Netflix.com: Rent all you want for $20/month

According to this website, http://www.netflix.com, you can rent as many DVDs as you want for $20 a month. They give you a prepaid envelope to mail the DVD back to them after you're through.

haaay sana magkaroon ng ganitong service sa Pinas!

I just would like to correct the last plan:
Regular membership; this was only available for the first 100 clients, unfortunately (but fortunately for them) more than 100 na ang clients and the website hasn't been updated yet.  Now the lowest membership is the PREPAID, P1000 but consumable at P50/disc no overnight and no time limit on the consumption of credits.

Since the website hasn't been updated just click regular membership pero that pertains to the prepaid plan.

Hello again, snaj.  Nice to finally see you. :D

I find your shop very cozy.  The couch and the AV set-up is a very nice touch making the shop feel very homey. :)

Hey guys, if you are in the area I suggest you check out MyDVD along Kalayaan Ave. (Rockwell-bound side) near corner of Burgos street.  Just look for Janet (aka snaj here in the forum) and tell them you are a PinoyDVD member.  Instant EB agad! ;D  Actually the shop is a convinient site for Makati EBs.  Snaj told us that she's okay in making the site an EB venue. :)  Lots of R1 and R3 titles since the entire shop only carries DVDs.  They also have the for sale some DVDs including the Php450 Tagalog titles. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention the coffee table on the side. Snaj, does it come with a free coffee? ::) ;D

What's the coverage area for mydvd? I looked for it at the site pero di ko mahanap. I'd like to sign up sana but I want to know the coverage area first. Does it cover Manila?

Sana magkaroon na rin ng ganitong service around Malate. Image Video should start it, they already have the stocks.

I'm sorry the website is currently under construction kaya marami pang kulang.  As per coverage, if it's near makati, upon receipt of your application we try to visit the area to see if it is easy to access, if it passes the test then we deliver, if not, we may still deliver if you enter as a classic or preferred member.

I hope I answered your question.

Classic and preferred are the membership that offers RENT-ALL-YOU-CAN package like NETFLIX for as low as 4000/semi-annual and 7000/annual.  You can rent as many as you want.  You can even rent every 3 hours as long as you have only 2 to 3 discs on hand at one time (depending on the membership)

Hi.  90 discs a month is a lot to watch especially if your working.  But if you compute it at 1 DVD a day...thats P50 x 30 = P1,500 x 12 months = P18000 !!!! if you watch every other day its P18000 / 2 = P9000 !! cheaper pa rin ang P7000 diba?

Pwede na kung talagang frequent watcher kung medyo medyo lang pwede na ang Regular membership.

as i netflix member, so as to maximize my membership, sometimes i just tape the dvd's i borrow so i can return it the very next day so i can get another title :), then i can view the tape at a more convenient time :)
the downside lang nga eh...balik nanaman ako sa vhs viewing:-/

Hey Snaj,

I find your preferred membership reasonable and attractive. However, I have some questions whose answers I can't find in your website.
How does your queuing system work?  Will the DVD be automatically delivered to the first member on queu?
So far what is the average waiting time to rent new releases?  How may titles do you currently have? How many copies per title?

Sorry, dami kong tanong. :)  Buti pa punta nalang ako dyan.  Bukas ba kayo every day?

Hi DaVID!

Thank you!!! Ok lang ang madaming questions.  Once queued you automatically fall in line for the movie that is out.  Once it is available you will be notified or you will be able to see it if you log on and you are given 24 hours to confirm or to cancel.  So it's reserved for you for 1 whole day!!! We do not deliver automatic because you might have a preferred time to watch it.

Why don't you visit the store nga!? We're open everyday 10am - 10pm.  I'll be there everyday except thursdays and Sundays.

See you there? ;D

Snaj,

Just wanna ask, what do *S.O.N stands for, strictly Over Night? If it's so, di ba hindi applicable sa prepaid ang no overnight? Para kanino yon?  ???

And if you won't mind, i have some suggestions.  I noticed that sa sign up form, only the delivery address is needed.  There's no mention of the Home address. For your protection, maybe you can add the Customer's home address in addition to the delivery address.

Also, i noticed no space was provided for the nickname.  Since you're delivering your goods to offices, i think it'll be a good idea to include such info kasi when someone is looking for somebody in an office, we usually recognize the person thru the nicname (not all know everbody's full name) so madaling maituro dun sa napagtanungan nong messenger ninyo.  :)

And pardon my ignorance, when i click on the "Add to List" button, and the DVD is out, will it tell me so outright? (sana ga'non) Though my account has been activated, i'm not yet planning to rent 'til tomorrow (Friday) kasi bukas pa lang ako uuwi sa house namin (i'm at my in-laws).

That's about it for now... I hope this merits your attention...  Thanks  ;)

Hi Sickboy!
This only applies to Annual Members because they can rent as many as they want as long as they have 3 on hand.  3 x 30 days = 90 in one month.  but even if they don't maximize it SULIT Pa rin kasi 1 a day will cost you P20,000 in one year! we're only asking for 7000.

By the way we launched new membership packages: (but it's not uploaded in the website yet)
I. ON-DEMAND Customer

free delivery and pick up only in Makati
                      Overdue at P65 also/movie/day
   B. PREPAID: P1000 = consumable at P50/movie
no time limit on consumption of credits
ALL movies may stay with you for 2 days
max of 3 discs on hand
free delivery and pick up in Makati  &                      Mandaluyong City
                       Overdue at P50/movie /day
II. RENT-ALL-YOU-CAN Packages:

                        free everytime you rent
as long as you have 2 discs on hand
Discs may stay with you for as long as 3days
Free delivery and pick up Makati, Mandaluyong & Ortigas Center

Also, can I suggest that you add a "New Release" section on your categories? This will make it easier for users to browse what's new instead of clicking on all categories.

Suggestion lang po.

I guess the reason why the site hasn't been updated is because there is nothing to update. I don't think they have had new titles for the past four weeks. Their service is great but it can only get them so far. They really need to have new titles(kung mas madalas nagkakakaroon ng bago mas maganda) to sustain their membership. Look at Vidmax - ang lakas-lakas pa rin nila kahit na medyo mahal at puro overnight. It's really because they always have new titles every week. Kaya sa MYDVD management - please get new titles para masulit naman memberships namin.

1. Harry Potter (syempre)
2. Friends (series 3)
3. Batman & Robin
4. Black Hawk Down
5. 13 Ghosts
6. Domestic Disturbance
7. Mulholland Drive
8. Vanilla Sky
9. Snow Dogs
10. From Hell
11. Bubble Boy
12. Ikaw lamang hanggang ngayon (regine/richard)

More to come...

Thank you for your patience.

snaj,

is your shop now located at san francisco st. in mandaluyong? went to your shop yesterday evening and asked for the R1 titles. I saw a number of p-dvds on your catalogue. Are you charging your customers the same when they rent an orig from a p-dvds? Kasi talo kung parehas lang ang rate nyo bec. I could get the same title by just adding a couple of hundreds or less and get the disc itself.

Hi! we just started a new DVD Rental Shop last December 15, 2008 named MYDVD but we're not related to mydvd.com.ph. It is located in Greenwoods Executive Village, Pasig City. We do have more than 600 titles, all in DVD format, not bad for starter I think.

So guys if you do reside in Greenwoods, we are located at Dogwood corner Apricot Street. near the GEVHAI Office. List of our movies were posted in WWW.VIDZMAR.COM. The site is not fully functional but worth a visit.

THANK YOU! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hope to see you there!!
