The ProMonitor satellites avoid this critical problem by pressure-coupling our exclusive BDSS technology driver to an equal-sized mid/bass radiator cleverly placed on the top of the satellite. This technique doubles the lower-midrange radiating area of the speaker without increasing the size of the enclosure. Small enough to disappear in a room but beautiful when in plain view the 1000 satellites can be shelf-mounted with their unique tri-lobed base, wall-mounted using the built-in keyhole mount or an optional articulating pivot mount or stand mounted with their optional ProStand 1000 floor stands.
The Sound
Sonically, the ProMonitor 1000 satellite is a revelation in terms of achieving incredible sound at an affordable price. Operating from a technology platform that has won Nuforce numerous awards and rave reviews, Nuforce’s Second-Generation Icon is an audiophile-grade Integrated Desktop Amplifier featuring two 24-watt outputs for speakers, a 3.5-mm stereo input for connection to an iPod or other portable device, a USB DAC (24bit/96KHz high resolution) for converting digital music from the computer, and standard RCA inputs for employing the Icon as the heart of a conventional audio system. For the headphone enthusiast, the Icon also offers a high-performance headphone output.
