About the PS3 BD 1080P 24Hz option
« on: Apr 23, 2010 at 08:11 AM »
I encountered some minor flickering while watching the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen BD.  The picture darkens a few notches then goes back to its previous brightness.  It was a little hard to notice at first but is evident in very bright scenes eg. the scene near the end where Optimus Prime is standing beside the Sphinx.

When I checked online to see if this had occurred to anyone else, I found suggestions related to the PS3 BD 1080P 24Hz option.  I had this option set to Automatic on my PS3. My panel is a 32 Inch LG Scarlet @ 1080P and my PS3 was outputting 1080P via HDMI. I tried setting PS3 BD 1080P 24Hz option to Off on the video settings and noticed that the flickering stopped.  The picture's brightness was steady again.

Has anybody else encountered this problem?  I just want to ask what exactly does this option do.

Thanks
