True Detective is a crime drama anthology series, with each season featuring a different cast of characters and overall plotline. The first season features two detectives' hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana that spans 17 years.

The one who wrote that probably got the screener given to reporters. May recap kasi ng previous episode yung nag-air sa HBO kaya mas mahaba yung simula.

Was kinda disappointed that Alexandra Daddario did not play a bigger role after her inspiring performance in Episode 2.
But her performance was well worth it. Best scene of the year hahaha

HBO confirmed today that Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn will star in the second season of HBO's "True Detective."
Justin Lin is set to direct the first two episodes.
In the second season, three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.
Colin Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.
Vince Vaughn is set to play Frank Semyon, a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
Additional casting will be announced as it is confirmed. The eight-episode, hour-long drama is set to begin production later this fall in California.

Vince Vaughn is such a lousy actor...that monologue of his at the beginning would be disturbing from a more capable actor, but instead it almost put me to sleep

I like Season 1 better so far, after 5 episodes I'm still not hooked to this new season. Colin Farrell is the best performer for me. I can't distinguish between Vince Vaughn's comedy acting and his serious & dark character here. Hope this will pick up in the remaining episodes.
Agreed...first season was better. This season is a snoozer, which I will gladly take back if they do something really shocking in the remaining two episodes. Farrell is the standout here, while McAdams looks bored and Kitsch is just blending into the background. This season's complete disaster and a truly bad casting choice is Vaughn--all his scenes just suck the life out of this show.
But the question remains...will we see that sad singer in that depressing bar again? LOL ;D

hoping for an explosive finale too. medyo up and down ang story eh. its hard to understand too kung di mo tutukan ang panood e lalo mga dialogues nila.
i think mas maganda yung unang season kasi hindi bloated yung storyline unlike itong season 2 na ang daming side stories for each main character.

What the finale succeeded in doing was ramp up the tension, particularly during the last 30 minutes, where you didn't know who would be alive at the end. And yes, sad singer and scarred bar owner also reappeared in the finale, heh
- Who killed Rick Springfield? No one cares, LOL
- Frank thought of everything... except for the Mexicans
- Why didn't Ray just call a cab (or Uber, LOL) and leave his car there?
- Ani's supposed to be an expert shooter, yet failed to kill Burris during the station shootout.
