Nawala bigla yung intensity. Nagkabaligtad yata yung Episodes 9 and 10. Just my two cents.

For the past 3 seasons, episode 9 ang "big" episodes nila. The death of Ned Stark was episode 9 in season 1, the Blackwater battle was in season 2, now Red Wedding for season 3. They use the finale as parang "breather" after the big, intense episode. The ending of this isn't as kick-ass as the previous 2 seasons though.

And the season before that, the birth of the dragons. I was hoping this year it would be Lady Stoneheart a.k.a. zombified Catelyn Stark but oh, well, baka next season pa yun.

I wonder if the actor playing Hodor is happy with his dialogue.

my guess..

game of thrones s1
clash of kings s2
storm of swords s3 s4
feast of crows s4
dance with dragons s4 & 5
the winds of winter ?
a dream of spring ?

the events of feast of crows overlap with dance with dragons so we expect these two books in one season. the last two books haven't been published yet so there's no way knowing how many seasons there will be..

the showrunners already said estimate nila at least 7 seasons, tingin ko 8, george r.r.martin is trying to finish the saga bago sila magpangabot ng hbo series (george martin repeatedly said na alam na niya how the story will wrap up its a matter of connecting everything nicely na lang daw)

I think masamang tao tong si George R. R. Martin! Lakas mang trip at manakit ng puso ng tao.
Ang trip nya, i-counter palagi yung prepredictable. Pinaglalaruan lang tayo bwiset! Sakit sa puso, di tuloy ako nakatulog!

I'm thinking if there will only be 7 seasons, the latter seasons should have more than just 10 episodes.

Im hoping for 20 episodes per season and get it over with.  Hehehe.  Too much waiting for a 10-hour season and the kid actors and actresses are growing up too fast.

I read an interview nung mga showrunners, sabi nila mahirap recreate faithfully yun book kasi sa dami ng characters they fear people would loose interest in watching the tv series dahil sa dami ng susundan (as currently constructed, sa household lang namin minsan some would need a refresher on whos who sa hbo series, hehehe) and they couldn't make more than 10 episodes per season bukod sa it would be financially hard they all would work whole year round nonstop

Pwede din nga nilang gawan ng prequel, yung story naman ng "Mad King", how he reigned and how he died, mukhang interesting kasi sa kwento ni Jaime doon sa nakaraang episode kung paano namuno at namatay si Aerys II Targaryen. Mukhang magiging maganda din ang twist.

I'm currently reading A Feast for Crows and they added TWO more families/story arcs to follow: That of the journey of Asha/Yara Greyjoy and the Martells of Dorne.

I have a feeling that the arc of the Martells might be written out/truncated.

Most likely mawawala nga yung ibang arc sa libro and other characters. It would be a very extensive TV series if they are going to tackle all the sub plots. Yung iba naman not as interesting. I read all the available books twice now and there were parts I was tempted to skip pero napigil ko din sarili ko. hehehe

This series deserves its own thread :)

First of - all 5 books are great and HBO's first 3 seasons are excellent TV adaptations of the first 2 books plus the first half of the 3rd book.  G.R.R. Martin is the new J.R.R. Tolkien (even better IMHO).  GOT is LOTR for adults.  Can't wait for the 4th season.

One reason I like GOT is even though it is fantasy, the behavior of its characters mirror our society in particularly those in power be it in the corporate world or the government.

Take for example the counselors Petyr Baelish and the spider Varys - they are exactly the type of rumor mongers, secret whisperers, and influence peddlers that thrive in the halls of power today.

The manner Cersei outmaneuvered Ned Stark in the struggle to succeed Robert Baratheon could have been some coup de etat in Africa or our own Edsa 1 or 2.  Lots of desperate maneuverings, unlikely alliances and backstabbing happening in the background.  And of course, those with more guns (spears and swords in this case) do prevail.

Good thing we have no Joffreys but we have far too many Cerseis, Tywins, and Baelishes in our world today. A Ned Stark wouldn't survive in today's society either - too ideal and vulnerable.  What we and Westeros need is a Tyrion or in the case of the Philippines, a Daenerys with real live dragons at her command.

It's such a rich world G.R.R. Martin created and save for the dragons, white walkers, and black magic, it's all very contemporary.

I bought the books at Fully Booked The Fort.  They have the large hardcover, large softcover, and small softcover editions.  The softcovers can be bought as a set while the hardcovers have to be purchased individually.

If you like medieval history, Game of Thrones has much more in common. For instance, Cersei's character seems to be inspired by the formidable Margaret of Anjou while Tywin is none other than the Kingmaker himself, Lord Warwick.
