First Image Released From The CW's Arrow
by SuperHeroHype
March 19, 2012

The CW has provided us with the first image from Arrow, starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen and Arrow.

After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime.

Arrow’s suit was designed by three-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood.

Arrow pilot director/executive producer David Nutter said: "When I directed the pilot for 'Smallville,' I knew that making Clark Kent relatable would be the key to audiences believing in him as a hero. 'Arrow' is a different show -- darker and harder-edged -- but it's the same core idea. We're creating a real, believable world in which Oliver Queen can do incredible things. Colleen Atwood's great work on the Arrow costume reflects that effort."

Arrow is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter, who is directing, from a teleplay by Kreisberg & Guggenheim, story by Berlanti & Guggenheim. Melissa Kellner Berman is co-executive producer.

Arrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television and is based upon characters appearing in comic books and graphic novels published by DC Comics.

Official show description:

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

The series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.

Based on characters appearing in comic books and graphic novels published by DC Comics, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Green Lantern,” “Brothers & Sisters”), Marc Guggenheim (“FlashForward,” “Eli Stone”), Andrew Kreisberg (“Warehouse 13,” “The Vampire Diaries”) and David Nutter (“Smallville,” “Supernatural,” “Game of Thrones”). Melissa Kellner Berman (“Eli Stone,” “Dirty Sexy Money”) is co-executive producer. The pilot was directed by David Nutter from a teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim, story by Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim.

I think I can best describe this series as "REVENGE" with "BOURNE"-type action sequences.

Seriously, the avenging a dead parent-list of people to take revenge on-introspective narration thing is direct from Revenge. Maybe he's the cousin of Amanda Clarke. But I enjoyed it!

Enjoyed the pilot.  Very very good!  The actor playing Ollie seems perfect for the part.  Excited to see Green Arrows signature boxing glove arrow in the future.   ;D

Interesting to have that Deathstroke mask in the first two minutes of the pilot.

Parkour style! Action scenes well paced. Impressive. Actor decent but appears to mimic Christian Bale's acting style.

New Footage From Upcoming Arrow Episodes
Source: The CW
October 14, 2012

Fresh off its triumphant series premiere which was the most-watched new show debut on The CW Network in over three years and also the most-watched telecast of any kind on the network in three years, the new series Arrow (Wednesdays 8/7c on The CW) struck a Gotham bulls-eye today during its first-ever appearance at New York Comic Con.

Just days after the show’s launch, Arrow stars Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen), Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) and Willa Holland (Thea Queen) appeared at the show’s panel session and unveiled an exclusive, action-packed highlight reel created specifically for NYCC, featuring a sneak peek at footage from the show’s first nine episodes:

Supposedly Sundays at 8PM.

Not bad actually - it airs Thursdays in the States (Friday morning here), then is aired on JackTV after 2 1/2 days.
