Sana nga... Matagal-tagal nang di nagkakaroon ng sale ang Astro Podium.
And in their recent sale events, the price drop and title selections are not that different from other Astro branches. Gone are the days when 2-disc DVDs go down to as low as P250, and boxsets are given away at P999, so even people from Alabang and even those from the provinces really flock to their stores, and buyers come out with plastic bag-full or even box-full of DVDs. I wonder when those happy days will return again...

Just bought from AstroPlus Podium The Sound of Music (40th Anniversary Edition) @ P350. Into The Blue is also at P350.
A lot of titles also were marked down from P299 to P199.

Just got rumors that there would be a big sale in Rob ermita on the 15th...I just dont know if astro would be included in the mall wide sale.better check also in rob galleria

Yup, the Astro Podium sale is on track for Sept 30 to Oct 1. The whole mall will be on sale I think.

SM MOA also will be on sale on Sep 15-17...hopefully there would be enough titles for the most sought for dvds. Im eyeing for kingkong with slipcase and memoirs pink box.
OT: sir firewired cant it be that pinoydvd able to get authorisation from the suppliers to sell sale dvds also so that those who wont be able to go can just buy from the site online. I think it would help the site and get more hits. you can probably get a tie up on advertising or something, I dont know just a suggestion ;D

Just came from astroplus mall of asia and all their warner titles are already slashed down at P275 or P350 for the double discs, also all magna titles are already at P333 or P475 for the double discs. There are a lot of titles to choose from but unfortunately the new ones are still not on sale. 1 more week to go!!

I completely missed out on the "O"-Rockwell sale as a result, since I knew there weren't any Astro sales last weekend and didn't check the thread. I'm modifying the thread title. There's a VIVA kiosk near the entrance to the MRT connection, though the Viva DVD titles there are very limited.
I think there's also a video section inside the Rustan's mall.

Heard from some VIVA insiders: there will be a markdown of their 299 prices soon. Thought it might not be in Astro, one should look out for the malls, let's hope they bring back the 199pesos promo.

with the closeness of the sale dates, i doubt there would be any new titles included. might as well wait around December and hopefully they would include new titles or new stocks.

Pretty much sale everywhere. Viva titles are now 100-199-299 even if not weekend this week. Magnavision's 50% off, 199 for local minted DVDs, and 199 for older imported discs is ongoing...
Warner lang ang hindi, but Warner's disc are very low priced as it is, and sale discount is often 10% or less unlike Magnavision and Viva na 20-50% off regular prices.

The selections in Podium are pretty good. I swore never to get The Abyss SE simply because it was a non-anamorphic release which didn't make sense to a lot of collectors then. It still doesn't make sense to me today, but at Php100 for the 171 minute version of the film, I'm not complaining. ;D
Alien vs. Predator was also going for Php100. I almost bought Fat Albert but came to my senses before I paid for it.

i would be wary of those P100 titles, at least those that came from Viva. most, if not all, of those i saw are foolscreen versions. i wouldn't put it in my shopping tray unless it's clearly specified in the label that it's widescreen. and then, you still wouldn't know not until you view it.

The Fox and MGM titles are widescreen so no worries there. However, Viva's Hallmark, Artisan, and independent studio titles are mostly Betacam-source FS releases. Astro Podium conveniently placed them on a separate shelf.

Actually, it really isn't too hard to differentiate the foolscreen betacam transfer from imported bargain dvd. Most of the imported dvd have a box on the back to indicate the screen size, some like Remembering the Titan is fullscreen but it is still imported DVD 9. And after a few trips to the video shop, you can pick one from the other just by scanning the back.
Some title that are foolscreen like Hallmark titles is still a bargain at 100. Some miniseries are 2-3 DVDs packed in two DVD cases. Okay na rin, better than VCD naman mostly ang transfer. At 375, it's expensive but at 100, okay na rin... although it's really a joy to get good widescreen dvd9s at 100. Life Is Beautiful is fullscreen dvd, but at 100, I bought it to share with friends the great film (I already have a R1 orig). ;)

Assault at Precinct 13 says widescreen but it's really fullscreen. So I immediately returned it for that reason.

and that's what i'm griping about. some of those P75/P100 titles have 4:3 indicated in them, some have none... and even those with "widescreen" printed on the cover i still do a doubletake. i really wouldn't mind getting those older/classic titles in 4:3 at P100, but for newer ones such as brokeback mountain or chronicles of riddick for sure i wanna have the widescreen version. in fairness, those two plus some others have "full screen" clearly indicated. also, i do understand there's a market for them, mostly those still stuck with crt monitors. for sure they are much much better transfers than vcd's, w/c are also selling at the same price.

BOB in the tin case edition is about P1950. Don't know about the regular cardboard box set -- could be cheaper (or the same price, go figure).

I wonder if its the same prices for the dvd they are offering now at the stores. CDs daw as low as 5 pesos..Hmm I wanna go na....Starts tom Nov. 23 10am to 7pm..For anybody that will go pls post if its a nice sale, before I go hehe.., its kinda far kasi from my place...hehe..Thanks

I just came from the CD Blowout Sale. It opened late at 10:30am (dapat 10:00am, daming nainip ;)).
Anyway, for those of you planning to visit to buy DVDs, you may be disappointed. There are very few NEW titles on sale (including the Spiderman 3 2-disc @ P800 from P895 [niyek!] :P).
There are lots of OLD dvds though, priced at P185 (from P199). But I ended up buying nothing. I didn't see any DVDs worth buying. ???
Some of the "newer" titles on sale were The Da Vinci Code, Ghost Rider, Children of Men, MI:3 all at 50% off (from P895), some superbit titles at 50% (Bad Boys, Vertical Horizon, Dracula, 5th Element, Hollow Man), and box sets at 50%(Jurassic Park Trilogy, Spiderman Trilogy)
As for the audio CDs, mas ok. There are CDs being sold for P25 to P50 to P150 to P250, etc.
If I would go back, it is just because of the audio CDs, but not for the DVDs.
In summary, the Astro Podium sale was WAY better (for DVDs, IMO).
But that's just me. Maybe you could find some titles that you like (older titles) if you have the time to go there. Baka napaaga lang ako :), late sila parati magprepare ng stocks e. ???
You can ask me titles that might be there, maybe I'll remember if I saw them. :)

I agree the CDs are the real reason to go.
However there are also some good buys in the concert DVD department. I got the following today:
Live8 (4disc imported DVD set) - P1,000
Best of Queen videos (2disc) - P200
Freddy Mercury Anthology (2disc) P200
Norah Jones Live at New Orleans - P200
My only DVD movie purchase was the Superbit Hollow Man (2disc) at P299

Yeah, nothing for DVDs. Although the Magna Manager brought down further the 50% off dvds - the P895 (50%) is now P400 and the P695 (50%) is now at P300. Not so great pa rin.

Decided not to buy Children of Men and Saving Face at P400 each. I will just wait for the price drop of these titles to either P333, P250 or P199. Will include them in my watchlist for 2008 na.

The DVD Concerts I noticed are Sarah Brightman and Deep Purple aside of course from the ones I bought ( Live 8 and Queen ).

475 was about to buy on ebay for 800 buti na lang. packaging is local but the cds are imported upon inspection. Meron din makapal na booklet na kasama. Sorry didn't see those titles.

;D I went to the Universal CD Sale last Friday, bought only a few cds but dilly dallied on the Live 8 DVD but after reading the reviews, I rushed back the following day, finally bought it and true enough, it really was worth returning to. The picture and sound (with DTS) quality were very good.
Out of curiosity and because it was helmed by some famous director using 18 cameras and all that jazz, I bought for P200 the Sarah Brightman Live in Las Vegas 2-dvd concert, have yet to watch it though.

I've just checked my Discs via DVD decrypter, and indeed it's a single layered disc for both disc 1 & 2, this could have been a local reproduction of the original,however, I still think it's a good buy at 200 pesos, mainly due to the booklet since the pirated ones don't have the booklet...He-He, furthermore, the 1,500 pesos import discs sold before could also be a single layered discs.
To those who were able to get a copy of the Queen's greatest Hits, kindly check your discs if you were able to get the dual layer or single layered version.

haven't tested yet kung single or dual layer. pansin ko lang yung disc-1 lang ang 5.1. disc 2 is 2.0 only. no problem naman basta me pro-logic decoder ang avr mo... or, you can just listen to it in stereo. basta, sa disc-1 pa lang, good buy na ito.

Checked my copy of Queen: Greatest Video Hits 1 - definitely single layer. If you read the fine print on the disc label, it clearly states "Made in the Philippines". :D Don't let it get you down though. The R4 (Australia) version is apparently single layer as well based on this review (http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ID=2599). Same with the R1 release at least according to DVD Empire (http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_item.asp?userid=99366080963698&item_id=455311&tab=0&date=394193429745370&anchor=1#topoftabs).
Frankly speaking, the cheesy 70s-style videos are atrociously shot plus they've been artificially re-framed to produce a 1.78:1 ratio for widescreen TVs. In fairness, the "enhancement" works most of the time. I like the fact that the picture fills up my screen. However, as I mentioned in my previous post, this set shines primarily because of the 96/24 DTS track. The "Bohemian Rhapsody" docus on Disc 2 were an unexpected treat as well.

It's like this ( or how I understood it ) -- Some stores like Astro, SM, Video City, etc have already pre purchased some DVDs from main supplier like Viva, Magna, MGM, etc. Since na purchase ng bulk, of course they got it at a much much lower price. So now they can dictate on how to price this P299,P199, P100, P75. Of course, the going price is considered. From time to time, they just want to unload old stocks of titles kaya they bring down price to say P100 or P75. Now, the old stock titles vary from store to store kaya magkakaiba din presyo. So yun Jack na P75 sa SM e P199 pa din sa Astro.
By the way I also got Jack @ P75 together with Moonlight Mile, High Heels and Low Lifes and all are good dvds!!

I bought the independence day extended ed. today for P299 at Astro Festival. The saleslady said the price went up from P199 to P299. i didn't ask why.
I did see the FF4 Extended Cut there, priced at P550. And then there was also the Jaws 30th Anniversary Edition DVD in an embossed slipcover selling at about P1300+ (forgot the exact figure) less 50%, so that'd amount to about P600+. Has anyone here bought that DVD? any feedback as to the packaging, PQ and AQ? :)

The extended version contains about 8 minutes of extended/additional footage:
- The first dialogue between President Whitmore and Constance Spano was extended.
- A few sentences were added in the scene as Whitmore proposes to go to DefCon 3.
- The first added scene is a dialogue between David Levinson and a colleague at the TV station. He explains that an unknown signal is responsible for the bad TV broadcasting and that he may be able to block this signal.
- In the next extended scene Russell Casse meets his son after he was released from prison.
- Up next the dialogue between Jasmine and Tiffany in the strip club was extended.
- Then there is an extended dialogue between David and his father on the way to the White house. Right after this is an added scene in which David is searching for the number of Constance's handy.
- Another added scene features David and his father in the oval Office. The father is talking about the persons who visited this office. Actors, football players and now himself...
- Right after Jasmine found the truck, there is an added scene in which the illness of Russell's youngest son is described.
- The next added scene features Jasmine as she drives the truck and some survivors through the destroyed city.
- Later in Area 51 there is an added scene in which David Levinson and Dr. Brakkish Okun go into the alien spacecraft. Here the Doctor explains some of the alien technology.
- As Captain Steven Hiller arrives with the alien visitor, a scene was added in which Russell asks for a doctor for his ill son.
- The last extended scene shows Russell's daughter establishing a new friendship while the fight rages above Area 51.

I just realized that my Independence Day dvd, bought 2 years ago from ebay, is the region 1 extended version. It also includes the theatrical version. I will have to watch this again and check it out for myself.

And Pathfinder in Musicone... 265

Hehe... Me too... I don't get it... same packaging, same region, same number of discs. May nabili akong Last of the Mohicans, 199 sa ibang braches, pero pagdating sa amin, I just bought it for 145. It's cheaper by almost fifty pesos.
Pare-pareho silang sale yeah... but the prices of the sale items doesn't tallied from different branches, ??? which I assume that they are getting it in the same distributor of course.

yes, i've seen copies available at odyssey, video city and at astrovision, sm manila branch. but prices of most viva dvds are jacked up again. i mean braveheart is sold at P350, compared to the previous P199 price.

I also got a copy of Finding Nemo 2-disc ed (DTS) from Video City. Actually meron pa rin selected titles na on sale. I just noticed, yung mga warner DVDs 199 pa rin karamihan. I got a copy of Firewall. Ang galing. I'm planning to complete my library of Harrison Ford movies.

SM Manila (City Hall) is having a 3 day sale. If you can't make it to SM Makati then this one is a nice substitute. Video City is also participating, same price as Astro.

That's great news. Dapat talaga P150 na lang and regular prices ng mga legit DVDs, whether single to dual discs. With the new high def formats and the pirated copies of Blu ray and HD DVDs that have higher video bitrates than these origs, they better halve their prices or they'll end up with unsold inventories. ;D Except maybe for those with unique or better packaging like steelbooks.

Yes. I have lots of Superbit titles and I'd say VERTICAL LIMIT has one of the best PQ/SQ among them. Story wise, it's not as edgy and exciting as, say, Cliffhanger but not that bad either. It'll keep you engrossed as long as you don't expect too much. For it's sale price, I think it's worth owning just for the technicals alone. It's a reference DVD to show off your HT setup.

Yes i have FHTE Superbit. PQ's okay for a Black and White film. Can't remember if its fullscreen or widescreen. Parang fullscreen yata and the SQ is DTS but mono yata. Didn't matter though as this is a very old film. But among my B & W films I'd say the CASABLANCA 2 Disc is a better reference quality. And it's not superbit mind you. I wished I had bought the superbit edition of Vertical Limit, Desperado and The Fifth Element when I saw their copies at Astrovision in viramall weeks back. I was waiting for the price to go down from 299 to say 199, thinking there were other copies in stock. Now, they're hard to come by . . .

Yes i have FHTE Superbit. PQ's okay for a Black and White film. Can't remember if its fullscreen or widescreen. Parang fullscreen yata and the SQ is DTS but mono yata. Didn't matter though as this is a very old film. But among my B & W films I'd say the CASABLANCA 2 Disc is a better reference quality. And it's not superbit mind you. For another good title in Superbit I will highly recommend DESPERADO - superb PQ and outstanding AUDIO!

Php100 is true for older catalog releases: Aeon Flux (animated series), Kinsey, Squid and the Whale, London, etc.
The Php299 markdowns include the 2-disc releases of Ghost Rider, Ultraviolet, Da Vinci Code, and 1-disc titles like 30 Days of Night, Dreamgirls, Shooter, etc.

I went to Festival Mall yesterday to get Planert Earth coz I heard that Astro is also on sale. First time I did is grabbed the Planet Earth boxset I saw (kasi baka maubusan pa tulad ng sa Astro Mega, talk about a recovering addict ;D) then asked the saleslady if there is still stocks available and she said that the one I have is their last copy. I told her "Miss pa-reserve na lang kasi kakain lang kami." and she replied "Sir di pwede last na kasi yan eh.". I said okay then took out my credit card and gave it to her but she refused to accept it coz they don't accept CC. I thought that it's weird since every time I go to their sale I always use my CC. So what I did is pay it cash because I don't have any choice and I asked the saleslady why don't they accept CC when before they do. She adviced me to go and buy it inside the store if I want to pay in CC. The thing is if you buy it inside it's worth P1500. I asked the saleslady "Bakit naman ganun dito P750 dun P1.5k?" and she replied "Sir dito lang yung promo sa loob hindi." Well that is weird! ::) :o ;D After getting my copy I realized that the store where I bought it is Odyssey not Astro. ;D I also dropped by Astro to check some other stuff and saw a lot of copies of Planet Earth and other dvd's on sale which is better than Odyssey. ;D

yeah Odyssey is the one at the basement near the food court. you have to pay in cash outside the store. but with Astro at Level 3, you can pay with CC even if you bought the item/s outside their store. ;)
will check back today at lunch if they are still on sale. sometimes they extend until Monday. though the mall has a triple weekend sale ongoing. there's none today, maybe this coming weekend again. ;)

they were on sale 2 weeks ago at Astro Edsa Shang.. lowest price for prison break i've seen so far... i bought myself then LOST seasons 2&3 for 750 each. Also was on sale then were seasons 2&3 of Greys anatomy for 750 each box set.

Got it during Manila Day Sale at Odyssey SM Manila (Last Jun 20-24). Look out for the next sale na lang when most Magnavision sets get slashed 50%.
Okay, you didn't ask. But Prison Break should still be at that price during weekend sale. Best bet would be to look for it at Video City.

The Astrovision sale was at EDSA Square, Crossing today. The saleslady I talked to said they've been there a week (I only found out late last night :P ) She said their next stop is Robinsons, Ermita. Nakakatuwa, parang bargain center. Bagsak talaga prices. Walang booth-booth or stall. Basta tables lang bukas sa lahat parang carinderia, heheh.

was there as soon as astro opened yesterday with the wife, when we got there, they were just setting up and pricing the dvds. the sale was not as good as some previous sales at astro festival and astro sm makati but there were still some good DVD and even CD buys. :D
why did i say that? there were some titles that were priced P125 at festival and sm makati but were P175 at the podium sale. ??? but thats just me... ;)

Went to SM MOA. They're having a Halloween Sale there (I think until Sunday). Odyssey and Astro are both included. Viva's having a 450 bucks buy-one-take-one sale. Many older Warners are priced at 175, while some tv series boxed sets are priced 699. Magna has a 199 sale on budget DVD's and discounts on boxed sets (excluding the new releases).
Also saw 2-Disc Ultimate Editions of some James Bond movies such as Dr. No, Tomorrow Never Dies, Thunderball, Live and Let Die, and Moonraker among others. Couldn't remember the rest, but it's definitely not all of the James Bond movies. They're selling at Php 450 and are Buy-One-Take-One during the sale.

Imo its a mixed of tough times, other "sources" available namely nmt's and you know what, and rather than buying new releases at a whopping 500 pesos and above, some might prefer the high definition version instead, thru amazon or marketplace. However tv series are a diff story imo, its really worth the buy sa dvd. Either that or sales are getting old na, they need to spice things up like 75 pesos dvds ;D, that will haul in the crowd for sure. ;D

yup. never buy interactive. poor packaging n DVD quality. also, be careful with those jerry brcukheimer movies ( the rock, con air, enemy of the state, etc), it says at the back of the DVD na widescreen/2.35:1 but when u test it, its only half screen..

u can actually teach the sales staff abt this widescreen/half screen thing. next time u go to the DVD shop, get the ConAir dvd and the PEarl Harbor 2disc DVD. bargain with them to play/test the discs. the ConAir dvd is halfscreen and the Pearl Harbor is widescreen. they will see the difference in the black bars on the top and bottom. ;) take note, both are labeled as widescreen/2.35:1 aspect ratio in their packaging.

yup. never buy interactive. poor packaging n DVD quality. also, be careful with those jerry brcukheimer movies ( the rock, con air, enemy of the state, etc), it says at the back of the DVD na widescreen/2.35:1 but when u test it, its only half screen..

Thank you mga bro. this is totally educational.alam ko nga ngayon ang difference between 1.85:1, 1.78:1, 2.35:1, 2:40:1 ,etc. Why can't manufacturer indicate this things all the time. I can't buy some of my favorite movies because it doesnt say 'widescreen' (example: "Shooter" atbp.)
On interactive, thanks for this info. I hope they really improve on quality. my friends advise me kase not to buy it because of poor quality like 'skipping scenes',etc.

mga dude, check out Astro megamall, meron silang mga buy one take one for only P300.00. this is cheaper than their P450 buy one take one. They have a stall located at the second floor of the bridgeway. dont go to the 3rd near cinema. mas mahal dun. some titles I saw were SWAT with nice packaging, Men in black II, Oscar best picture Dear Hunter, a Few good Men, at marami pa. I cant remember all.

Ok. Pero bear in mind, hindi yan magbabago. Ganyan talaga ang aspect ratio na ginamit ng cinematographer. Ang susunod dyan ay fullscreen na.
Sana lang huwag mo husgahan ang palabas dahil lang sa akala mo nagkulang. Sa mundo ng cinema, ang may kulang lang ay ang karaniwan fullscreen presentations.
Pwera na lang kung Finding Nemo DVD ;D Ang widescreen version nun dinagdagan mismo para lang maging fullscreen ;D ;D

Your Enemy of the State dvd has bigger black bars because it is non-anamorphic. It's still in widescreen form but it is not enhanced for widescreen tv's. Older discs are mostly not enhanced for widescreen tv's. King Arthur meanwhile is anamorphic.

The least that you can do is set your tv in "zoom" format para lumaki yung screen,though if you do that, some images on screen will be lost but minimal lang.

Hey members, just went to Astro Podium, they're preparing the DVDs for sale tomorrow till Sunday (Dec.4-6, 2009). When i went there earlier only Universal DVDs are ON SALE....and its waaaaay toooo loooooow. Lower than the previous prices. Its awesome!!! I just bought 30 Rock Seasons 1 and 2 for only P200 each. Some other titles were Heroes Season 3 for only P500, The Office Season 2 for P300, etc. Movies were priced from P100 up.
I also asked the Viva rep if they're DVDs are on sale tomorrow as well, she said, "opo sir, mas mababa ito kaysa sa mga lumang sale namin! Hindi po ito yung 2 for P450. Wala pa nga lang yung prices sakin pero mas mababa po talaga" Hmmmm... is this a good sign? Hopefully! Come on Viva!!!

Nope. Same as with other stores. Made the effort to go and check it out hoping to see some Viva titles (such as Valkyrie, The Boy in Stripped Pyjamas hopefully down from 750... but its still 750!).
All other other titles are still buy 1 take 1 at 450.
Maybe the Viva Rep was referring to the old "foolscreen" releases w/c are around 100 bucks (or 2 for 250) ;D

As stated in the Universal Studio thread, it seems Magnavision is dumping all their Universal DVDs. So if you come across any that you like, it's better to get them now or risk not getting them at bargain price. Okay, the price might get even lower, but then again, it might be sold out, as it seems unlikely, that Magnavision will be able to restock them.
The four you mentioned (if my memory serves me right) are okay.

It is on the 2nd floor of Eastwood Mall (the new mall, not at Eastwood Citywalk). There is no Astro or Odyssey store per se. They just have a set-up right outside the entrance doors of the 2nd floor.

BDs are still P999. Nawala na rin yun P750 bumalik na sa P999. If you know amazon prices and if you order regularly from pinoy dvd, mahal pa rin yun P999 at P750. I look forward to the day when BDs will sell at, say P400 to P500. Yan buhay na naman tayo nyan, parang old Astroplus days na umaga pa lang e nakabantay na tayo..
As for DVDs, for me the only ones worth buying are those boxsets on sale. Other than that, bihirang bihira na ako bumili ng dvd talaga.

I was at megamall yesterday, man nakakahilo, so many people. I didn't even get a chance to go to Astro bec. of the crowd. Since it's released by Viva, I'd say quality is exactly the same as the region 1 counterpart. Is it a 7 discer? The region 1 is a 7 discer. Sa packaging lang talaga nagkaiba but sa quality, pareho lang sila ng imported.

apart from the marked down c-interactive titles (from the orig 125! wow! ::)) and awful viva dvd-5 titles, halos karamihan ay parehas lng sa typical Php 99 dvds na nakadisplay sa bandang likod ng mga odyssey at astroplus on any ordinary day (van damme movies, serenity, etc.)

SALE ALERT! Odyssey Music Store. Not sure if this covers all branches but I stumbled across the sale at its SM Sta. Mesa branch.
CD's for 99 Pesos! Selections include Radiohead, Pat Benetar, Human League, Moby, Joss Stone, Depeche Mode, Paula Abdul, Blue, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Blondie, Go West, Grammy Awards compilation, various original artists compilation CD's and plenty more I can't recall anymore.
I picked up Dave Koz, Duran Duran and Classical 2012 (classical music by various classical musicians - 2 CD set). All for 297 Pesos.
CD's for 150! Morrisey - The Best of Morrisey CD and DVD set. And a 3 CD set of 60's original compilation CD. Michael Jackson Off The Wall, Dangerous, Bad.
CD's for 250. The Essential Billy Joel, Beyonce and many others I can't recall anymore.
Don't bother with those CD's on sale priced at 50 and 75 Pesos.

Yes, I saw this when I drop by Astro Virramall yesterday. What an awesome deal!!!! Man good thing I dropped by hahaha..This is for all Viva Disney Blu-rays on all astro/odyssey afaik. This is while supplies last. They will be going back to Magnavision kasi. I bought 13 pieces yesterday and going back for more today hehehe. I will visit several astros today hihihi...

Tried Bluray in Astro (Bought Tron, Up and Frankenweenie). Played it on my PS3 japan unit. Whats weird is that na-play naman video, but then sa Up and Franenweenie, it cannot play the English audio (no sound pag un ang chosen audio). Pero sa Tron ok naman and English. Lahat ng audio language available, chinese, portoguese, etc. Gumagana except English. Is this the region code limitation? Or something is wrong with the disc? Please help, first time ko kasi mag bluray. =) Gusto ko pa naman panoodin ulet ang UP kaso nakakainis, kailangan ko pa mag subtitle tuloy.

most likely audio codec. hehe. DTS HD-MA both yung Frankenweenie and Up. Walang Dolby 5.1. Yung Tron may DTS HD-MA track pero meron din 2.0 na Dolby

I just checked Astro and Odyssey branches in Greenbelt1, Glorietta, and SM Makati. Pirates 2D lang. If ever you have seen any Monsters, Inc. 3D, Planes 3D, or other interesting titles, paki post na lang po kung saang branch nakita. Thanks.

iron man 3 3d, sa eastwood mall.. yung isa sa dalawang stall na nagbebenta ng mga dvds sa 4th floor.. dalawa kasing stall yun, yung nabilhan ko halos puro viva release ang benta lng.. pero last piece na yung nakuha ko.. ang natirang 3d na lng dun ay beauty and the beast.. pero marami pang ibang 2d bluray na 499..

caveat lang the bluray 3Ds are really just that one bluray 3d disc of the movie and no additional discs or whatever extras baka lang isipin ng iba pareho ng US release na multiple formats w/ digital versions yung bibilhin nila
