Nag install ako ng samsung 2tb f4 bundled na with movies last weekend. Nag marathon for 8 hrs straight closed ang hood all the time. No heat issues walang aircon sa sala lang kasi at 2pm in the afternoon pa, from time to time kinakapa ko surface ng hd600b. Kung anong init nung first hour till my last movie at 8hrs ganun pa din. Proud and happy with my himedia. Planning to get hd200b sa bedroom.

You should try touching the hard drive inside.

wag matakot masira bro, pwede naman siguro ipawarantty incase nasira due overheat when hood is closed?

3 months Lang unit warranty ko, eh tight budget gift for my mom who loves far from me. Siguro pag nandun na close na siya. My pamangkin would surely be watchIng it for hours.

SAMSUNG f4 seems to cool faster  than caviar when I let both stand after cloning disks, so I'd send an f4 with it.

May few who request for screenshots , busy sa dayjob mga bro so am hOping someone  can a  post?

Hi Guys,

has anyone tried the BD Menu? did you ever get it to work? if yes what title?
I know its version 1.0 pero so far from my library na ISO and BDMV walang menu eh.

Anyone had a chance to use digitag disk services, ok ba quality?

Bought one last week. Paired with a Seagate 2tb 5900rpm hard disk. Tested BD Menu with AVS HD's Calibration Disk (blue ray iso), working naman. Wala pa namang heat issues akong naeencounter but to be safe, binilhan ko na rin ng USB Fan from CDR King.  ;D

I have to say this is a very good player. Tested it with downloaded video test files and it played them flawlessly, even yung corrupt videos dun sa test files. Supports downmix of multichannel audio para sa mga walang receivers gaya ko.  Been enjoying this media player linked with my LG 32LD460.

Right now I'm finding ways para gawin syang NFS server para maadminister ko yung content nya through its gigabit LAN instead of USB. Hassle kase 'pag lagi kong tinatanggal sa TV stand yung player tapos kabit sa PC para maglipat ng mga files, tapos balik ulit sa TV stand  ;D. File transfers through samba eh around 92Mbps lang pumapalo.

92Mb(its)ps = 11.5M(bytes)ps SMB transfer speed is "typical".

Just remember to weed through the marketing talk from real world performance.

These are low powered processors so expecting it to perform like a PCs gigabit performance is naive.

That's where the tweaking part comes in. To take it above "typical" performance.  ;D

Agreed :)

Among the various file transfer protocols for networking, the fastest way seems to be via FTP followed by NFS and SMB being the last.

Problem is SMB is the most convenient so I too strive to get the best performance using SMB.

Now we can delve into tweaking issues like TCP Rwin or even concepts using Jumbo frames for ethernet.

Sadly I can't take my HD600B's MTU past 1500. When optware finally gets to the firmware, I'll try to benchmark NFS, SMB and ftp.

For now, I'll enjoy what this monster was intended to be -- a media player!  ;D

Not yet. But based on the manuals, they should work. Might as well try them tonight.

Based on the latest firmware (1.0.3.0) I managed to unpack, it contains drivers for Realtek based chipsets -- rtl8192 u/cu/du series, rtl8187, rtl8712. I have the rtl8187 (models LP-9287, LP-9287c, LP-8187e) based wifi dongles I bought a long time ago at CDR King. I'll try to test them to see if they are properly detected and loaded by the HD600B, the model with the built-in wifi that I'm going to take out once the warranty expires.  ;D

if you mean aspect ratio, yes it can 4:3, etc

what i mean is, for movies with 2.35 ratio (with top and bottom black bars) and you would want zoom only the vertical scale only to remove the black bars... or for movies with 4:3 ratio, you would want to zoom the horizontal scale only so you can fill up the sides of a 16:9 hdtv... although ordinary zoom (like 2x, 4x, etc.) can fill up the screen, but it keeps the aspect ratio therefore you would lose some parts of the pic (overscan).. with xtreamer, you can zoom by adjusting only vertical or horizontal scale, you fill up the screen without losing any part of the picture.. i'll definitely get a himedia player if it has this feature...

Finally got time to use HD 600B before i send out to my mom.
Can anyone confirm the following:

With the optical connected to SPDIF to a HTIB, i keep on hearing a click each time i change audio. is this normal?

No Audio goes to HTIB when playing DTSMA BDMV.

How do you show simple menu (ie. scene selection). it says BDJ profile 1.0 only

I don't think HD Audio can be transmitted via Optical connection. Can your HTIB decode HD Audio?

Sorry i did not put how i am setup.

I'm hooked to both HTIB (optical) and LED (via HDMI).was thinking it should be able to downmix even at two channels papunta to an HTIB(illl doublecheck settings) and  to HDMI, shouldnt it downmix man lang with that set as so?

I'm just cycling between movies before i ship it to my mom and napansiin ko HD Audiio has no audio on either optical or HDMI.

If you own an HD600B and got this to play, pa share naman screenshot ng audio settings.

TIA

No I don't own a 600B though I was initially interested in it but the Mede8er 500X 2 has now changed my mind. If you have the media player audio setting set to "pass through" then that would be the cause for no audio in both the optical connection and HDMI connection since your TV cannot decode HD Audio signals and the optical connection is not capable of transmitting HD Audio. I think if you set the media player to "downmix" (could be a different term depending on the player) the audio then theoretically should now be transmitted by your optical connection and your TV connected by HDMI should now have sound.

The 500X 2 is not yet available locally but Mede8er is one of the most reliable media players with good firmware update/development. I have the older 500X which has been problem free since day one.
