PS3 or an Entry Level BD Player?
« on: Feb 13, 2011 at 07:40 PM »

Guys I'm planning to buy an Entry Level BD player. Kung kayo ang pipili mga sir, PS3 or bili ng Panasonic BD45 which is an entry level bd player? I read sa mga reviews wala daw ethernet or wifi yun BD45 so i cant access BD live tapos walang multichannel analog outputs.. If PS3 ba can experience 5.1 surround basta meron receiver?

Anu-ano pa ba ang entry level na BD player na out sa  Philippine market tapos affordable like bd-45? Para i can check their reviews.. Im planning kase to buy this week or next week.

Thanks in advance! :)

if you value bd live then hands down dont get the BD 45 as it does not have it, i own a BD45, other than the BD live, everything else is worht it especially the PQ.

if your into gaming, then hands down get the PS3, it has more than waht you are looking for.

Get a BD Player. The PS3 is okay but for me, I feel watching movies there will definitely shorten the lifespan of it. What's good about getting a PS3 is that you have the best of both worlds, gaming and HD movies.

An NMT is okay but most of the titles are only 720p.

I own a PS3, a Panasonic BD45 and a Meder8r NMT :)

to add to PS3's functionality, it now can play mkv high def files directly, without a need of a PC or PS3 media server...AC3 audio can be decoded, have to test a dts format later.   :D

Is this included in the latest firmware?

Problem:
Several of my Blu-ray all of a sudden are not working on my ps3. Updated naman yung firmware of my ps3. Ok naman Siya when I first bought the Blu-ray disc few months ago. But now I want to watch it again ayaw na. I tried yung ibang disc ok naman. Ps3 reads it but when I press play, it show the usual warning sign this Blu-ray disc blah blah then pitch black na yung screen. I can see the ps3 reads it so I thought mabagal lang pero wala parin. Yung iba load agad. Any one can help with the problem?

Note: I upgrade my TV to a 4k TV.  But I don't think that's the problem. I thought sira yung disc but I doubt it kasi 2 or 3 of the disc I played same problem. Yung iba ok naman. Help please.

Could be a faulty lens issue?  Nagwowork pa ba sa disc games ang PS3 mo?

Kailan pala yung last update nung ps3? Baka meron dun sa last update that disabled reading of certain region discs. Other than that wala ako maisip na pwedeng cause

Seems its detecting something on those particular discs

Clarify lang. Is it one disc lang or several discs. How many out of your whole collection wont play?

Sometimes kasi ganun. I dont think naman nasira yun disc mo. When you update to latest firmware a couple of your discs especially the old ones sometimes will encounter a problem. Kaya i have a ps3 and standalone. Marami na cheap player ngayon like the pioneer.

So kung ayaw sa ps3 i try it sa standalone. Sayang kasi yun movie disc especially if you love that movie hehe. On standalone players im running a batting avg of 99 percent that it will play my discs. However, i havent tried my old or watched discs. Im trying to finish watching my unwatched movies before going back to my watched ones. So far naman ok lahat.

I will have to try all my blurays. Out of the 4 that I I tried, 2 ayaw.

Was thinking of getting a Blueray player. Yung basic lang. I don't need it to be 3d since my TV ain't. Even Hindi Siya WiFi capable because yung tv ko smart tv. I just need a Blu-ray player that can play all my disc and can play my external hard drive up to two terabytes.

Any recommendations?

Then again I might as well wait for a 4k bluray player since my TV is 4k

Yun pioneer meron cheap model mga 4 to 5 thou ata. Plays region A bluray and all region ang dvd. Ok na for a player. Meron din players sa sony, lg etc. I dont know how much.
