I'm using SC1 for the center, SB3s for the fronts and SB1s for the rears.  However, I'm using a Def Tech Pro Center 100 for the rear center (too expensive if I opted for another SC1, frequency range and wattage of the Def Tech is quite similar to the SC1, timbre difference not too noticeable) since this channel is rarely used due to limited number of dvds with DD EX or DTS ES.  Unfortunately, they're not made in the US but in China unlike the past NHTs.
As for performance, I'm very pleased with my purchase of the NHTs and have no complaints whatsoever (very happy with its 2 channel performance for music).  They also look very nice due to their glossy black piano finish.  It took me more than a year to finish the setup but was well worth the wait. :)

I had a pair of Superzero Bookshelf speakers and an SW2P subwoofer. Unforgettable siya. Sweet and Silky ang highs, and uncolored ang mids. The sub blends perfectly with the superzeros. However, if you don't use them in Sattelite-Sub mode, and depend on your processor's crossover, it kinda loses it magic. But overall, they're a superb combo.

Sold it along with my old B&K Sonata Amp, and QED passive pre-amp to a friend who really wanted to go into hi-fi.
You wonder why it still not good enough after spending P1M.

I bought the SC1 in electronics depot libis (when it was still open) and SB3s at electronics depot in festival mall.  Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact prices since I bought them a long time ago.  The SB3s is around P30,000 while the SC1 is P15,000.  Electronics Depot gives pinoydvd members discounts (I'm not sure up now though).  The SB1s were bought in the US for around $300.

any comment on the NHT SB2 bookshelf speakers? I've seen several models of this brand at the Electronics Depot. Quite a looker but can't comment on its sound quality for now....

This SB-2 model sports a 6.5" polypropylene, high excursion woofer in a sealed-type bookshelf.

audioslave. I already heard this speakers, and to tell you the truth it really sounded good, buong buo ang sound although it's a little, just a little, bit bright. It was attached to a marantz receiver at that time. Sa electronics depot festival mall ko napakinggan. and they were playing a cd that time. Galing ng tunog.

NHT SB-2 sells @ 23.9K net

what i know (correct me if I'm wrong) is that if it is a sealed type speaker, it should have a tight and taut bass with soft and sweet sonic quality and considering that it is NHT, we must Now Hear This.... pretty baby... and get to see if it really sounds good just like its whopping price for a small bookshelf. :o :o :o

the saleslady was a little surprised though when i said, wonder if my amp can drive these (they were using a marantz sr4300)

"bakit Sir? ilang watts amp nyo?" - 9 watts (max)  ;D

i left her wondering if i was pulling her leg, she was probably thinking "ano yun? transistor radio?"  >:D

Hiya Audioslave!

Mayruon palang NHT sellers sa Pinas :) Electronics Depot lang ba? Anybody else? I'd like to check them out when I come home by next month. What other brands do they sell?

BTW, nasagot ko na ang tanong mo about the used NHT speakers I'm selling ;) in the For Sale section.

drexx,

yup, Electronics Depot ang dealer ng NHTs dito sa pinas. they have branches at Festival Mall and Robinson's Galleria located at the East Wing of that mall. They also carry Marantz, Acoustic Research among others. kaya yung presyo mo na 26K for the SB3, SC1 and the Last Stand... sure winner na talaga yung buyer mo nyan.

wala nang palitan ng presyo yan ah... he he he!!

Iceman,

When i went out my neighbor was blasting his system to kingdom come...hoping to let the citizens of Mongolia hear his sound system

anyways here the conversation that took place

I said "HI .... what subwoofer are you using ?"
Neighbor  : " I have a PANASONIC Complete system .......want to see it ?
Qguy  :  "sure"..
neighbor  : "It has 2 subwoofers  with 7000 WATTS PMPO"

qguy checks out the subwoofers...theres 2,  and  each box has two  6.5 inch yellow woofers in each box....
those thing put out a lot of SPL for their size !!! seriously !!! a lot !!!

qguy : "I said wow 7000 watts...your system makes my system looks puny..."
neighbor  : " why ?... how many watts does your system have"
qguy :  20 watts....ands it very old... made in 1974
neighbor : "Really ?"
Qguy ...yup  just 20 watts

anyways so I listened for a few minutes... and left...

next day...my wife saw blasting away  to kingdom come hoping the people of Alaska would hear her disco music  (mas malayo ang Alaska kaysa sa Mongolia.  :D   ) and she saw the neighbor just outside the door listening.....must be wondering  if I was telling the truth hehehehee

I heard from others that Dynaudio and B&W are selling well dyan sa Pinas. Bakit hindi NHT? Dahil kulang sa dealers? Or sadya lang mas magaling ang mga companies na iyon?

For my part, I became a big fan of NHT because I auditioned several of them, with my DVD concerts and audio CDs, and they sound as good as those that were selling for more than thrice the cost of NHT speakers! Then I asked around also, in my friends' houses, and they attested NHT is the best bang-for-the-buck among audiophiles.

And also, check this out: NHT is coming out soon with another set of high-end speakers, with built-in DSP's on the speakers.

NHT SPEAKERS
I have'nt seen any thread or discussion regarding the NHT speakers, that's why I took the liberty to create and  start it. (Mod if there is, paki merge na lang and my apologies)

Last night, I had the chance to listen to NHT SB-3 speakers since I have been intrigue by the good reviews that I've read about this speaker. I've even encounter a review comparing the SB-3 with 3 other speakers including the highly celebrated and regarded Usher 6311. SB-3 beating the usher by a very minimal margin.

Anyway, I was at electronic depot Robinson's manila last night and heard the SB-3 played. I actually requested a side by side audition with MA B2 displayed on their showroom. First, we  auditioned the MA B2 since its the one already set-up in their showroom. It's connected to a Rotel RA-02 amp and a denon cd player. The music that we've played is "When you get lost between the Moon and New York City" (not quite sure if that's the title of the song but I know everyone knows what songs I'm refering to). With the MA, the sound is so crisp, clear and very detail, though the low is a little bit lacking. Soundstage was also very good. Immediately I requested to switch the speaker and use the NHT SB-3  and played the same songs. My very first impression was that the soundstage became much bigger as if the room becomes bigger. The instruments details present in the MA was sitll there but this time they're somehow separated at a wider distance. The bass is so full as if it's not a bookshelf speakers. Overall, in my mind and in my opinion, the SB-3 beat the MA B2 in every department by quite a noticeable margin.

Of course the cost of MA B2 compared to NHT SB-3 is almost just half. But the looks and sound is just so enticing. I wonder how this speaker will sound using a tube amp (sensitivity is a little low as compared to B2).

Just my two cents..
