1.4 hdmi version in a non 3d player. will it work?

im planning to upgrade my hdmi cable to 1.4 version. im using 1.3 for my non 3d ps3. will it work? mas maganda daw kapag 1.4 version ang hdmi cable. help. is there really difference between the two?
