Post by: rochie on Jan 12, 2015 at 01:52 PM
anyone tried Daphile? I have 1 netbook lying around and decided to try daphile on it during the weekend, surprisingly it sound good using my USB dac, It can also play spotify but with premium subscription only. the good thing is that I can control it with any web enable device that is connected in my home network, and can also be controlled by any squeezebox client. and it can use multiple output device and can play simultaneously, great for multi zone.

you can create a live-usb if you just wanna try it and don't want to install on the machine.

Sorry for bringing-up this lone post re-Daphile which I just learned recently. Been using it for a week now I've created a live-usb and plugged it in my Vortexbox Music Server running on Linux Fedora 20 OS. Since I'm using LMS for over 2 years now I am quite familiar on how to deal with it. Truly I am amazed with Daphile compared with Fedora 20 which until now I've been struggling to learn without any background on Linux. Daphile is more friendly user and not so difficult to understand. What I like in Daphile is the ability to plug a usb stick or an external HDD with music files that is easily added on its library contrary to Vortexbox which you need to use a command line on linux just to mount the external HDD to be recognize as an extension of its library. Right now I'm enjoying it and added Spotify as well.

downloaded an iso at using pendrive iso usb tool nagawa nito maging bootable yung 8gb ko na Flashdrive.

btw, you can still control it via mobile devices even wala kang router/access point. if no router or access point is detected it can make your laptop's wifi adapter as an access point para ka makaconnect doon and control audio playback.

tama po. nice features din po yan.

ang sinisilip ko lately is yung mga plugin nya. im looking for capability to stream audio from my cellphone and yung ma view nga yung mga files ko sa cellphone.
