Title: transformer for vintage Fisher receiver
Post by: radiohead on Mar 06, 2018 at 12:25 PM
hello pdvd,

I will be getting a vintage Fisher 800C receiver soon, but it's 110 volts. Is it safe to just use the 110 socket on my voltage regulator or would it be better to get a separate step up transformer? What is a good brand that is available locally?

Thanks,

mario

step down transformer sir, its ok to just plug it in on your AVR as long as it can handle the load. but if im on your situation, Ill just buy a separate step down transformer that can handle the Fischer.

Thanks sir Rochie. Was inclined to go that route as well. Nalito lang ako sa step up or step down. Any good brand recommendation sir? Ok na ba yung mga benta sa Ace hardware?

If it were mine I'll go for a 110V voltage regulator with a minimum rating of 500 watts or more opposed to just a step down transformer.

if that were mine, i will convert that to 220 volts.
when you receive the unit, please take pictures of the vicinity of the power traffo, i helped a member convert his Mc275 unit to 220 volts by just rearranging the primary of the traffo by series connecting the primary for 220 instead of the usual parallel connection for US units...
