nakita ko lang tong ad sa sulit,do you think these are legit bd's?the seller said these are authentic bd's made in hongkong.nakakatempt kasi yung price,hehe.

btw, i've played Spiderman-3(widescreen) again on PS3 and compared it to the GAMER movie na DVD-9 copy, bat kaya napaganda ng quality nun sa GAMER (fullscreen) ?

from what i've read, its still not feasible to pirate BD's because of expensive BD-R's and BD recorders.

those from HK or China are not really BD but are actually DVD's which are encoded in the AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) format at 720p .

Try playing these so called BD's in your DVD players and im pretty sure it will be read by the DVD player.

Anyhow, i've bought some of these discs in nice looking BD boxes (metal cases) @ 70 pesos per disc in our place and the picture quality is quite good in my 42" LCD.

It's not feasible, but that doesn't mean pirate copies in true BD discs don't exist.

High def fakes in AVCHD came out around 2008, and they were reported on the web in the same year. Unfortunately, those reports are outdated, as there have been fakes in true BD discs since last year.

And I'm pretty sure AVCHD discs will not play on any DVD player.

To play AVCHD discs, you need a BD player that is AVCHD-compatible (not all BD players can read AVCHD).

There is no DVD player that can play AVCHD.

Those discs are standard DVDs. They were sourced from BD, transcoded to DVD format, then burned on a DVD disc.

Check on your PC. File structure of DVD is different from AVCHD. DVD video container is VOB (Video Object); AVCHD video container is m2ts (MPEG-2 Transport Stream).

Picture quality of the P70 Quiapo cross-converted BD to DVD?

As long as you have a static picture, the picture quality is good. But once the picture moves, the motion cadence error is obvious.

When picture is static, quality is the same as a regular DVD. When in motion, regular DVD is better. Therefore, regular DVD is still better.

On the other hand, picture quality of an AVCHD 1080p is astounding for such a small file size. Almost the same as a real BD, as long as the movie's runtime is not too long.

These are BD copies from China. BD talaga and same quality in terms of PQ and SQ kaya lang 25GB discs lang ang ginagamit kaya some of the extra features are missing if the original content exceeds the 25GB capacity but now they're coming out with 50GB versions para buo na. Kaya lang better buy the original kasi lalabas na mas mura pa rin if you're patient and wait for prices to go down or somebody sells theirs at bargain prices.

.............Na-a-awa nag ako sa mga bumibili...akala nila value for money (ri-ni-review pa nang mga pobre doon sa isang website nang pirated discs..he-he) ...di' kasi nila kilala pa si Catwowman at si Anya..

Kung mag tsa'ga ka lang mag hintay dito sa mga sellers nang Bluray....Mura na...brand new sealed pa....at Original pa.....

OO' nga pala may nag-be-benta rin dito nang HMV daw na music DVDs, at mukha nang mura sa presyong naka post....pero kung nag qui-quiapo ka....alam mong pirated iyun....at nag-kalat sa Quiapo...at ang presyong malaking malaki ang pinagtubuan.

pirated ba yung hmv dvd's na binebenta dito?meron din akong concert dvd's from quiapo.ang nakita kong difference sa actual pics.yung sa akin may chinese charaters ata yun sa packaging,yung sa nagbebenta dito wala.kaya i thought na legit dvd yun

noon naalala ko fake dvd.. 250 isa sa quiapo... dvd5... tapos meron sila tinatawag na... original....500pesos.. nung huli nalaman dvd9 pala.. hehe

Sana lang lahat ng DVD movies nasa DVD9 format at hi-bit rate para mas maganda PQ(at mas mura) ! Para walang nabili ng mga jack sparrow dvds.

tapos yung ibang titles nakakandado pa sa cabinet kasi bluray copy daw. 25 gb. sabi nung tinderong maranaw "original fake ito ser. this is the real deal"

I wanted to start a new topic about this. Luckily I dug this up.

I was very unfortunate to have been duped to buy a "hong kong" blu ray by a seller from Sulit. Newbie lang ako nun sa BD e. Yun pala japeyks. Nalaman ko na lang after a few weeks kasi nun ko lang talaga nicheck. Blu ray talaga siya kasi my PS3 recognizes it as a BD ROM.

Anyway, kulay dark blu/black-ish yung ilalim ng disc. Tapos yung isa, Transformers na white casing na may tatak na Blu Ray then nakalagay sa cover art "HD-DVD". I was so stupid to not have checked it all so I was also at fault. I got 5 fake BDs pa at 500p. Sheesh. I'll charge it to experience na lang to help out other collectors who are just starting.

There are FAKE/PIRATED/BOOTLEG Blu Rays. Hindi DVD9 but real blu rays. No such thing as "Hong Kong" version. Stay away from those bootleggers on Sulit. In fact, I want to take them all down nga if there's a way just to discourage the spreading of those pirated blu rays.

I'll probably contact my friends in the IPO and notify them about those sellers.

- compression issues. pictures might be a bit pixelated in some area or there's a lot of 'noise' in the background due to this issues.
- there's no extras, behind the scenes. alternate ending, bonus, spoofs n what not to be included in the pirated BD.
- interactive menus might not be working properly.
- that feeling of being cheated after you're willing to spend money for original product just because you can or to show support for the industry.

"How to differentiate between original Blu-Ray with the pirated/imitation copy?"

- that's one tough questions. If were looking for small defect in quality over cover-art, boxes, or special edition boxes it hard to tell due to a lot of these material can be made look exactly the same as the originals.
- well when you bought the disc you might only get 1 disc instead of 2 as shown on review sites.

(for example like when one of my friend who'd bought The Ultimate Matrix Collection. on first look it was exactly the same... yet out of the 7 disc that he suppose to get, there's only 6 of em. What's missing was The Matrix Digital Copy (an extra copy of the already supplied BD but on DVD -could be seen on this link: The Matrix Ultimate Collection Youtube Review)

truth be told, we need to research more in this subject of differentiating between originals n imitation since a lot of us are buying BD movie online & didn't realise we were spending our good money on scams & fake product.
