but Sony gives me the better picture, ewan ko lang kung sinabotahe lang si LG kasi wala dun yung sales person nya. Hehe. Anyway, herr are the things that make me choose specific models of every brands, will only go for Sony because of having better picture qualitt and the screen mirroring, LG for extra 2" but not really sure if its IPS panel is better, Samsung for same picture quality with Sony but better design bukod sa mas recommended sya ng mga friends ko. Motionflow XR 800 Hz (for Philippine Motionflow XR 960 Hz). This is motion interpolation. Iba-iba tawag ng bawat brand dito like for Samsung, it is Clear Motion Rate.
For panel refresh rate, it's either 60Hz or 120Hz. The W800C has the 120Hz panel.
