Bro Allan, this is really a useful capability. I do have a lot of BD Rips as well ;) but my Xtreamer and egreat m34a can't stitch together the various m2ts streams so hassle ang playback! hehe  What other media player (except TivX kasi not available locally) has this same function?  I am tempted to upgrade to the Mede8er just for this, but since there is still no HD audio passthrough, bitin pa din.

Hi Ditoy!  Bitin nga kung ganon.  Allegedly, Realtek has not obtained the license for HD audio passthrough, hence,  Realtek cannot incorporate that function in their software development kit (yet).  Kaya hintay-hintay muna.  I read the WDTV Live can passthrough TrueHD out of the box, but no luck with DTS-HD/MA yata so bitin din?    I wonder how the PCH-200 plays those m2ts streams?

Regards

I think you should press play ">" on your remote to play m2ts files in your bd rip folder. I was able to play the whole movie 10,000 BC by pressing the play button.

Subukin ko ulit tonight with the 31B.  Ano nga ba ang usual button sa remote na pinipindot to play?     ;D

BTW, how many m2ts streams are there in your 10,000BC BDMV/STREAM folder?

Just tried his with my egreat m34a, pag play ">" nga ginamit it stiches the various m2ts files and goes on to the next one. Problem is with titles like 9 and Gladiator, hindi ata consequential yung numbering ng files.  It plays the opening Universal logos, basic menus, Playstation control instructions parang it jumps and in the end never really goes into the full feature presentation, back din to the egreat GUI.

Thanks Chess.  I think I habitually press the biggest button in the middle of the remote to play anything.  We'll try if the ">" button plays the m2ts streams continuously.

As for the latest FW of the 31B, significant elimination of annoying stutter when playing high bit rate 1080p mks stored in external NTFS hard drive - so that eliminates the need to install an EXT3 formatted drive internally.   Na-sisinok lang if I do timeseek or bookmarking but that can be solved by simply pausing the playback for a very short while then resuming.   Mas smooth and effective yung Mede8er especially when playing mkvs over 25GB but then most 1080p files would be smaller than 25GB anyways.  So tumaas na satisfaction factor by a lot - kahit mabagal pa rin talaga ang initialization.   ;)

Uy that's good to know.  Ditoy yung BD files having "out of sequence" streams are those containing various versions of the films.  The possible solutions are:  a.  to buy TVIX which shows the Menu para you can select the version of film you want - hehehe b.  Replace natin ng SINGLE version if we can meet in mid March - you save on disk space too.   ;)   c.  Try to read the net about defining the correct order of m2ts stream sequences - nasilip ko lang ng konti but havent really read thoroughly - this is a common topic among BD file afficionados.  d. For single version BD movie, try to explore the HDD using a PC, identify the largest m2ts stream within BDMV/STREAM folder, then select that particular m2ts during playback - the biggest m2ts stream is not necessarily the stream numbered 000 or 001 - but it is usually the very start of the BD movie.

Cheers.

Hehe you are right, nabasa ko nga din mga tips na yan in other forums.  I am really tempted to buy the TVIX M6500 kung meron lang available locally. Or if the Popcorn C200 can do this, baka yun na lang din hehe

The correct sequence of streams for those disks with seamless branching is supposed to be defined in the XXXXX.mpls files contained inside BDMV/PLAYLIST folder.  Let's try how to read those files.  Baka by simply selecting the mlps file, everything would just play..or at least it would give you the exact numbers and sequence of m2ts streams to play.

Subok subok before considering the TVIX further...or just get the single version talaga.   ;D

I tried to play with some pure BD files with seamless branching last night.  The best I could do was to identify the correct 1st m2ts stream among the relatively bigger sized streams (by trial and error - there is no distinctively huge m2ts stream kase), and thereon, the movie played "continuously" in the correct sequence - "continuously" in quotation marks because there is about 2 sec delay whenever the player daisychains from one stream to the next - somewhat annoying but tolerable nonetheless.

Easier to identify the bigger m2ts streams by connecting the HDD to a PC first and sorting the streams according to filesize; and if there's one particularly huge file that contains the entire movie, it's not necessarily 0000.m2ts - hence, you have to identify the correct number.

External Storage

Additional external storage connections are found at the side with an SD card reader (for direct access from your camera's memory card), 1 slave USB port (for attaching the Mede8er to your PC for management and transfer of files in your internal HDD) and of course 2 USB slots for your external HDDs.

Personally, I would prefer the USB ports at the back.  I just don't want to see some cables coming from the sides in any of my AV equipment.  :-\

+ 1 ako dito Doc, yan din ang ayaw ko sa Egreat M32B ko nasa harap yung ESata Connection kaya may wire sa harap for my external HDD  :(

however, hindi naman ako nagkaka problem with playing large files including some BD files. nag lag lang for about 2 sec kapag forward ko (mayron video but no sound) after normal na din naman  :)

tempting din to buy this ganda porma if only mayron itong audio passthrough wala na sigurong isip-isip  ;D my Egreat M32B kasi can do this na  ;D

Hi Von.  Were you able to try the fix on those 2 BD titles?    :)

Speaking of HD pass-through, how do you do True HD with the Egreat?  I can only see DTS-HD Raw.

Ganda di hamak ng porma ng 32B compared to the Mede8er.   The Mede8er is really boxy and plain - but works absolutely great - sans HD audio passthrough (yet?).

Cheers!

More on seamless branching BD files.

Install a freeware called tsMuXer and open the *****.mpls files within BDMV/Playlist folder.  You will immediately recognize the correct id number of ****.m2ts stream to select and play.

This is definitely better than my xtreamer in the fast boot up and reading of files.  I haven't compared it with its network capabilities though coz I do not have a wifi dongle yet.   :P  When I bought this, it sells for P8k at eHome.

Ok na yung DTS-HD/MA downmix to DTS sa Xmas 2009 FW.   Ive watched a couple of pure BD rips and MKVs having that HD audio format successfully on the Mede8er.   Dolby TrueHD ang silent movie pa rin sa Mede8er but the Egreat can handle that just fine.
