I did not bother with the USB games as i have a Wii and 360 already :-)

Yes i tried wired lan, with wireless mouse and keyboard and it worked.  Only downside is the wireless keyboard is not working on html text areas/ input, only works on url location at top, maybe this will be fixed by a firmware update if there will be any.

Did not try wireless dongle, as i was not impressed with the browser as no flash so i did not bother to buy the dongle.  Its P1,500 as SnS same price at Skyworth.

Low power consumption is always good news :-)

SnS does not give pirated movies as its against the law :-)

3D, yes i got dizzy at first but im used to it now.

sir deathwing, do they have an explanation why this tv cant play sbs using an external media player? what a bummer i was actually considering this tv because of its sbs playing capabilities and its 120hz refresh rate.

Just watched john carter 3d. Pretty good in depths. Though am looking for movies that gives the effect that figures come out live from your tv. . . Agree, my eyes are getting used to it.

How do we solve the bleeding?

The current firmware does not have the capability to play via external media player.  Though a firmware update may fix this issue.

Sa 120hz, I weigh mo nlang ung current prices at specs ng competitors vs dito para maka help sa decision mo.

Ung Panasonic, deeper blacks, very good picture quality at 120hz, at 35k pero plasma kaya malakas sa koryente at mahal ang glasses kasi active, 1 year warranty.  I suggest you buy this if hindi mo masyado gagamitin ang TV at konti lang ung gagamit ng glasses.

Ung LG nman, LED tapos Smart TV talaga at 120hz kaya lang 53k nman.  This is the best to buy if you have the money, 2 year warranty.  Tipid sa koryente, maganda picture quality at mura glasses kasi passive.

Sa gaya ko na katamtaman lang ang budget, napunta ako sa gitna, itong Skyworth na 3D LED at 60hz for 40k, 2 year warranty.  Kaya ito binili kasi 6 to 10 hours ang gamit nito sa living room, bale ito ung pang harabas ko, tipid na sa koryente, 2 year warranty pa.

Sa pop out ng movies, seems ung mga animated movies ang mas may pop out, tapos ung mga normal movies is more on depth.

Mga may more pop out na try ko is Alice In Wonderland, IMAX Under The Sea, Open Season, Despicable Me, moderate pop out, Monsters Vs Aliens, Tangled.  Mostly IMAX movies more on pop outs sabi nila.

Kung ung backlight bleeding gets really annoying, pwede nman cguro itawag sa Skyworth, may 2 years warranty nman ung set.

The Skyworth 3D is 120hz, not 60Hz. All 3D TV requires at least 120HZ for acceptable resolution when rendering 3D video.  :D

Hi Sir,

This Devant 3D TV is only 60hz
http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php?topic=158565.0

I really want this to be 120hz though I called Skyworth at 555-1555 and they said its only 60hz.

I guess the best way to check this is to compare it side by side with the LG 6200 and the Skyworth E62 which has a on and off for 120hz as this model has no 120hz on and off.

Actually, I was the one who set the settings for Skyworth at the SnS showroom that is when I tested the model.  The best picture quality I could find at the time was the LG 6200 so I made the settings of the Skyworth E96 to be as close to the LG 6200 as I can get, though I remember the contrast was 90 and DNR was Medium because it had the most film grain then. :-)

You're talking about Fast Motion, right? 120hz mode that artificially adds and shows more frames on a normal 2D image/video (soap opera effect).  Not 3D itself... which, takes 2 pictures (left and right) and have to show both in the same amount of time 2D mode would have taken it to show.  I think you're mixing the two.

Yes, i think i am mistaken by believing the 120hz is for the fast motion/ soap opera effect that i see in the demos. When i see 120hz on the shops and even on the LG and Samsung websites, they display how good and smooth looking 120hz is compared to the standard 60hz.

You are correct, the 120hz fast motion or soap effect is what i am talking about and i think others who plan to buy this TV are looking for.

What I believe this TV is:

3D mode - 60hz per eye (minimum for all 3d TVs - 120hz is required for a 3D TV to display 3D video in 60hz)

2D mode - 60hz (not fast motion/ no soap opera effect) normal refresh rate

So in 2D mode, 60hz sya, in 3D mode 60hz pa rin ung nadidisplay nya, kasi kailangang 120hz ang 3DTV para ma display nya ng 60hz ang isang 3D video.

This is what I understand of this TVs specs, based on comparing the Devant 3D TV, calling Skyworth 555-1555 and looking at the TV itself.

That's right. 60Hz at 2D.

Though the 120HZ trumotion reduces motion blur in action scenes, some people prefer to turn the trumotion off (if option is available) to eliminate the artifact video "soap opera effect" where it makes movie sets look cheap and can make film look like video.

Skyworth's 60HZ is capable enough to manage the fast motion blur.  :D

Skyworth can play 3D thru its built-in USB connectivity.  :D

It cannot play 3D with external 3D media player.  :(

as far as i know external players directly connected cannot play 3D even plugged to AVR then to Skyworth. But using PS3 with Bluray 3D will work. Same goes for any 3d bd player.

Para skin, napaka wlang kwenta nila pag gumawa sila ng 3D TV na hindi gagana pag nag play ka ng 3D Bluray disk from a 3d Blu Ray player, kasi un lang ang legal way dahil ang movie files (avi, mkv etc) ay pirated.

This week, bibili ako ng PS3 at i uupgrade ko ung dashboard ng 360 ko para sa 3D, i will give you feedback on how it will play, hopefully, it will play :-)

Just bought a PS3 and testing, testing...

Tried playing Uncharted 3 3D with this TV and its works fine.

Also, i watched Kung Fu Panda 2 3D (Blu Ray 3D disk) using my PS3, and again, it works with this TV.

Thankfully, it works.

Ok, so playing 3D games and watching 3D movies using PS3 via HDMI 1.4 cable works with this TV and like shockHT said, I think a Blu Ray 3D player will also work with this TV.

Hopefully a software upgrade will also enable playing of SbS movies via an external device will make it work.

as per sir vic's reply dito, 120hz on applies to 3d viewing, 60hz lang pag regular 2d use :)

Tanong:
Ano po ang refresh rate (120hz or 60hz) ng TV na ito pag 2D at pag 3D?

Sagot:

No.  Well... I think it doesn't.  Then again, this is my experience with a different but similar set.  (tried enabling my laptop's 3D on a 3D TV screen via software... couldn't get it to work)
