Been hearing some good reviews for this model ...... seems like stocks are running low due to the demand.

Anyone know of QUBE showrooms south of Manila e.g. Alabang, Laguna, etc ?

KTC rin pala ang gumawa nito...

check this out...:  http://www.ktc.com.cn/products/ledtv/42/2052.html

Interesting to note that they are advertising this as using an LG panel. I was able to speak to the sales rep today and he candidly discussed that they were asked by their boss before to open up the tv to know the panel used for this. He said that when they opened one unit, it was using an LG panel. We would not know I guess until we see for ourselves. Maybe suggest for them to keep one unit in the display room witht he backside exposed so customers will see for themselves if it is indeed LG or not.

LG supplies flat panels for a good number of brands.  However, take note that LG supplies panels of a design from previous years and not current ones.  They also sell reference designs of their older panels to some manufacturers (mostly in China).

Bought a unit last week and so far Im satisfied.

Some observations:

Cons
- It has backlight bleeding. Visible only if the room is very dark and if the scene is dark. Played a file which has a smaller screen size (all four sides with black borders around 6 inches per side) this was when I noticed the mild bleeding on the side near its corners. Played other movies but did not seem to notice this.
- Start up time upon powering it on - it will display first a splash screen with reference to its Qube brand. Around 3 full seconds before normal screen appears.
- Keyboard that comes with it is quite small. I dont know maybe I am just not used to using a small keyboard but I find it's quite a chore to do stuff with the keyboard. The trackpad is either too small for me or is not really that responsive. (Tested with a logitech mouse and the responsiveness issue is no more). Planning to get wireless Logitech keyboard mouse combo.
- TV volume is not that great. You have to turn it up to 40+ to better hear what you are watching. Likely reason why they threw in a 2.1 system to the deal.
- Switching from TV to Android - takes time for Android system to boot up around 10 to 15 seconds I guess.
- Browser - Comes with Google Chrome - once you type an address you have to click the go icon for it to respond. "Enter" from keyboard does not work.

Pros
- PQ in general is acceptable. HD movies definitely a step up from my 32 inch sony lcd. Watched NBA finals today and I appreciated the larger screen size. Watched Pacman's fight with family last Sunday and they were quite happy with the experience. Watch around 5 movies over the weekend and I am quite happy with my experience.
- The 2.1 system included in the package is quite good. Sound quality is comparable to an altec 2.1 system.
- Net TV works well. I was able to watch some youtube videos yesterday.
- Comes with games - plants vs zombies, angry birds, etc
- Have seen my brother's 42 inch Sony internet tv and I can say that browsing is much better and more user friendly for this unit.
- USB port that can play mkvs - used 500gb hd usb powered and works great no lag whatsoever.
- Price

Hope this helps

Bought this tv last week and I'm fairly satisfied.
Pros
PRICE
brightness
Sharpness
Good ergonomic design for price point

Cons
Low contrast ratio
Squishy remote buttons
A little screen bleed

My only real issue is the sub standard remote. Since this is actually a rebrand of a Kensington technologies tv, would anyone know what brand universal remote this would work with?

PS I don't use the android o/s

I am using Harmony 650 for this. So far so good. Used the learning function of the remote as the TV is not in Logitech's database.

Hope this helps.

it seems this tv has inconsistent quality. mine has good contrast ratio but the backlight bleed is very noticable.

you might have a defective remote. mine works fine, although some buttons activate my nmt. upside is i learned to use it to my advantage, only 1 remote for the qube tv and egreat nmt.  8)

Thanks for the suggestion but the harmony seems like overkill for this led. I'm wondering if the generic remotes in cdr king or ace Hardware has the same learning function as the TV is not in their database.

The rated contrast ratio of this display is 1400:1 which is low. However watching it, you will hardly notice because of sharpness and brightness ;until you see grays to blacks etc then you will notice the gradients.
The backlight bleed is there but so does other more expensive tvs. You may just be more sensitive to it thus it bothers you more.
As for the remote, all my buttons work, but from the build quality I know they won't last. They are actually hard to press sometimes. I think squishy was a wrong description, my bad.

Just bought last Friday August 10 and spent two nights enjoying this.
Bought a P990 Atech Remote Keyboard and Mouse from Electroworld and had wonderful time browsing the Internet.
From my Acer Iconia A500 Android tablet, used File Expert to create APK of my favorite programs, copied to a 16gb thumbdrive, then connected to USB 2. Selected APKInstaller then installed my favorite programs. Now it's working like a big Android tablet (except no touchscreen).
I AM RECOMMENDING THIS TO ALL, LOW PRICE, NICE FEATURES.

Sinubukan ko ung wait kaso ayaw pa din mag play ng video... bakit kaya lumalabas ito at hnd ako makapanood. Minsan kahit check lang ng picture ayaw. eto din ung lumalabas.

^unplug mo muna mga 15 minutes then try again. also try another drive. papalitan mo tv kung ayaw talaga.

yung sa kin naman parang split screen, i recently noticed that the left side is darker than the right, and the difference in brightness (contrast?) seem to worsen everyday. anybody with same screen problem?

My tv shuts down by itself after a few minutes. I unplug it and after a few minutes it works naman. As days go by paiksi ng paiksi ang interval between power up and self shutdown. This just a few months after warranty. Buti pa yung LG lcd ko 6 years na buhay na buhay pa. Haay...

UPDATE: May nakapa akong hot spot behind the tv, nilagyan ko ng fan. Di na sya ngayon auto shutdown, for one movie at least.

To other Qube 42" TV owners I suggest putting a fan on the upper rear vent, doon kasi ang hot spot (failing component) and hopefully ma-prevent ang problem that I encountered.

share ko lang bad experience ko dito..

nasira remote ko.. since di siya nagana sa cheap universal remote.. try ko order ng replacement..
sabi P500 pero ako pa shoulder ng shipping fee kasi taga bicol ako.. so ok na ako dun..

then thursday nagdeposit na ako ng P660 via metrobank. then nag txt na ako ng mga details ko name/address and payment details. pero i got no reply from them.. so i think ok na yun.. kasi nabigay ko naman details..

then friday.. txt ulit ako.. walang reply. so i think baka delay lang.. then wait ako until monday.
so now monday , wala pa din!!!  so i decided magpa load na ako.. kasi naka alltxt for 1 month lang ako.

maybe you can ask the bank to furnish a copy, you can then forward it to qube as proof of payment.
