I was thinking of Southeast Asia All-Stars as one team for the World Cup.   ;D Kaso allergic ang Pinoy sa araw kaya magagaling lang sa bowling at billiard.   ;D

What the English goalie was thinking:

Funny. Well, unless you're rooting for England. :)

After watching the very 1st goal of Brazil, I thought that new Adidas ball can do tricks unseen before.   ;D

From an ESPN columnist:

Here are the top 10 most annoying things about watching the World Cup already:

Lost time (stoppage time) is always mentioned by Japanese broadcasters whether it be 3 or 4 minutes...but I have no idea how they get that data or how that period is even determined. In most cases it's like 3 or 4 minutes +20-30 secs.   ;)

Too many ties (lack of scoring) is really boring.  And I hate it when a visibly weaker team just hangs on for dear life to save a tie - and they've been very successful in this World Cup so far.

Where can I buy one of those vuvuzelas?   The kids will love it ;D

If the Japanese and the Danes end up at 0-0 on their forthcoming group match, how would they compute which team goes to the next round?

the team with highest goal difference will advance
if still tied, the team with highest number of goals

yes stoppage time = lost time as determined by the main referee.... the longest i saw so far is 8 mins. because of injured player (broken leg) at epl.... the referee does not stop it at exactly at the end of stoppage time so no buzzer beater here :) the ref calls it at free ball :)

Despite the upsets in the World Cup, and the usual lackluster performance by the English team, the finalists turn out to be some of the strongest teams (Brazil, Italy, France, Germany lang paikot ikot).

The 1st 2 Portuguese goals were hard fought.  The 3rd one totally broke the fighting spirit of the North Koreans..so kahit 7-0 ang score, that was practically 3-0.   Kisig nga lang ng trick ni Ronaldo when he finally made a goal..and ang Kups na Ronaldo, he was obviously still unhappy until he made a goal by himself...

^I don't know how much of that has to do with criticism that he has so far only scored 1 goal (before the Nortk Korea match) in his World Cup career (a penalty in the 2006 WC). Even though he was the second highest scorer in classification matches. Baka kaya init na init din siyang maka-goal. I haven't seen the match though so I really can't say.

Oh yes, Ronaldo must have been totally bummed with the worldwide criticism he had been getting for not making any goal for Portugal.  Pati yung pinanood kong Japanese broadcasters, nakukulitan na rin ako sa kakaulit nila about Ronaldo's last goal..more than 1 year na nga ba?   as if it was such an easy task to begin with.

He had some good shots at the goal last night and made a wry smile for every miss.  You could actually see the utter frustration on his face and gigil, and medyo parang he got a little envious and lalong nagigil mag-goal when many of his teammates started making the goals and he was just the assist guy...or tagayakap ng teammates after they made the goal..hehehe...parang hindi sincere na masaya sya for the teammates...unlike Messi for the Argentines..hehehe

The burden of being the highest paid football player.

Yeah I saw that Argentina match against South Korea. Messi did seem genuinely happy for his teammates. Fifa should consider counting assists as well like in hockey.

Each Spanish player will receive a bonus of 0.5M Euros if they win the World Cup

Each Japanese player will receive a bonus of 35M Yen if they win the World Cup.  Even if the offer is 100M, it wont happen.   ;D

Germany didnt lose any group match in the World Cup for 24 years before last Friday's lost.

Ronaldo didnt make a goal for 1 year and 4 months up to last night.

Danish players are so tall because they eat too much pork.  (I should have eaten tons of sinigang when I was a boy).

my teams, Selecao, Albiceleste and Oranje!!!

it seems that La Furia Roja is getting its title back as the perennial underachievers of Europe.  ;D
as always, the Three Lions look strong....on paper that is....  ;D

Les Blues is nothing without Zizou... ;D
1998-champs ( Zizou, 2goals), 2002 - 1st rd elimination ( Zizou injured), 2006-finalists( Zizou sent off), 2010-most probably 1st rd elimination ( Zizou retired)...

Group A - MEXICO and URUGUAY will advance :)
Group B - S. KOREA and ARGENTINA will advance :)

Going home:
France
Nigeria
Greece
South Africa - host kasi kaya hindi na kailangan umuwi :)

Sayang, the host will not advance after winning match with France due to negative 5 goal difference. Nagpatambak kasi sila sa Uruguay :(

England is finally playing like a fine Premier League team!

Hope they can hold on to the lead (could have been bigger if not for the fine plays of the Slovenian goalie).
