Sony made a weird decision to sell a "4k" console without a 4k Bluray player.
The Microsoft Insiders had started getting bitstream (and Atmos) support on the Xbox One and Xbox One S a few weeks ago. The early 2017 timeline seems to be on track.
Games are also supposed to take advantage of Atmos soon.

Their only announced UHD Blu-ray product is an ES model for 2017. They probably see 1080P Blu-ray and UHD streaming as sufficient for the mainstream consumer.

And also when ps4 and xbox one was developed, it only had GPU thats equivalent to a midrange PC GPU. Sony and MS will not put a high end GPU. So, its safe to say a PS5 is probably 3-4 years away.
Maybe that's why, SOny has released the PS4 Pro and also MS will have "Scorpio", coz they know it will take a while before grpahics companies come up with a good enough GPU for 4k gaming. And mind you, they haven't done that before, they only had a PS3 slim version with same processing power.
Getting a "updated" PS4 Pro now, I think is a safe bet, since future early PS5 games will also come up with PS4 versions, and graphics will still be good for 1080p gaming at 60fps, which is still good enough for most people.

my point ka jan sir.. but siguro lets face the reality. iba parin ang PC sir kahit anong upgrade pa ang gagawin ng mga consoles mahihigitan at mahihigitan sila ng performance ng PC.
kaso mas mura lang ang platform ng build up ng ps4 compare sa PC.
kasi meron ako one time nabasa sa isang site nagbuild up sya ng PC katumbas ng specs ng PS4 x3 ang presyo ng binuo nyang PC.

I doubt it would be times three of the price of the PS4. If that's the case, mas mahal pa sa build ko na i5 6600k/gtx1070 combo sa specs na ps4 lang? I can build a ps4 spec'd PC at the price of a ps4 or a little bit more.

Sony did not put a 4k bd drive on the pro so no 4k bd capability
Also, on the ps4 pro youll only enjoy 4k content by downloading massive game updates that will enable 4k gameplay on the pro, not all games support this - and reg ps4 and ps4 pro games are one and the same so i dont see why there is a need to get the pro vs a reg ps4
If youre into gaming - id reco a reg ps4 (the slim or the cuh 12xx) it does everything it should be doing and its way cheaper than the pro - exclusives are plenty and these are usually some of the best games for the ps4

If youre going for functionality, Id reco the xb1s
Kase its also a 4k bluray player
Sony did not put a 4k bd drive on the pro so no 4k bd capability
Also, on the ps4 pro youll only enjoy 4k content by downloading massive game updates that will enable 4k gameplay on the pro, not all games support this - and reg ps4 and ps4 pro games are one and the same so i dont see why there is a need to get the pro vs a reg ps4
If youre into gaming - id reco a reg ps4 (the slim or the cuh 12xx) it does everything it should be doing and its way cheaper than the pro - exclusives are plenty and these are usually some of the best games for the ps4

Medyo malayo since the xb1 s is still based on the non-S hardware. Ps4 pro is definitely built for gaming.
