not to party p**p around here but the 1st episode is (tad) slow and full of stupidity by it's characters, I mean C'MON! sending your own kid on the woods with zombies running around? oh and the fact that they already lost a kid on the woods  >:(

you can really see the reduced budget Frank Darabont is talking about....

almost a year of waiting para sa season 2 premier and yun na yun?

rick being chased by walkers and he is backpedaling in the water??? malamang madadapa ka talaga. lol.

and dont get me started with the black guy. haha.

and andrea instead of keeping still and making sure the door is secured decides to recklessly attempt to assemble a gun for the first time. wtf. and for some miraculous reason she assembles it she will just attract the herd back to her pag ginamit nya.

the person who shot the deer is surely looking at a scope, di man lang ba nya nakita na may bata nakatayo only a few feet away from the deer?

daryl seems to be the only guy who grasps the reality of the situation and knows his sh#t!

The Walking Dead Season 2 Premiere Breaks Basic Cable Record
Source: AMC
October 17, 2011

AMC announced today that the Season 2 premiere of "The Walking Dead" received 7.3 million total viewers last night. Here is AMC's press release on the premiere:

Last night’s season two premiere of AMC’s original series, “The Walking Dead” delivered the strongest telecast for any drama in basic cable history. The season two premiere delivered 4.8 million Adults 18-49 and 4.2 million Adults 25-54 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast. The program delivered a 4.8 HH rating netting 7.3 million total viewers. These results represent a 36% and 38% increase respectively over season one’s series average on AMC. Season one’s series average delivered the most A18-49 viewers for a drama in basic cable history.

AMC’s season one of “The Walking Dead” had a series average of 3.5 million Adults 18-49 making it then the most watched drama series in basic cable history for the demo. The season averaged 5.2 million total viewers.

“‘The Walking Dead’ is one of those rare television programs that reaches both a core genre fan as well as broad audiences simply looking for a great, character-based story. We’re so proud of and grateful for the amazing team on both sides of the camera who works so hard and is so committed to making this a unique programming event,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s president. “That ‘The Walking Dead’ is now the most watched drama in the history of basic cable is staggering, just like our zombies.”

1) di nga ba maka-attract yung automated tolling of the bells ng a million zombies?
2) why were they wasting so much time hanging around the church?  and church going zombies?   wtf.
3) bakit sila naka full sprint all the time, e di pagod na sila, wala pang zombie.
4) shotgun ba talaga gamit sa hunting ng deer (his friend was going to shoot the deer with his shotgun)?  e di hirap sila hukayin yung sandamakmak na lead shot.  while eating ... "oh that's not pepper, that's lead"

kung may mga samurai lang pala, walang problema sa mga "herd"

What? spraying your blood everywhere as the zombie pack came closer? LOL the zombies should have noticed his fresh blood while playing dead, zombies don't give a F#ck if your dead for hours as long that you smell fresh they will eat you..

anywho, I'll consider this a filler since I don't remember reading this episode in the comic series, although the deer incident and the next episode is probably a canon... 1 down 12 to go  :P

i concur.  there were a lot of gaping holes in the characters actions, and to think it was kirkland who wrote the episode. bad.

The episode was written by Ardeth Bey (a.k.a Frank Darabont) and Robert Kirkman

that's 2x bad :P

It seems this series is starting to get bad reviews, and here I was downloading the available episodes for season 2 having just downloaded the full season 1. I planned on doing a "The Walking Dead" marathon this weekend but now I'm having second thoughts. :-\

For me maganda yung Season 1, ok lang yan bro para makakonek ka sa season 2 & macriticize na din, there's always room for improvement naman, for sure mapapaganda nila yung mga susunod na episodes  ;)

to be fair I like season 1 (especially episode 1,2 and 3) that's why I'm still glued in season 2... but don't take our word for it baka mataas lang masyado expectation namin  sa season 2  ;D besides 1 episode pa lang naman, I'm still giving this series a chance  ;)

Saw it...the first 15 minutes were harrowing, but went downhill from there...you'd think the characters would know better by now:

- I don't understand why Rick couldn't have escorted Sophia back to the others, as she can obviously run faster--and with the others there, they can easily take care of those 2 zombies.

- I agree with mike c; why did they linger so long in the church area? the "bells" were set to ring by a timer, so they were ringing constantly, doon na lang they should've been on alert all the time. Instead, nag-simba pa yata yung iba.

- Best character ever to not appear in the comics: Daryl Dixon--good thing they made Norman Reedus a regular cast member.

They unplugged the timer before they went inside the churc.

I think after walking for so long and so far (more than 5 miles, I believe) in the morning they just needed to rest a while. That automated bell must've been ringing at either 11pm, 1130pm or 12nn.

I don't know the rules in Zombie World but, just because there's a bell may not automatically mean walkers will appear instantly. Maybe they passed days before already, found nothing then left. Even the humans need a break sometime, I guess.

I think his point is why would you endanger yourself and the others by staying at a loud place that attracts the undead? with zombies (patrolling the area) or not they should have learned the right precautions from season one, instead they stayed for a long time and prayed :P

Wasn't it mentioned that the ringing bells might also attract Sophia and she might go to the church as well.  That's why they stayed a while because she might go there like they did.

Well, it was a ho-hum episode, the high ratings could have been in anticipation to see what's gonna happen after the season-ending episode. Yeah, lots of holes in their storyline. In fact, I think they should just have turned around when they saw the car wrecks on the highway. I mean any person who's avoiding zombies will like do so. Like take a path of least resistance. But that wont make for a good plot :D I wonder how's episode 2 gonna turn out.  ???

They already explained why they didn't turn around: They were running low on fuel and it was a waste of fuel if they just turned around. So they had to figure out a way through the vehicles plus the vehicles had some supplies in them so they can scavenge for fuel, food and clothes.

Ang stupid pa na chopper pa yung piniling bike nung hillbilly. They already know that sound attracts the walkers. He should have chosen a scooter instead :) better gas mileage and the zombies will never catch you anyway hehehe

Yung tuscon siguro product placement kaya pinili ni shane hehehe i would have chosen a landcruiser or range rover para pwedeng pang offroad

The comics is way better

The area was clear. Humans need to pray. It's all they got now. Besides, you can still do those things while being on guard. They had guns and someone was outside to look out for zombies. If zombies were in the area, shouldn't they have shown up already since that bell has been ringing for a long time now?

Wasn't it mentioned that the ringing bells might also attract Sophia and she might go to the church as well.  That's why they stayed a while because she might go there like they did.

Agree.

For me, the episode was OK. The only lapses I saw was when Rick left Sophia by herself, Andrea noisily assembling her gun inside the bathroom, and T-Dog splattering blood all over and the majority of the zombies not gravitating towards him.

He told the girl that people tire while zombies don't.  So at least in case the zombies get him eventually, the girl has the chance to run towards another direction and back to the group.

Agree on those 2 other scenes, but it was an OK episode for me.

Yeah, but, did you see how those zombies were just shambling over to him while Sophia hid? He could have finished both one at a time right then and there. Did he really have to walk far to find a large rock to bash them over the head with? That's a forest, for crying out loud.
