Ghost Whisperer
« on: Sep 25, 2005 at 05:09 AM »
Saw it the pilot last night. And i like it.  :)

Ever since she was a young girl, Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt), has been able to see and talk to dead people--earth bound spirits who have yet to cross over to the other side and who seek her help in communicating and resolving unfinished business with the living. Melinda sometimes has a hard time accepting her "gift," especially now that she's a newlywed and looking forward to starting her new life with her husband, Jim Clancy (David Conrad), a paramedic. Her friend and business partner in the antique store, Andrea Moreno (Aisha Tyler), is fascinated by Melinda's talent. Although Melinda embraces her unique "abilities" as a blessing and sometimes a curse, she always helps her clients--alive or dead--find emotional closure.

I 'm interested in watching this for Jennifer Love Hewitt alone.

Has this been shown locally or in cable?

nope... it just started airing last friday in the US.  ;)

if you saw the promo stills... you might wanna reconsider that reason. JLH has aged... a LOT!  :-[ i hope she looks better in the actual show tho.  ::)

I like JLH here. And the show promised to show some klibeyds to attract man to watch it.   ;D ;D ;D

Kidding aside, I like the plot. A dearly departed with unfinished business or hasn't seen the "light" seeks her help instead of the overly used plot of a "medium" contacting the dead. The gifted having a hard time explaining to the receipient the message.

They skipped the scene wherein the spouse or family members suspect the gifted as crazy or dillusional. Though, I believe, someday, there will be an episode about the husband having a difficulties  believing or accepting his gifted wife's  abilities.

The show's a hit according to it's debut numbers. That's something Jennifer Huge Boobs should be thankful for -- a career comeback.

was able to watch the pilot and the 2nd episode last night. i have to admit that i watched it primarily because of jlh, but and i kinda liked the premise of the show. it shows a different side of "ghosts", especially those who do not know that they are dead, and tries to show how people's lives are affected by the loved ones they have lost. if you have lost someone dear to you, i think you should see the series. jlh still looks good  ;), though a bit more mature this time around.
