StockHT- saw the videos. The 2nd one was bitin pero it was good enough to show the 3D capabilities of the player.  Informative post to those who are eyeing the Measy X5.  ;)

I had my X5 for less than a year ( bought Jan 2012) and the only issue I had is the player froze after about 2 hours into play IF the internal HDD is "installed". Maybe it was designed in Northern China during winter that they did not include a fan. My solution is to remove the HDD and I don't have that problem anymore..

I think this problem is not innate with the X5. I also experienced this symptom in my Kaiboer and 1st Gen Xtreamer.  Eversince I did not practice putting internal HDDs anymore in my NMTs.

While it is still nice to have the internal trays if/when you need, disks  naturally is warm and over time the internal fans, if it has one at all, would still need cleaning and/or replacement. I, for one, practice disks outside, but its a personal preference coz my 5 year old NMT is still alive and kicking :) recently i replaced the power supply but that's about it.

So you mean, If the movie is more than 2 hrs. You can't finish it? I mean using an internal HDD inside the X5?

I Personally use X5 with internal HDD for more than a year now. So far so good... :D

What are the advantages of the X5 as compared with other 1186-based players?

Reposting my question.  Also, does the Measy support 4TB hard drives?

No..it doesn't support 4TB Hard drives.

Maybe it can if partitioned.

I recently acquired a 3TB external for my Kaiboer 1055 and everybody is assuming it won't recognize it. I partitioned it to two 1.37GB and both partitions are playable/accessible.

Am a little bit confused.

Read the specs of the X5, and the Measy site mentioned that it has a USB 3.0 port. But looking at the pictures of the unit, I can't seem to find any USB port which is colored blue.

Can anybody confirm that it has a USB 3.0 port, and is it as a host or slave?

Measy X5's USB 3.0 refers to a slave port, it means the disk  will be seen as a drive from your computer if plugged. so its good for transferring from your PC to the Measy X5 at USB 3.0 speeds.

It does not have an USB 3.0 host port, AFAIK

A few more questions:

Where did you format the hard drive?

What do you use to transfer the file?

What is your firmware version?

Is the nmt connected to a router?
