Question to BD experts
« on: Oct 09, 2010 at 12:06 AM »
Hi, I really don't know where to put this thread but I hope somehow I can get an answer. I went to MCS to visit Watt Hi-Fi and I passed this area where pirated dvds are being sold they are offering Original BDs for 800, curiosity bit me and tried to check it out since it is kinda less expensive considering they are sealed. However I asked the lady if she have some opened BDs she showed me IRONMAN2 I looked under the disc and I didn't see any bar codes or label under it. I was wondering, are they pirated BDs? or it is normal that some BDs don't have any of that under the disc. Hoping to get some insight of some expert on BDs.

These could be BD's burned using a PC (a blank BD is around P400, I think).  Haven't seen or tried one though.

@Verbl Kint

this only means that they are so close in pirating BDs =) oh well for 800 pesos I would rather buy used Bds some Sealed. Good thing I noticed those missing marks under the disc The packaging are so  inviting though. Thanks Sir.

I have a question...

Kung may BD (bluray), bakit meron pang DVD na kasama?

 ???
May you get everything you want, but nothing that you need.

Para sa mga late adopters. Kung wala ka pang BD player, pwede mo pa panoorin yung movie using your old DVD player until such time na magka-BD player ka na.

Yes, OK and mga triple play BDs (BD+DVD+Digital Copy).  Usually, mga disney and pixar films ito na lagi gusto panuorin ng mga bata.  So pag gusto panuorin ng mga bata ulit, dun na lang sila sa DVD player sa living room namin.  Pag BDs kasi we have a viewing room sa taas na naka set up home theater.  And pag may out of town kami pwede naman bitbitin yun mga DVDs lang at panuorin sa car.

One thing good pa about triple play e pwede mo na ibenta o idispose yun old DVD copy mo ng movie.

These are the 25GB HK copies. Since it only has 25GB capacity, some of the special features maybe missing. Stick to the genuine bds. Mas mura pa actually.

Question sirs.. I recently bought a PS3 in Australia.  Can the 'Region-Free' BDs play on that PS3, which plays only Region 4 DVDs?

Thanks in advance for your reply. :)

If the bd disc is region-free it should play on your PS3.

The Australian BDs follow Region B (UK), and yes, there is a Region 4 DVD (different from Region 2 - UK).

Thanks coastal for your reply.
