Anyone using their Xbox One S as a 4K Blu-ray player?
Per Anson ATC no one sells 4K Blu-ray players in PH.
Visited Databltz ATC and I saw a Xbox One S with a built-in 4K Blu-ray player.
P15,000+ yung 500GB version. US price is P14,000+
Per spec 4K Blu-ray player spec are region FREE.

I think the 15k is for the first gen xbox, not the S. S version is around 17-18k.

I'm getting an Xbox One S this holiday for gaming purposes. I feel it's the right time now to get a new console when compared to the previous years because there are many games available now and also because of the better slim version.
Won't be using it for 4k Blurays yet because for one I do not own a 4k TV (hopefully next year) and each 4k bluray movie costs $30

Bro get the gears of war edition if you can. Comes with 2tb hdd and all the goodies too. 500gb is really fast to fill up given there are a lot of free games that comes with the xbox live. Plus you get the other flagship game of xbox (halo the other one)

I plan to get the 500gb version and stick a bigger external hard drive to the console.
Tests show that the Xbox One's internal hard drive is pretty slow and that sticking even just a regular external hard drive improves load times by a good margin.

I think the blu ray hardware is still region coded. It is the 4k blu rays that are region free if i am no mistaken...
Thats why it can only play region specific ordinary blu rays but plays all 4k discs.

Was able to bitstream Dolby Atmos from a 4K bluray disc!!! ^-^
This is really a big update for the Xbox One S as a 4k bluray disc player...
I tried playing mkv file with HD Audio but there's still no option to bitstream the HD Audio...
So I think the update is for the bluray player only and the Media Player app is not included :(
