nice! what's the model of the PJ & what made you choose optoma from Benq or Epson?

I think none so far can touch the JVC when it comes to contrast/ black levels.

That's true sir JVC is still the king. The pj is UHD50. Aside from being able to venture into 4k realm, I want a pj that can project a 120 inch viewing size from and 11 feet 4 inch distance. My JVC can only do around 109-112. Last night I tried to set it up, and the out of the box settings are BAD! Sabi ko sarili, mukhang di ako makakatulog sa settings na ito hehe! Light portions of the movie were awesome with a lot of details but the darker/night portions had a tinge of blue green hue. Had to reset the settings because I can't change the brightness mode from bright to eco. After that I decreased the brightness and contrast to get better blacks. Lastly I turned on the dynamic black. Those changes thoroughly changed the blacks from bad to very good. IMO it may not touch the JVCs blacks but its blacks are very good.

was the UHD50 your first choice in the 4K arena? since Benq & Epson or others also have 4K XPR.
i'm thinking to jump 4K too BUT will wait a little bit when I have a permanent setup, for now the xgimi CC & Z6 will do

Actually it's a toss up between the EpsonHC4000 and the UHD50 but when the uhd50 went down pricewise, I went for the Optoma. For Benq, I already have an MH530 in my bedroom so I'd like to try another brand.

One thing I noticed with the pj on ECO is that it's quiet. Maybe the settings for those who can hear the fan(in amazon reviews and avsforum) didn't change the brightness mode from bright to eco.
