Title: how to wire speakers in karaoke machines?
Post by: ditterdi on Jan 23, 2008 at 05:34 PM
Hi,

I recently bought a few videoke machines to rent them out. All those machines use Sakura, Honta or Konzert amplifiers, they look alike.
Those boxes have a lot of speakers, usually 4 (sub) woofers, 4 tweeters and 2 midrange speakers.
The wiring is weird. No cross-over filter. Two woofers parallel on one speaker output, the midrange and tweeters on the other output with a lot of low voltage bi directional electrolitic capacitors, also parallel.
A lot of the tweeters and midranges are blown.
Why so manny speakers, 6 or even 4 is enough, I Think. And how to change the wiring to prevent the little speakers from getting blown up?
The quality of the sound is no problem. The customers just want loud sound. Anyway, you will never be able to get a stereo sound impression with all speakers in one box.

thanks for your ideas,

Leo.
