steady pagbagsak ng presyo ng lcd, led, at plasma tv!
Actually, it is still high.
The fact is that it is more expensive to manufacture a CRT TV, but we know for a fact that CRT TV (29inches) cost about 10k. Thus, it is logical to conclude that mainstream 32inches should be within this price.
I have tried to end up with plasma X30 sana, but came to realization that I am not into watching, and the one who will use the TV only intend to use it to watch broadcast and korean telenovela - thus, in the end I settled for the usual LCD.
Guess what?
I went to Robinson's appliance (Ortigas), and set to buy 2 LCD (32 inch Tosh 32PB20 @ 15k, 1 year warranty). With the Sony sales rep's good ability, I was coerced
to buy the 2012 sony model 32BX311 (2 years warranty - home service) at 15k - and yes, straight card at that! No brainer!
That price was not even at par with the usual low price pusher here of these usual models! (so I gave you the hint)
Performance wise: The LCD TV today have improved a lot. Initially, I expect this kind of entry model to be so bad in broadcast materials - I was wrong! I did not opt for those nitty gritty test, but I did not see any irritating indication in the broadcast material which I saw in LCD TV before. It is like the same old CRT flawless movement - not missing my CRT at all, not hard to the eyes. Of course, BX311 is no plasma so forget about those black levels and color accuracy - the fluidity of the motion is enough at this price point. Fast USB reader (but you may not alter picture mode), plays MKV but do not support DTS sound. Channel power booster is very good. And yes, its sound is not the tiny one anymore (even though at 8W x 2) - size of speakers employed does the trick. 2 years warranty can give peace of mind for 730 days
.
I am still eyeing 42inch plasma later - perhaps in the series 50s. Siguro by that time, the price will be in a more acceptable (reasonable) level than today's prices.
