who here has this DVD player brand? What's your experience with it and does it accept all DVDs (including RCE)?

Ok ba yung Pensonic na brand? Tatagal kaya yun? Kasi meron silang maliit na DVD/DIVX players YB4040, YB4545 and YB4848. Ano kayang version ng DIVX codec nila? Meron ba ritong nakakaalam?

The only experience I had with Pensonic is when I saw this salesman in Ever Gotesco Commonwealth demo-ing a unit which was able to smoothly play media which were cracked, badly scratched or very dirty. I would have bought that. Unfortunately, I had just bought my old Promac dvd the previous week.

We were able to get this player for my girlfriend's dad. It could play divx. But we haven't tried a torture test of divx files. We got it for Php 1,900 in Quiapo.

anong model yung P1.9? i got the SK-15 (with USB and Card Reader) divx/mp4 player for P2.5k >:( sa greenhills kahapon, so far na-play naman nya yung mga divx ko ng SMALLVILLE, 24, and STARWARS....yung JAMES BOND ko ayaw sound lang meron paputol-putol pa....will check later kung anong version ng codec ang gamit nung sa JAMES BOND at ayaw i-play....with 5.1 output nga pala ito...card reader working, sinubukan ko yung SD card ng CANON A620 ko, na-view naman mga pix me option pa na irotate yung picture....USB di ko pa natry....

I think i saw 1 in SM bicutan. Im also dying to buy a Divx capable dvd player. Im a newbie in the DVD world and im finding a player to buy. I also observed that the penasonic dvd player has a usb port in front. Can it play divx/xvid, avi and mpeg4 videos using an external drive?

I just bought a Pensonic SK-15 player. This has the USB and SD Card reader. I haven't tried using the USB and card reader though but when it comes to playing DVDs, it's so clear and better than my PS2, XBOX and Ganzklar DVD player.
So far so good.. Anybody who has tried using the USB Port?

K guys, I'm done testing the USB and it worked!!! Wuhooo!!! I also noticed that there's a built in equalizer on this player and it works too! Ayos ganda!

my USB port on SK15 is also working.....but it cannot play DVD9 discs that i bought sa ating suking tindahan sa quiapo ex. is the James Bond Complete series, it will load but then it will stop after a few seconds same thing with a DVD9 cartoons selections....

^That's strange, probably because of the quality of the DVD9 disc that you inserted. Mine is working flawlessly whether it's a DVD5 or a DVD9.

Questions:
Can the new Pensonic brands
1) play the DVD9 8-in-1 discs?
2) play movies and music from hard discs?

Is there anybody here who owns a Pensonic SK-11? Is it capable of playing DIVx format?
How about the VGA out, SD and USB port, does it really work?
I'm contemplating on buying one for P2000 sa may Raon, to replace my EXTREME 6500A which got busted after 2 years of service. It can still read CD's and VCD's but not DVDs anymore.

try going to sta cruz and raon and look around.. daming nagbebenta ng RC doon. Not sure of Pensonic in particular tho. I was in the same predicament for my Lexing remote a few months ago... walked around in Sta Cruz, tanong ako if they have Lexing RC.. sabi nung girl e meron.. 600 daw. Sabi ko HA!! 600!!! dagdagan ko lang ng konti e i can buy a new dvd player na!!! so i moved on and asked someone else later.. meron din P 100 lang! So syempre i bought it na.. made me wonder later if baka mali rang rinig ko kanina, baka 60, not 600... super weird naman to sell it at 600.. pero di naman nya ako kinorrect ng nag reklamo ako... hmmm
U can also try the stores that sell Pensonic DVD players.. maybe they can sell u extra RC
anyway, i learned my lesson.. I have a Palm Pilot PDA, and theres an app that allows u to program remote control (Palm has an IR port). So i program all my DVD remotes now.. :-) App has built in signals for popular brands like Sony, Sharp, etc.. but ung mga generic dvdplayers syempre wala.. have to "copy" it manually.. :-)

malapit sa overpass, lapit din sa liongco.
there's a lot of different models, depends on your budget and preference.
pili ka na lang, at syempre pwedeng tumawad...

newbie question lang po: does this (pensonic) dvd player really produces DTS? does it really have a DTS decoder since it is indicated in the front panel that it is. i'm just a newbie in this hobby (ht) and i can't tell whether there's a difference in sound quality when i hook up my pensonic and my other player, which happens to be a pioneer on my avr.

yung nabili kung pensonic dvd player gumagana yung dts decoding nya tested ko sa 5.1 home theater speaker kong Megabox setup mo lng sa 5.1 yung player. Ang maganda png feature may scoring yung karaoke using vcd pero pag yung free na divx karaoke 500 song na ksama ng player d gagana yung scoring, may mic mixing pa maganda yung templada brod at may free na 300 games NES format pwede kang mag download sa internet copy sa USB isalpok mo sa player babasahin nya

oo bossing, kaso hanggang 30 gb lang kaya nya basahin at dapat fat32 pagkakaformat nung hard disk mo sa enclosure (yun actually yung reason bat 30 gb max lang kaya nya basahin kasi dun sa fat32 format. google fat32)
pero just the same, i played my downloaded divx files flawlessly onto the machine.

Would partitioning a 40 GB into 30 and 10 GB work? I have already have an existing laptop external 40 GB in FAT32 format but couldn't be read using the player. Two of my friends' DVD players cant read DVD discs anymore, luckily under warranty pa.

ok sir yung partition scheme na gagawin nyo. i had mine setup that way. it's a hitachi 40gb hard disk for notebooks. nka external enclosure lang sya with the usb adapter.
bale 30-10 yung hati nya and both are in fat32 format. but i would only like to remind you that the dvd player would only recognize the first partition. laging ganun. so good idea to make the first partition talaga 30gb worth for a 40 gb hard disk
wala ring problems (at least with my pensonic sk22usb) with playing dvd discs after mo panooran using your usb enclosure

How can I partition my HD under winXP?
If you have done this partitioning under windows 2000 it's basically the same lang.
1. From the Start Menu, choose Control Panel then Administrative Tools
2. Look for Computer Management and open it
3. Under Storage, click on Disk Management
4. Look for the existing partition nung external hard disk, right click on it and choose Delete Partition
5. After mo ma-delete makikita mong label na nya: Unallocated Space, right click mo sya uli but this time choose Create Partition
6. Enter mong disk size nung unang partition 30720 MB (for the first 30 GB)
7. Dont forget to specify yung file system format nya na FAT32
8. repeat mo lng yung steps na to for the remaining drive but this time wag mo na baguhin yung disk space kasi yun na lang naman yung available remaining space nung hard disk mo.

Anyway doon sa mga gustong bumili nitong brand na pensonic eh ok ito! Nakapagmarathon na kami ni misis ng mga TV series mapa DVD pa or USB drive.
Eto mga shows na napanood na namin
1.) Sex in the City.
2.) Supernatural Season 1
3.) Prison Break Season 2 (ongoing)
4.) 24 Season 6 (ongoing)
at sangkaterbang mga DVD movies.
Hindi pa rin bumibigay at wala pa rin skip.

Proud ownere din ako ng Pensonic dvd players, sk-15 walang sabit pagdating sa reading, usb, mmc, external hardisk at pati vhs (hehe joke)
Regarding player with dts, try to look for this Model, may DTS decoder na 'to, SK-11, ganda pa ng dating, elegant :) :) :)

mga guys na-expirience nyo nba pag Hard disk gmit nyo may prang blur na ng-uup and down sa tv nyo. tpos it took 30mins bago basahin un hard disk nyo? kun na solve nyo na. how?

ewan ko nga kung bkit gnun. btw lexing 906 player ko. it took more than 30min to recognized the hard disk. at prang may blur thing na ng-a-appeared sa tv screen bcoz of the power supply ng Hard disk encolsure. try ko hiwalay ng power source un dvd player at hard disk gnun prin. sa encolsure kya un o sa dvd player.

I've noticed when my HDD is almost full, the DVD player had a hard time to read the HDD, but when I delete some files I've watched already reading time is faster.

I'm using an old Fujitsu 40 GB IDE HD with a year old "That's Enclosure". We've tried it on my friend's 40 GB Seagate IDE Hd but it didn't work on the Pensonic. We tried swapping enclosures pero ayaw talagang gumana.

First of all, it seems maganda talaga yung pensonic brand of players when it comes to playing movies from a usb enclosure. I have a lot of friends who, after seeing me play the smallville and heroes series sa bahay have all bought it. Almost all of my friends have this external usb enclosures for laptop hard disks. Konting tweaking lang with the FAT32 partition and ok na. mabilis pa magbasa. pag may mga times na nagiging choppy yung basa nya, pause-play keystrokes lang sa remote ang katapat umaayos na!
I'm sorry i can't help about those players reported na hindi makapagplay ng ibang enclosures (namimili ba) because I haven't experienced it yet. I connected 3 different enclosures with varied laptop hard disks inside gumana lahat sa player ko (Pensonic SK22usb).
What I can suggest though is make sure tama yung FAT32 format nung disks and walang ibang kasamang files sa loob aside from the divx movies. The players tend to recognize kasi yung file format nung laman ng disk and it usually takes a long time for the player to realize nde nya supported yung ibang files sa disk mo. Usually, naghahang na sya.

bro nkagamit kba ng 3.5 HDD. bka un un problem. dpat cgro gmitin eh 2.5 laptop HDD. pro try ko rin punta sa raon matry kung pwede sa ibang player. lyk pensonic. kasi un lexing ayaw nrin basahin un 3.5 HDD ko. nun una nbasa ng 2x. ngyon ayaw na.

Actually yung spare ko 20 gb seagate na 3.5 inch hard disk nkalagay sa usb enclosure (see this http://web3.instructables.com:8080/id/EWGSE4338WEV2Z3NS4?ALLSTEPS) and serves as my mp3 archive. I connect this to my pensonic SK22usb pag magpeplay ako mp3's sa tv (just for showing off to friends that it can be done, hehehe)

Naka-plug ba un external power ng 3.5" enclosure mo when using it w/ the Pensonic? Minsan kulang sa power pag di ma-detect properly, at least in our experience with 3.5" enclosures. Not sure lang kung same sa problem mo. Sana gumana na un HD mo.

i've had two pensonic players and so far so good. the first one lasted for 7 years before it started skipping (sulit). so i bought a new one. cant remember the exact model. this newer model has this blue light on the disc tray which i dont like. :( nakaka distract when playing at night. but i never had problems with playing my DVDs and MP3s disc and divx and avi files. i've also tested the usb port and it works ok.

I'm sad to share to you that my pensonic sk22usb won't read DVDs anymore. The player would hang for 3-5 minutes and display a no-cd prompt at its display when I load any DVD on it. However, the USB still works and I still get to watch my downloaded movies. It just took 4 months for the DVD reader to die out. hope the USB reader won't die out on me soon...

Just bought a Pensonic SK-250USB for P1,500+. Ok naman sya, simple lang ang pagkagawa.
Can play DivX from USB flash drive or from DVD.
Meron lang akong na pansin, some of the movies na nadownload ko from the net (specifically from aXXo) e nag pi-pixelize. Lalo na pag gumagalaw yung mga characters sa palabas. Sobra kayang high quality nung movie at nahihirapan i-decode ng player kaya ganun? Yung ibang DivX movies ok naman (hindi ko lang alam kung san na download).
Anyone experienced this from a different player?

Hindi naman po. Ok sya sa computer at sa ibang player eh.
Yung Pensonic lang ang ganun. I just tested the same files sa SM kanina.
Same Pensonic model ganun talaga bumasa. Tried the Rainbow & Kolin brand ok pareho.
Baka papalitan ko na lang.

BTW, pinapalitan ko na ng Rainbow brand yung DVD player.
Mas mahal sya (P2,000) pero mas ok naman dahil it can play all my DivX files fine.
So, I'll move to the Rainbow thread for updates.

Boss nakabuy ako pensonic pero forgot the brand ok naman sia sa ibang divx na movies pero when am playing it with anime divx like mga naruto, onepiece 1st part lang na play nia tapos nagstop bakit kaya waaaa... help naman po.....

i have an 80gb external hard drive formatted in FAT32, single partition. it has a couple of divx movies and tv series and some computer files. do you think it will work well with pensonic sk22usb? baka naman sobrang tagal ng loading time?

royalty fee for the dts charged expensively. so it has to be removed from it to keep the price as economical as possible.

Anyway guys, tibay nitong Pensonic namin. Di pa rin bumibigay at walang signs na bumibigay. Anak ko araw-araw nanunuod ng isang episode ng Barney. Tapos every weekend 2-3 DVD movies. Ayos pa rin! Ilang TV series na ang pinlay nito ayos pa rin!!!

same problem din sa akin i bought pensonic mga 4mos lng di na mka read ng dvd. problema ko nawala ko ang reciept d na nila tanggapin ang warranty. at di xa mka pag play ng divX. napuputol xa in 5sec of playing.

Same problem I had with the pensonic DVD I bought 2 years ago. I bought a Pensonic DVD to replace my old Kolin DVD player (the Kolin player was still functioning but it was an old model and was becoming too bulky for my room). Anyways, on its second month of usage and while loading a DVD, the machine just hanged and displayed a no disc error message. Unfortunately, I misplaced the receipt and had to reactivate my Kolin player from retirement. IMO, quality of the lens they used is sub-par as compared to other generic DVD players. Definitely there are other generic DVD players in the market that could easily beat this product on dependability and quality. Might not be worth your money.

we bought already an LCD TV, at buhay pa rin ang Pensonic player ko.. iyon nga lang ang nagagawa lang ng player ko ay 480p at wala itong HDMI.

it can run and upscale to 1080P and has HDMI, Optical Out and Component outputs all one. Not expected from a dvd player less than Php 2000.

except dts decoder...may card reader,usb reader for picture mp3 movie.5.1 output,optical,coaxial,s video component,composite and may cd ripping diretso sa usb.. at saka pinakaimportante kaya ko binili hdmi output na nag upscale up to 1080p. natest ko na and gumagana lahat. sulit nato for 1.7k!! yung model nya pensonic hm 4396.

Sir if your reciever is capable of decoding DTS signal, just set the SPDIF to RAW para ang mag process ng audio is yung reciever mo. but if it is not capable set mo to pcm yung spdif pag capable ang player mo dapat may sound s speaker pero kung hindi walang sound na lalabas..
