suggestion to CD player buyers from pier

suggestion to CD player buyers from pier.

Try to get components which are made by the same manufacturer as you CD player. Maybe you might be able to control the cd's function through the system remote. Some compos like Onkyo have a mini mono headphone jack in the back to sync the components with the amp as a system controller. Then you can control the components with the amp's remote

guys, this would be the ultimate surplus CD player.  it has a tubed output stage, so no need to buy a MF x10-D.  i have the amp version and it sounds amazing.

Actually, www.norh.com made a similar product (CD-1) recently that instantly became a hit among audiophile. too bad, I learned about this when they stop marketing the product and just fulfilling back orders.

hopefully sa pier pero tsambahan lang... usual asking price dun ng CD player is 2.3k but you can haggle to 2k.  dun kasi sa pier di nila alam kung anong unit ang maganda, so usually depende lang sa itsura.  kung mukhang hi-end model, ibebenta nila ng 2.5k.

I am using a Yamaha CD player CDX1000 with very heavy construction I got for only 2k at the jap surplus shop near our place a year ago.  This CD player weighed as hefty as a moderate-powered amo.  It has solid copper chassis/bottom and thick anodized aluminum all around, separate power supplies for each L and R DAC.  It's virtually immune to any vibration even when tapping directty onto the body, the lens won't skip. If you can find one like that and  it still works, get it.  I just use it as a transport connected to an external DAC/processor.

Has anyone noticed if there are Rotel CD players at the pier?  They'd be a steal for anything less than 5k.

i got a denon dcd-790 at the pier for 2k.  it has 20 bit, 8x oversampling.  it says "lambda Aslc" on the front panel, whatever that means.  it uses an npc sm5841 digital filter, 2 burr brown pcm61 dacs, a discrete buffer, and what appears to be a sony transport.

haven't properly listened to it yet.

HMR CPs range from 1800 to 3500.
I think mas mura sa pier.
Brands: Teac, Sony, Panasonic etc.
Got my Sony ES 5 disc player from HMR for 2k. Very satisfied. Medyo tsamba nga lang nung nakita ko sya. Nasa ilalim talaga.

i think dcd 1600 uses 20bit oversampling sigma chip. I have a denon dcd 850 that uses the same chip. it plays cdr/cdrw. before getting it, make sure to bring with you your cd/cdr/cdrw and audition it there. there is no chance you can get a good sound demo there in pier but atleast be critical on the lense's performance. ;)

Thanks julsp168,

I tried some of my cds but it did not read any of them, there may be a lens problem. I took the yamaha natural sound CDX 620 rs instead with 18 bit dac 8 bit oversampling  , optical and digital out., all metal case. I cannot find the model in the internet though, the nearest is CDX 596. Its ok naman so far.

hello,

Hey mods I know this isn't the right forum but these guys are talking about CD Players so here goes...If any one of you guys is interested in a classic SONY CD PLAYER MADE IN JAPAN. MODEL: CDP-311, Rated Best Buy Status in HI-FI Choice way back in 1995. This is my 1st decent sounding player and plays CD-Rs fairly well. It has a remote control and both are in mint condition. I bought it at 8T way bak then. Any offers? :)
