arcam - you're in luck if you still want to try the FL-D trick - the filter is available locally - in Canon service center in SM Megamall (5th floor, near Upscale Audio)

Kaya lang ay 58 mm lang ang available na size (should fit outside thread of AE-100). Price is around Php1,100 bucks.

You can also try the  SM Appliance center in Rockwell Powerplant (but they don't stock FL-Daylight filter - but they can order this for you).

Good luck

strider,
did the ae100 come with english manuals?
if we buy from pricejapan, will the local panasonic service centers repair the units?

nope but you can easily download from the net.  also you can change the menu in the unit itself from Japanese to English and the credit card sized remote is English.  Not sure about local Panasonic warranty.  Might wan to call them if you want to know their policy.

cruiser,

You're probably better off buying locally if you do want the AE100.  Buying and shipping from Japan might be cheaper but might be a bigger headache in case you want a replacement unit because of dead pixels.

Da-lite is distributed by Island Photo and their head office is in Legaspi Village.  The only screens they have in stock is the Matte White 1.0 gain and only in limited sizes.  Fortunately, this was the exact screen I was looking for...

Their price is reasonable and they have pretty good service.

I got a 100" 4:3 Matte White as my projector's native format is 4:3.  If you want to go 16:9, I suggest making your own screen using blackout fabric from Shell Canvas.

You'll also want to begin thinking about a masking system for the screen.  I use two pieces of plywood covered with black felt, strung together with a pulley system.

hey thanks for this, I called AVID and their Draper Luma is around 25,000++ grabe.

they however have a Korean brand Viewtech and their 7'x7' is around 5,700, their 5.8'x5.8' is P4,500 only. Installation is not free (P800).

odyopayl are you asking kung available stewart screen kay all visual or available dito sa metro manila? sa all visual when i bougth mine wala pa sila stewart although im not sure kung carry na nila now,my friend told me before na stewart and dalite ang medyo naglalaban sa screen pero di hamak na mas mura yung dalite kaya mas common sya. Stewart offered to me before by LISTENING group.

mahirap yata maghanap ng 84x84 but to give you an idea, i bought my 70x70 Da-lite model-B/white for 4,5k at The Brain Megamall. they also have 96x72 for 15k. i settled for the 70's cos my room is a bit small, 16sqm., 4m. throw.

I also had difficulty looking for a 84x84 screen.

Wow, my room is smaller than yours and I will be using an 84x84 screen. I hope it will fit my room and we wont feel dizzy watching  ;D

Mga bros, minimum viewing distance para hindi mag likot mga mata nyo at hindi mahilo ay  dapat 2 times the width. For example kung ang width ng screen nyo ay 70" dapat ang viewing distance is 140". Pero i know a guy who watches at a very short distance, para lagi daw big screen ;D ;D ;D

ricky,
if that's the case, tama lang pala bili ko ng 70" para sa room ko.

marlai,
that's 5th lvl. beside mega tradehall entrance, in case you dont know.

matzter,
ok na din mas malaki sir, anyway you can zoom-in naman anytime. mas mahirap pag maliit screen nabili mo tapos nabitin ka sa size. :)

I installed the Panny 900 last night with the 84" screen and watched with some guests last night. Nobody complained about any dizziness or if the image was too big. It was just right at 3.5 meters distance from the screen. I think this is due to the AE900's higher resolution so you can watch it closer without noticing pixels or getting dizziness.
