Parehas tayo brod ganun din yung Konzert 502A ko, tingin ko parang monoral yung pontentiometer nito, minsan nga pag papakinggan mo ng maige, parang hindi balance yung L/R niya. though its a good loud player kahit yung DIY na immitation BOSE 502 single 15" bass driver at 302 - 2 / 12" driver 8 ohms series connected bass bins ko kayang kaya, basta wag lang baba sa 4 ohms. I'l planning to add a karavision DVD player para tuloy ang saya sa christmas at new year...

Brod,

My friend has that set up and heard it, yung combi of this DTX and 502A amp, kaso lack ka sa bass you have to add, additional subwoofer for HT, kung pure audio listening medyo yun nga kulang sa low freq.

Try mo ibang brand, like same sa KonZert. saan mo ba gagamitin? HT or audio lang?

Bro, If I were you I'd rather spent the 10T for dedicated equipment instead of getting the set audio/video system. coz you cant upgrade the integrated systems. if you want the "Konzert" brand better go for the starter HT/A/V/Karaoke set up (eg. 502A amp, KSS10 speakers and generic DVD players) it will cost you a little over 10T but the performance is quite better, clearer and louder than those small konzert "cubes" looking speakers.

but thats just an advice still the final word is you...

Brod thanks for your comment and want to share also with you that the speakers are not that small because it consists of 2  3-way floor type speakers with 200 watts rating with built-in 6" sub-woofer and  2 surround speakers with 100 watts rating and 1  3-way center speaker of 200 watts rating. I just don't know then if the amplifier is already the latest from konzert because it has a tuner already and a remote and fully digital. I auditioned it already and from the discussions i saw in here...there's no problem with these 5.1 ampli because if you choose to have the sound in whatever channel and you'll here to that channel only.

Well sir if thats the case I think its a good system for a starter setup and the brand "Konzert" has good reputation based on my expirience with it, by the way the 5 HT speakers of "Konzert" is at sale at Raon for Php.3,200 (2 tower, 2 surround and 1 center) for the sub you got to choose from a 12" (P6T) and 15"(P8,5T) all powered subs. But still you might want to audition some system like the "Daichi". then have a killer jewel cubes ala "BOSE" system now on display at SM megamall showroom and the Euro5 is coming out soon...

Check first your TV sub-out if its compatible with the AMP (eg. RCA etc...), but I doubt it will only produce a mono signal without lowpass filter. by the way, whats the brand of your TV? will you use the amp to power your sub? if this so I think its possible but without the xover switch, but you can easily use a active or passive xover network...

I havent check the latest model of KonZert AV amp yet, but I think the AV300R is already out for quite sometime...

thanks hans and by the way my TV brand is AIWA......the connector is not an RCA.....it is just like a big PS2 connector........i think the sub is a passive one because it has no power...it is directly connected to my TV. Is it still possible to connect it???? BTW, I bought konzert AV502.

If thats the case, if you connect your TV sub out to your amp it will be in cascading circuit. also your goin to have problems on the input connectors because i think wala naman nabibili adaptor for that kind of connectors. Anyways it is like feeding the amp input signal with another amps speakers output. Your amp will be recieving an input signal producing variable voltage gains, my advise is, dont do this because several components of your amp is not designed to be feed like this....

Congrats on your purchase of a 502A...

AV502A has a subout producing a monoral signal without lowpass xover frequency, that means it is producing a signal as if in mono without cutoff frequency. so I can say it is not a subout but a pre-out on mono...

Anyways it has no problem naman, you can still connect the subout with the active subwoofer. Sa back plate amp nalang ang adjustment para sa lowpass frequency cutoff. by the way yung konzert active subwoofer has this features..

Anyways as an advice on what speakers to be used on your AV502a amp, try kss-10 its a professional speakers system and you can match it with a konzert active subwoofer, your choice of 12" Php.6T and 15" Php.8,5T. its great on loud and clear power, but as a precaution it is really very loud...

enjoy your audio gears...

Heard lately the KonZert 15" powered subs, though sounded like a professional bass bins (punchy!), it might over power your towers or bookshelfs... cant say the freq cut off trimmings though medyo hindi maganda yung environment (noisy) when I auditioned it. maybe theres an improvement depends on the acoutics on your audio application.

I dont recommend it for indoor application though, but its upto you, coz for me parang ang hirap ng positioning nito, sa free-air palang medyo boomy na lalo na siguro pag wall or corner loaded, plus the bulky construction medyo malalim ang depth ng buffles...

Happy new year too...

Okay, to settle all your ? regarding Konzert AV500 here is my little review:

Bought at Raon last Feb 2004, for P4,500

Specs:
100wrms x 2 front (F)
050wrms x 1 center (C)
050wrms x2 rear (R)
basic DSP features: Hall, Room, Concert, etc.
NO BUILT-IN DECODER! NO COAX/OPTICAL IN/OUT!
with inputs for F, C and R from any DVD player's built-in decoder output
20 preset fm stations
digital INDIVIDUAL volume controls for F, C and R
digital bass/trebel tone controls for front only
digital balance l/r control
analog mic vol/tone/echo control
mic input x 2
full-function remote control

SET-UP AND PERFORMANCE:
I used assembled front speakers with 12" Crown woofer, 5.5 Konzert mid and metal dome Konzert tweeter.  No crossover, I just used capacitors for mid and tweeter.  Previously I tried using a passive crossover but poor sound, capacitors are better!  For the center and rear, I used non-branded "Jordan" speaker set, with 80watts and 89db sensitvity ratings.  I dont have subwoofer.  My DVD is Xtreme player, the "pioneer-look-a-like" model.  My TV is a surplus 32-inch Sony wide screen with double tuner.  So how does it sounds?  GOOD to a little bit of very good for movies.  FAIR to good for music.  Overall, the sound is smooth.

COMMENTS:
1.  The main volume WILL NOT CONTROL the C and R channels!  So everytime you adjust the overall volume, you have to adjust each channel INDIVIDUALLY.  This is very annoying.  Another thing, since the volume and tone controls are digital, the settings will return to default everytime you turn off and on the unit.  Very inconvenient because you have to set-up everything again everytime you turn-on the receiver.
2.  The FM section is not good, poor reception and noisy.
3.  The Built-in cooling fan of the receiver is quite noisy, it is audible in my listening position during night time use.
4.  Very loud "thud" sound when you turn-off the receiver.

MY VERDICT:
I sold it to my cousin last week for P2,000.

MY PRESENT SET-UP:
I just bought a Yamaha RXV-550, its an awesome 6.1 receiver at 90wrms into 8ohms x 6!  Got it from Ambassador-Greenhills at P19,800.  I still use the same speaker set-up above.  My next project: Soundquest active subwoofer, 150wrms at P8,000 pesos hopefully I can buy before xmas.

Ü

Hi,

Just bought a Konzert AV600R
Specs the same as AV500 above except for

150wrms x 2 front (F)
100wrms x 1 center (C)
100wrms x 2 rear (R)

-When the main volume is changed, the Center, Rear and Sub Out volume also changes.
-The FM section has good reception - clear and strong. (This might just be because of my location)
-The Built-in cooling fan of the receiver is quiet
-No thump when turning the receiver on or off
-When in stereo,3 or 5 channel mode, sub out has signal even when input is set to fm/am/aux (to me this is a good thing). Also, sub out is unfiltered.
-The settings return to default (e.g. all volume settings return to -50db) everytime you turn the unit off and on. Some settings are remembered - channel mode, source selected, selected radio station.

I liked the Sakura 387a but the difference between front and the other channels is too big AND its looks won't match my other gear  :)  I was able to audition the av300r and av600r side-by-side at the store. I didn't like the av300r - maybe it was just not powerful enough for the 450 watt konzert speakers the salesman plugged in.

Very nice for HT. Not as nice as my brother's TOTL Yamaha but good enough for me (for now?)  Ok for stereo audio, even better when using 3 or 5 channels - it's difficult to describe but, for audio, I still like my pier sourced vintage setup more. I haven't checked suitability for karaoke and party level music.

Currently, the only thing I don't like about it is the inability to remember settings. Sana merong facility for loading/saving all user settings  ;D. A more comprehensive user's manual would also be appreciated. Will post further comments after I've used it for some time.

****EDIT
-Mas maganda rin pala kung almost all functions can be accessed even without the remote. With this receiver, kailangan ng remote for setting loudness, dsp mode, channel mode and selecting preset radio stations
-Nasubukan ko na ito sa karaoke, ok na ok!
