** The max contract is a bit too much for an Eric Gordon ..... I can see him becoming a very good SG in the near future (he was a beast in college) though.

** Like I said, bigs are always given premium by NBA teams ..... no surprise that Hibbert is being offered max. No choice for Indiana now - if they don't match the offer, they risk falling down some notches in the East.

** Potential huge contracts for Batum & Asik are just plain crazy ...... what does the ROCKETS expect to get from Asik ..... 4-5 successful flops per game?

This is the business nature of the NBA ..... majority of the team owners will complain about costs, revenues, parity, etc - yet will usually overpay to keep and/or sign totally undeserving players.

if these centers, who have not proven anything solid yet will be given huge contract, im sure KG really deserve what he is asking for, at his age, he is still much better than those mentioned above I supposed.

KG may not be as great as during his prime but he has not been without dedication, fire and hussle, palaging with intensity maglaro and for that im willing to pay him to keep him, he may not be able to carry the team on his shoulder just but given a very good supporting cast, as what I have been reading in previuos posts, it seems I have to be upbeat about their chances, sana yung mga rookies nila would step up early to bring fire to the team

Rondo is playing very well and with more options in the offense, he can concentrate more on orchestrating for the team

and KG will definitely serve as a mentor to their rookie big men in Fab Melo and Jared Sullinger

same thing with the Pistons, they might bring back Ben Wallace for another year to mentor Andre Drummond

Exactly .... like I posted earlier, KG deserves his new contract since he plays a huge role in keeping the CELTICS in contention every year.

He's still good on both sides of the floor ..... can score fronting or with his back to the basket ...... his defense is still some of the best in the league ..... plus, he's all heart when playing.

The CELTICS still has a slight opening in their championship window .... trying to keep their core is a good move from Danny Ainge.

The BULLS will miss Rose a good part of the next season, the PACERS and 76'ers are still relatively inexperienced & might lose valuable pieces (Hibbert, Brand, etc) ..... the HEAT's Wade is showing signs of slowly breaking down ..... the CELTICS still have a couple of years on the championship window.

+1

Boston doesn't need KG to produce stats just like in his Minny days.

but if he can, that's an added bonus already.

In addition, KG is their spiritual leader/motivator sa team. On top of that, his game works very well with Rajon Rondo's style kaya Celtics for life na siya :)

Like I said KG earned all of his previous contracts and he has won almost every relevant award except for a Finals MVP. Many mentioned he's a big factor why the Celtics are in contention every year. At this stage of his career, it's not just about being in contention anymore but the championship rings. Or so I thought. At least he didn't help the Celtics possibly bring in a another big name by eating up almost a quarter of the team's cap space. Especially since this is his last run, I thought he'd accept a much lower salary to increase their chances. Well, it is a business...

I don't expect Celts to reach the finals, pero I am very happy to see Pierce, Rondo, KG and hopefully Ray to be back playing together again. I am actually excited to see DA's movement. Mas ok din if they will be coming off the bench instead of starting (KG, Pierce, Ray).

Miami pa rin malakas sa East. Partida pa yung si Wade played with some injuries pala.

one good way to cap a very stellar career, i hope KG retires as a Celt, so Melo and Sulli are both big men? very good investment for the Celts then, Naalala ko Parish and Mc Hale combination or perhaps Olajuwon Sampson

Malakas narin Hawks, pero malaking IF.

Sources: The Nets & Magic are discussing a trade that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn for Briik Lopez, Kris Humphies, Marshon Brooks and the Nets' first-round picks in 2012, 2014, 2016 & 2018....move would give Nets Big 3 of D-Will, Dwight & Joe Johnson

Of course, that should be BROOK Lopez instead of Briik Lopez

Scratch Nets 2012 pick from potential trade

agree sir newwave.

I really admire players with big hearts in the game, everytime I have the chance to watch KG, thats something i dont miss seeing, the way I see it, siya na lang yata ang center(or PF) na may ganyang game etiquette, i love players who slug it out in defense, kase my belief most of them if not all can score pero playing defense is different, kailangan dedication

with what you have pointed above, it seems maganda p adin talag chances ng Celts next season, about Wade, he doesnt play as good as he used to be pero and mas malaking napansin ko, yung attitude nya, i liked him so much before pero ngayon, i just dont like his playing attitude

I dont think the Sixers can duplicate what they did in the just concluded season.

just curious sir, any idea who might be able to join the Celts assuming KG did not ask for an increase? I mean, sinong big name ba ang pupunta sa Celtics if ever, I certainly would prefer KG over D12 anytime of the day

NO if you'll ask me

but IMHO it's a good move for the Orlando Magic to just ship his @ss out of there and try to start all over again.

these D12 trade rumors are going to be a distraction for their team if they don't trade him asap

And that's why palagi ko yan kinukuha sa fantasy team ko.. haha! I don't think there's any center like him right now with his athleticism and physique. I hope this ends well for Howard and he can carry his "new" team to the playoffs.

May chance pa talaga yun Big 3 ng Nets :)

As for J.Lin fans.. may chance din pala na di siya mag sign sa NY Knicks. Based on what I read, New York can offer him $20 mil max over 4 years yata pero other teams can offer $40mil!  ::) ::) ::)

i think may plan ang Nets to eventually trade Joe Johnson along with other pieces to Orlando in the near future. it's either Deron + JJ or Deron + D12. if Nets GM Billy King can get D12 as well to play with Deron AND JJ, he's instantly the NBA's 2012-2013 executive of the year.

Deron, Gerald Wallace, D12, and Joe Johnson = around $70mil in salaries. not sure though about the exact figures.

can someone research on that?  :)

The BROOKLYN NETS will be in salary cap hell should they pursue a max contract core of Deron, Dwight & Joe (plus Wallace) ..... it seems like GM Billy King is just playing yes-man to the team's neophyte Russian owner.

The new CBA will absolutely punish salary cap violators, moreso within the next few years ...... it won't just be $1:$1 tax for violators ..... the tax will become incremental e.g. $1:$2.50, etc.

Best case for the NETS, owner Prokhorov is richer than Bill Gates and wouldn't mind paying tens of millions just for salary cap taxes.

Brooklyn Nets Big 3

Deron
D12
Joe Johnson

vs.

Miami Heat Big 3

Lebron
Wade
Bosh

sa Miami na ako, i really hate D12's diva attitude.

and it doesn't help that he's a Shaq wannabe IMHO.

Matindi si Karl Malone  :D

Deron, Gerald Wallace, D12, and Joe Johnson = around $70mil in salaries. not sure though about the exact figures.

can someone research on that?  :)

Rough estimate:
D12  20
Joe  20
Deron 17
GWall 10
MLE 3
+ 7-9 minimum salaries
=$77-80 mil?

Back injuries (and obviously knee injuries) are definite career killers ..... recent one is Tracy McGrady.

TMac should still be a productive player by this point ..... however, his lingering back injuries through the years have greatly slowed down his game.

It wasn't because he injured his ankle/knee badly first? Back surgery in 06 ended it (career)?
