I downloaded Netflix, it works, but with our internet, you need extra patience. I guess it's time to bug PLDT (or SKY) for a faster broadband connection. :'(

I set mine to 1080P 24Hz since most of the movies are at 24p, so I avoid setting switching every before movie. :) it will only switch if the video is 60p :)

If you switch this to auto. You will see the hz rate upon starting the video. 23.976 for bds and rips. Hindi eto kaya ng previous model (x6 pro) now zidoo fixed this hz issue in x9s
Some files are in 29.97 i also see bd iso concert in 59 point something hz...

question lang po, htpc user kasi ako. regarding image quality, would you say this is comparable or better than an htpc?
im contemplating to get an nmt, just thinking if it would surpass or equal the image quality of a fully customized htpc (mpc-hc, madvr)
I haven't tried htpc in my setup yet but this is a good alternative to htpc...
Pq is better than my default tv media player, lg bluray player, and my previuos nmts(zidoo x6 pro and generic ones)

The device is NAS capable and with openwrt.
Since it is already wireless AC 5.845ghz supported, i will test Nas capablity soon. Nag iipon lang ng pang wireless AC router..

Even pag nag paplay yung jelly fish file. You will never know that it plays as it suppose to be unless may side by side comparison.
Someone did a review about different android players on youtube side by side playing the jelly fish file.
Iba it play smoothly pero after a minute. It plays only around 45 second of the file while others are already on the 1:00 minute mark of the file.

Im just so happy with x9s because it plays all my bluray iso concerts. Just like watching the concerts on bluray discs (even better because x9s auto select correct framerates) most montreux concerts are encoded 59.94fps
And the "this is it" by michael jackson in 3d iso also plays correctly.

Everything and every specs are exactly the same.
from cpu to gpu to ram to features except that x10 has internal sata bay while
x9s only have the external sata connector(exposed sata drive). The same number of ports and other features are the same.
(sorry no extra sata port for x10)

May mga dedicated bluray players kasi na may HDR to SDR feature like the Sony x800, Oppo 203, LG up970 and Panasonic ub900. So if you have an older display na 4k capable but non-hdr you can still watch hdr movies properly...

Reprocessed hdr kasi yong downloadable files natin sir.. sagad ang pag enhance nila ng color gamut at nits,
since hindi pa rin cracked ang ultra hd bluray. Downloadable files are for bt2020 tv lang with hdcp 2.2 receiver.
best solution siguro dito is download sdr files lang muna. 4k bt709 looks good in non hdr tv/projector

Nakanood na ako ng ultrahd bluray with hdr.(courtesy of our member here with samsung uhd and oppo 4k player) Its not the same as downloaded hdr. Sobrang enhanced ng downloadable.

Usually ang 4K mkv files do not have hdcp 2.2 so it will be accepted by AVR that can passthrough 4K resolution to your display.

You can play any file you throw at it via zdmc. I was able to stream my flac files via local network in my zidoo.

I can also access my laptops hardrive via smb on file explorer wirelessly.
Maybe because android and openwrt run simoltaneously.
I havent explore much the openwrt function. (Not that techie) this could run smooothly with lan i suppose. But i think achievable also with proper wireless ac router since x9s is already wireless ac.

Zidoo even streams better from my local network and internet even on wifi compared to my HTPC with an AC 750 wifi adaptor. Para akong naka LAN cable.

I bought 2 mini keyboards with trackpad but it doesn't work in the Zidoo. Sayang it would've made my life easier specially in searching. I also tried it with ZDMC but to no avail. I used this in my RPI with openelec (Kodi) and HTPC and works fine.
Any idea?
Try to insert in usb 2.0 ports. I remember hid is in usb port 2 and 3. My a4 tech wireless mouse works fine. Will try the logitech wireless keyboard later.

I was able to mirror my android phone using Miracast Player. Downloaded it in Google play store in Zidoo. Then I am using Miracast (Wifi Display) in my phone.
You can also cast Netflix on your android phone to Zidoo then to your display but with only stereo sound.
For iphone I found this link which could help (i hope) as I can't try this (no iphone).

Hi tanong naman. Recently i downloaded the full bd file of baywatch. Yun meron bd menu dolby atmos 7.1 I only have an onkyo 608. Afaik it wil downscale to dolby true hd. My question is bakit palagi putol putol yun sound. Sound will disappear for a couple seconds then back on. Pa ulit ulit. If yun mga mkvs na 10gig or less no problem naman sa sound.
What is wrong?

Same experience here. No Problem on BD ISO files. But my ISO files I ripped personally from my BDs.
baka nga file may problem chief..so far so good naman Zidoo..hey glad to hear na okay ang Zidoo sa mga ripped files mo. :)

Try to factory reset muna.
Then set hdmi mode to 1080p 60hz with auto framerates on.

Anybody experienced static noise when playing hd audio in ZDMC? It happened when I was playing the Dolby True HD track of The Mummy. I tried another remuxed file with DTS HD and it worked fine.
I played The Mummy on the internal Media Player and it worked well.

Will use ZDMC or VLC nalang with these files. Tried it in my HTPC the files were playing naman even when in the 2bay enclosure.

Pero wala syang naka install na ZMDC, buti na lang na install ko yung version 6.1 from the Zidoo forum. Pero walang kahit isang add on for video kaya di ko ma test na mag stream at mag download ng movies. Please help me kung paano mag download at maginstall ng mga add on for video.

I bought 2 mini keyboards with trackpad but it doesn't work in the Zidoo. Sayang it would've made my life easier specially in searching. I also tried it with ZDMC but to no avail. I used this in my RPI with openelec (Kodi) and HTPC and works fine.
Any idea?
Doc, have you found a solution to this? Also bought a zidoo x9s from bongchillog and a keyboard (preferably wireless with backlighting and rechargeable) will really help.

What I have is the one with the RF wireless connection. I will test it again if it will work. I'll also test a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. Will update.

There is a way in the netflix website how to install in rooted devices.

Was at Festival Mall today looking at Logitech keyboards for the X9S but ended up empty handed. I saw the Bluetooth K480 but it doesn't have a touchpad, which I feel is a must. Then I saw the K400. This one had a touch pad but it's isn't Bluetooth. It's wifi only - with a USB dongle, and I wasn't sure that will work. Was actually looking for the K830 which has both Bluetooth and a touchpad but they didn't have that. Question: Will the wifi-only K400 work kaya or dapat Bluetooth talaga?
Also where can I buy those small illuminated keyboards with trackpads Doc?

Did you connect to the hdmi port that is HDMI 2.0 that supports 4k60p and BT.2020 (HDR) for both the receiver and TV? Because the washed out colors you described is like playing HDR contents on a SDR display. Maybe also try to connect your zidoo to your sony tv first to see if you can get the right colors.

Yun sony ko is 65x75f. Yun denon is x2400.

checked the specs of your denon and all 8 hdmi inputs does support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 so that's probably not the problem. Also the same for your sony x75f and all 4 hdmi inputs also are HDMI 2.0
But it's weird that your sony info is saying 1080p only. What video settings do you have set for your zidoo?
I would suggest you connect your zidoo direct to your TV first and see what info and colors you get.

I have a sony 4k tv and this zidoo. I also have a denon 4k receiver na. So im connected to zidoo to receiver to tv. I have 2160p files 10 bit, but when i play it the colors are so washed up. Ang puti...Pag 1080p file naman, maganda naman. Why is it like that? Thanks

Hi sir, Im already using the high speed monoprice cables bought from anya618.
So zidoo hdmi out (4k hdmi monoprice) to Denon 2400 (hdmi input, media player) then hdmi out (4k hdmi monoprice) to a 4k splitter, then out from splitter to my 4k tv (also 4k hdmi cable).
Im using a splitter because my pj is not 4k. 2 in 1 ko, enjoying tv and pj hehe..
Afaik, all 3 cables are 4k already. Or maybe one of the cables may not be 4k. I will check this again.

Yun sa zidoo, i set it at 1080p and 60hz, No choices above this setting kasi. I noticed this washed out video already before I upgraded to denon 2400. I had a onkyo 608. Still quite good.
What I tried before is connecting straight from zidoo to my sony 4k tv. The 4k file ran and it is beautiful. But I didn't check the info tho. I will check again... I know it is connection from receiver to splitter to tv, maybe ang problem.
or Im gonna try taking off the splitter and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure it's the splitter. that's probably also why you can't set the zidoo above 1080p and 60hz.
you can also try to remove the hdmi cable to your PJ that is connected to the splitter first. Just leave the hdmi connected to your 4k TV.

I think it's automatic based on your hdmi output settings for your receiver and not activated via remote.

mga master worth it ba na mag upgrade ako from mibox to this x9s? like ako namna pang media player lang.Thats what I did for my entertainment room. Quicker and snappier although older version of OS compared to mibox.

i sold my mibox coz the bootloader is locked.

My X6 does not work on Netflix anymore because my X6 is Android 5.0. Netflix says current version is not compatible with Android 5.0 and below. However there's a workaround according to Netflix. You just need to use their older version.

yes bro. very smooth sya kahit sa 2.0.. 4k ang tv ko pero hindi HDR bro. kaya siguro smooth sya napeplay. iuuwi ko muna ang isa kong 4tb i try ko sya. baka sa hardisk ko eh.
yung external ko 5tb seagate backup plus. yung walang supply. gusto ko na nga lang baklasin at i sata eh.

I'm not quite sure, are you pertaining connecting a hdd w/ movie files like 4k?

Anyone using or has used an x9s with a probox 4bay enclosure?
My current is x9s with Probox housing 4 x 4tb HDDs. Lets call them HDD1 to HDD4.
When connected to my PC, all 4 HDDs are detected and can be accesed.
However, when connected to the x9s, 4 HDDs ate detected and can be accesed but one drive is just like a mirror of HDD3. In other words, I cant see the contents of HDD1. When I click on HDD1, I see the same contents of HDD3.
Anyone?

Thanks for the input. In my case, the Zidoo reads 3 of the HDDs in the Probox and 1 External Portable HDD.
It just fails to read the 4th HDD inside the probox. It detects it, but only shows the same contents of one other HDD in the Probox.

so again, I sent it back sa Amazon, and requested a replacement.
So sa ikalawang pagkakataon, sabit pa rin, same issue ang lintek, so I gave up with this brand,...
Tama ang sabi nyo, HIT or MISS na itong brand na ito,...
I am now ordering the Zappiti One SE 4K HDR - UHD Media Player
Hopefully, this would perform well, will let you know as soon as maikabit ko ito...

I've been trying to find a media player that would complement my workhorse WD TV player.
I've tried those $30-80 android players, to somehow sum it up, all of them are really buggy, some would play the video file,
pero walang audio, yung iba naman hindi kayang mag-decode ng DTS or Dolby, and kahit anong adjust ang gawin sa setting,
walang pagbabago, I've tried 5 andorid players I think, I ended up returning them...
Now, I've tested Zidoo Z9S, coz I've been reading some of the reviews here,
unfortunately, unang subok pa lang ay sabit na sya, hindi makung mag-initialize ng player,
And after complaining sa Zidoo, they told me to flash it, following the method na pinadala nila.
Sabi ko sa sarili ko, for $180-200, hindi dapat ganito ito, anyway, I did flashed it,
sabit pa rin, lahat ng naka-install na app ay ayaw gumana, kahit file explorer ay panay ang error,
so again, I sent it back sa Amazon, and requested a replacement.
So sa ikalawang pagkakataon, sabit pa rin, same issue ang lintek, so I gave up with this brand,...
Tama ang sabi nyo, HIT or MISS na itong brand na ito,...
I am now ordering the Zappiti One SE 4K HDR - UHD Media Player
Hopefully, this would perform well, will let you know as soon as maikabit ko ito...
Quite thankful at maganda ang return policy ni Amazon...
The advantage of zidoo is it's built in Media player.
it's OS is generic android so i don't recommend it for app use especially apps that are designed for android tv os..
I have both nvidia shield and zidoo z1000.. Zidoo is still my choice in local media playing. hands down..

marami ako kakilala sir update ng update no imrpovement sa z9s model. meron pa kakaupdate hindi na gumana totally ang z9s nya.im really glad dati hindi ko naisipang bitawan ang x9s ko to shift on this model.

i sold din a lot of zidoo z9s. wala naman naging problema.. basta factory reset lang after update..

Z9s parang hirap talaga gamitin. I just used mine for streaming TIDAL to my Stereo System. The funny thing Z9s cant open the latest firmware of TIDAL it will crash so I just downloaded the old version (very old version). eg: 2.30ver, 2.29ver, 2.28ver, 2.27ver, all wont work so I got the 2.26ver, just like NETFLIX you cant have the the APP in Z9s, you have to use the very old version too w/c has a very old user interface :(

vlc is also not that good in z9s, just use it's default media player.. it will play most of the files you have.

baka yung kopya mo mismo my problema sir. sa zidoo older models iisang movie lang ang natry ko isalang na nagkakaprob yung Dolby Vision. actually na play parin sya kaso ma lag lang.

ang weakness nya app use and streaming.

Additional info guys para maayos at maging stable ang 4k output from your zidoos lalo sa mga first timer. Turn on your tv first after several seconds saka i on ang AVR.. After several seconds again saka buhayin ang zidoo.para maganda ang handshake at sa tv manggaling ang EDID..kasi pag AVR din pala ang unang binuhay mo most of AVR's naka default 1080p kahit 4k capable.kaya pala matic ang TV at Zidoo mo mag 1080p lang din..

maghapon ako nag kakalikot kahapon ng set up ko. para malaman ko ang mga possible problems. nag try ako mag direct connect ng zidoo sa TV ko. tapos nung binalik ko na sa AVR ang zidoo ko tapos una kong na turn on ang zidoo nangyari unang bukas 4k sya. tapos nung nag handshake na sya sa AVR ko nawala din ang 4k option sa zidoo ko mismo. ang AVR ko nagsend ng EDID to my zidoo. pati sa TV ko unang buhay palang HD nalang ang naka display..
