Guys, I need your inputs on this. I'm planning to buy a BD player within the weeks time. What would you recommend, PS3 Slim or the LG BD370? Is the PQ same on both? What about SQ does it have a difference? YOur inputs would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know about PQ but one major consideration is that the PS3 slim 120gb is about twice the price of the LG BD370 as posted in another thread.... :)That too is what i'm thinking, to use the console every now and then to play some games. I can also stream video from my mac.
Would the the PS3 have PQ and AQ that's "twice" that of the LG? I'm guessing probably not, but it's major advantage over the LG is that it's also a very good gaming machine: a two-in-one machine for twice the LG price then.
I have the PS3 Slim 250GB, and I bought it primarily for BD playback. But since it's there, I find that I do tend to sneak in a quick game or two every now and then hehe

I was thinking about getting one when I bought my Samsung D550 last month... pero nag dalawang isip po ako since di naman ganun ka immediate yung need... kailangan ko lang po talaga ng stand alone BD player... which can accommodate all my needs (bluray, mkvs, etc...)
kung meron pa po kayo suggestion maliban dito sa player na ito... it would be helpful... budget ko sana is 7k-8k lang... btw... am currently using my brother's PS3 to play Blurays... hehehe...

I haven't used my Samsung BD-P1500 since I got the Panasonic DMP-BDT110 last April. Decided to give it some action last Friday. To my dismay, it won't play any of the BDs it used to play prior to it's hibernation. Tried a hard reset, still no go. Inserted a USB, still won't play any BD. Out of desperation, I played some audio CDs & DVDs, no problem. After that I tried the BDs, this time it played. The next day, same thing. Seems it won't play any BD unless you warm it up by playing CDs or DVDs first. Strange or maybe mine is on the verge of conking out.

Bought Panasonic DMP-BDT220 as an alternate player. ^-^Bought another one, Soniq B100 as a dedicated blu-ray player for region B titles
LG BP325 3D blu ray player. It plays all sorts of video file formats that I throw at it including 3D mkv. It even plays the files that won't play in my dedicated media player. Tested it with 1TB HD and it works flawlessly. I was originally planning on buying a separate media player that plays 3D movies to match my new TV but decided not to get one anymore as this player already does the job. To top it all it only costs less than P5,000.00 which is cheaper than most budget media players not to mention those that plays BD's and are 3D capable.

It seems that movie buffs are now into media players rather than disc players, which is why retailers no longer want to invest in Blu-ray player inventories.

I bought a pioneer bdp450 a year ago, 14990 pesos ata sa ansons trinoma. It is a very nice player in terms of pq for me. Pero of course mas maganda pa rin yun oppo. The pioneer is just a pure bluray disc player for me. I can't complain on the price of the pioneer hehe.
