Samsung LCD TV washed out display Problem

Hello there, mayroon na ba sa inyo nagka-experience ng mag-washed out ang display ng lcd tv? My samsung lcd tv (bought Nov 2006, 32 inches, Bordeaux series) display suddenly became washed out. I tried turning it off and on again. The display returned to normal but after a minute the display became washed out again. On the average, how much ang repair sa samsung authorized service centers ngayon?

im guessong you have a problem with the inverter board. With 32 tv's these days costing so low, you might be better off selling your tv and just buying a new one.

the service of samsung might be cheap but the parts might cost you around P10k.

We just had our old Samsung 42" Plasma LCD serviced by a Samsung tech at home last month.  May fixed diagnostic fee na Php 600.

After the diagnostics, he said that the parts would cost around 12k.  So, I just chucked the TV, tinabi ko na lang and bought a new 32" LCD.  Anyway, that TV was old (2005 model), 480p nga lang ang resolution and it weighed over 80 lbs.   :o

Of course, repair cost would vary depending on the TV and parts to be replaced.

okay ba ang Samsung warranty/services? I read before na palpak ang services nila. I just can't remember anymore kung samsung in general ba o samsung mobile phones lang. either way, I hope it's not true.

saka pinupuntahan ba ng samsung sa bahay kahit sa province o metro manila lang?

my 4 years old 32r81b (bought may 2007) has the same symptom 4 months ago. nong dinala ko sa samsung service center sa paranaque, and diagnosis is defective na ang t-con board. ang problema di na available yong t-con so wala ng chance marepair yong tv ko.

ang good news (nalaman ko sa service center) may guarantee pala ang samsung na dapat repairable pa ang lcdtv nila 5 years from the date of purchase. since within 5 years period pa yong tv ko, iniapply nong service center for compensation (that's how they call it, its like asking for rebate) ang requirement lang kelangan mapresent ko yong receipt. nawala ko na yong receipt pero naayos pa rin kasi pinatrace namin sa samsung yong warranty card and nasa record nga na almost 4 years pa lang yong tv ko.

in short after more than a month of waiting and follow ups naapproved yong request for compensation nong tv ko. they pulled out the tv and after a week they deposited a check to my bank account amounting to Php 29,945. not bad for a 4-year old tv! i spent only Php200 for the service center diagnosis at konting sakit ng ulo kakafollow up, kasalanan ko rin kasi nawala ko na yong resibo.

since nov 2006 pa magpa 5 years yang tv mo baka maihabol mo pa. sana lang may copy ka pa ng original receipt. yan kasi ang proof na less than 5 years pa yang tv mo. pag sinabing wala ng available parts yong tv mo para marepair, ikaw na mismo ang magtanong sa kanila kung  qualified pa ba yong tv mo for compensation kasi hindi lahat ng service center sasabihin sa yo yong about compensation. hindi ko alam kung hindi talaga nila alam o ayaw lang nilang sabihin sa customer. kung taga south area ka, wag na wag kang pupunta sa las pinas service center (weatronics) kasi sa kanila ko unang dinala yong tv ko ang sabi agad palit panel. since same street lang sila ng paranaque (lenwon) idineretso ko don at sila nga ang nagsuggest ng compensation. goodluck!

unfortunately, that compensation is only given to those whose tvs aren't repairable anymore.  since repairable pa tv mo, you are not qualified.

Have your TV checked by an authorized Samsung service center. In my case I called samsung and they scheduled a technician to do a house call. The one assigned to me is from the Greenhills service center which is the nearest to my place.

They checked my TV and as discussed here in this thread, the T-CON board is the culprit. The technician said that there's no more T-CON board available and adviced me to just go ahead when asked by the service center  if I wanted to have my tv repaired. Greenhills service center did contacted me to confirm if I still wanted to have my tv repaired. I said yes. They quoted me around 5500 for the T-CON board.

As a formality, the service center said that they will wait for the spare part to arrive for at least a month. If no spare part arrives then that's the time they will process the compensation.

I suggest to call samsung hotline again and have them scheduled you for a house call. It will cost you 600.

Thank you!  I will bring my defective Samsung TV today to the nearest service center.  Do you need to pay for the spare parts in advance? Or any downpayment required?

I also found today the receipt and warranty card.  Keep me posted if Samsung have processed your compensation and how tedious it is.

@ezkerovalatzky, hindi ko alam kung pasok sa tanong mo tong sagot ko pero share ko na din..

last year pa nangyari.. i have Samsung Galasy S i9000.. nung nakita kong parang hindi pantay ung calibration ng screen..pinacheck ko sa service center and talagang pinakita ko ung problem ko in hands on.. nakita naman nila pero mukhang hindi ata masyadong nakikinig ung staff nila.. which after ng explination, susulatan na ung form para ma process na ung repair.. akala ko ok ang lahat pag uwi ko dnouble check ko ung form, mali pala ung nasulat na problem sa form.. i said nung pinakita ko mali ata ung calibration pero ang sinulat ng staff lcd ata.. so tinawagan ko sila agad, then sinabi ko ung mali.. then ok na.. after 1 week(medyo natagalan ako dito).. dun na sila tumawag ok na daw ung phone.. pag punta ko sa service center and chineck ko ung phone.. ok na daw tiningnan ko na and S*** ganun parin ung lumabas.. parang walang naayos.. pinakita ko ulit ung problema ngaun sinabi ko kung pwede paki tawag nalang ung tech. para ma explain at mapaliwanag ko.. i doubt kasi na alam ng mga staff sa service center ung mga ibat-ibang problema, minsan nanghuhula lang ng isusulat sa form eh.. nung dimating na ung tech. na gets na ung problema ko at sabi sakin na alam na daw nila ung totoong problema.. so aun i waited nanaman for 1 week.. so 2 weeks na wala ung phone.. nakakairita na, tumawag na sila.. ok na daw ulit.. tapos nung kinuha ko na.. ok na naman.. madaming pinalitan and stuff daw hindi ko alam kung ano-ano.. then when i check my phone.. may scratch na sa likod.. medyo naiinis ako kasi kabago bago almost 1 month palang ata sakin ung phone nun.. nagkagasgas na, halatang hindi iningatan ng tech.. pero aun sabi ko what the heck irereklamo ko pa to baka 1 week nanaman.. so aun lang.. un ang review ko sa service center ng Samsung.. haha.. i dont know kung ganun din sa TV.. i know same service center lang din naman ang mobile at TVs.. No you don't have to pay in advance or a downpayment. In fact i still have the tv with me. They will charge you the same 600 whether you bring the tv in a service center or have a tech come to your home.

@*G* - dapat nagsend ka ng formal complaint against sa service center na yon sa samsung. at least nakarating sa samsung admin yong concern mo. eto ang email address kung san ka pwede mag send ng complain [email protected] actually nagsend ako ng formal complaint sa kanya against weatronic, twice kasi sumablay sa akin. sumagot naman sya ewan lang kung may naging aksyon.

medyo sablay talaga ang aftersales ng samsung. sumakit nga ulo ko kakafollowup dati don sa compensation. daming palusot. buti na lang nakuha ko lahat ng name ng mga nakausap ko sa hotline nila, magkakaiba kasi ng sinasabi. so sila pinag-usap usap ko kung ano ba talaga. nasundan pa after 2 months na nasira naman yong samsung ref (still under warranty) ko tapos tumagal ng 2 weeks bago nila narepair dahil sa pasahan. kaya nga kahit binayaran nila ako don sa lcdtv, hindi na samsung ang ipinalit ko. ;D

It took me 2 months and 1 week to have my defective tv compensated. They paid me 20780.

you have to call for repair to determine if the tv is fixable. If it is not due to non-availability of the spare part needed, the service center will process the compensation. In my case, even though they already know the spare part is not available, they still ordered for the part and we waited for a month for formality sake.

After a month, they filed the application to samsung. It took another month for samsung to process. this includes several follow up with them.

they will have the tv picked up and will ask for your bank account number to deposit the compensation check.
