Hi,
I'm ew at this and trying to learn from experts. I recently visited a store in Megamall and tried a Motorino. It was a nice basic turntable however the sound quality wasn't satisfying.
i was introduced to a Rega at the same store and experienced better quality. in short i got hooked immediately.
aside from the turntable, what other equipment (basic for newbies) should i also consider in starting this hobby?
aside from rega, are the Asian brands (Onkyo, Akai, Pioneer, Sony etc) also a value-for-money alternative?
appreciate the responses :)

Rega tables are good. But personally, i prefer vintage tables. Very sturdy, exceptional craftsmanship, built like tanks. :)
You'll need a good amp with phono input and speakers of course.
Also pambili ng sangkatutak na plaka. Hehe

aside from turntable as one of your analog source, you will need the basic equipments: amplifier (with phono input-MM or MC, Aux In...), a pair of speaker, some wirings for interconnects (source>amp), speaker wires (amp>speaker).
basa basa rin dto, daming info around...
enjoy & chillax lan...

If you want a turntable that will last for decades (30, 40, 50 years) and holds its value really well, Technics SL-1200/1210 MK series.

Nice!
The expense on gears is minimal compared to the expense on Vinyls. ^-^
