Got interested in this when I read Alan Ball and Greg Yaitanes were part of it. Episode 1 was fun. It's nothing new. It's your typical Cinemax B-movie type show but it is fun. It's the characters that sucked me in. A hairdresser slash hacker, an Amish gangster and Russians. Oh, and there's nudity on top of that. And judging from the 1st episode, there's going to be lots of them. They've got a few good looking women on there.

The Amish girl (Lili Simmons) appeared in the second episode of True Detective as Beth, an underage prostitute in a "bunny-house". I didn't recognize her right away, she had her clothes on. >:D
Lili Simmons also appeared recently in Hawaii Five-0, in a possible recurring role as Scott Caan's love interest.

The short episode order is taking its toll in the show's pacing, with all these new characters being introduced and the main cast having fewer scenes--Hood spent the entire episode in a jail cell, and Sugar doesn't even appear in the episode; even more puzzling is Ryann Shane, who's always billed in each episode and never appears, LOL. Hope they make up for it during the last half of the season.

It was a good, if somewhat subdued series finale, with Hood exiting Banshee as he entered, and every plotline got some kind of closure. The short episode order hurt this season a bit, and the 18-month time jump was ridiculous (so nothing majorly bad happened while Hood was living as a hermit in the woods?).
With an episode title like "Requiem," I was expecting a large death toll but I was glad that everyone made it out alive, and the title was actually for Kai Proctor and Burton, who I always thought was based on Mr. Burns and Smithers from The Simpsons:

Some Banshee stars have moved on to upcoming new shows:
- Antony Starr (Lucas Hood) is set to appear as one of the leads in this fall's American Gothic on CBS
- Lili Simmons (Rebecca Bowman) still has a recurring guest role on Hawaii Five-0 and will also be seen in the upcoming HBO series, Westworld
- Frankie Faison (Sugar Bates) has joined the cast of Marvel's Luke Cage on Netflix and will play Pop, the barber shop owner and possibly Luke's estranged father
- Tom Pelphrey (Deputy Kurt Bunker) will play Ward Meachum, one of the main villains in Marvel's Iron Fist on Netflix
