Try Selective Audio and US Lab. IMHO I find them very good and affordable. Its a good buy if your in a tight budget. You even see them at hi-end shops and they also look good.

Guys,

I have a Pioneer VSX-5700S as my AVR.
My problem is it doesn't have a sub out. So I was wondering if papasok ba yung US AUDIO Sub sa aking AVR? Btw, may nakita akong speaker inputs sa likod ng US Audio subs. What are these for? Sabi sa Dai-1chi pwede daw, pero I didn't get what the man said! :)

How do I connect?

Thanks!

Jeremy

Hi Lancer,
siguro ibig sabihin nila is to connect the left and right speaker to the left and right speaker input sa sub then another wire from the outs of sub to your AVR maybe this thing will work. I have a Philips Dolby prologic before also no sub out the philips people customer support  told me to connect an RCA wire to the audio in/out of the tape input record para gumana yung sub. connect mo na lang either sa left or right and check kung may sounds na lalabas. :)

I hope this will works

mm2002 is right, kaya lang nabaligtad lang:

from the left and right speaker outs in your avr connect left and right speaker cables to the speaker INPUTS of the sub, then connect the front/satellite speakers to the speaker OUTPUTs of the sub using another run of speaker cables.

then adjust the crossover on the sub to specify what frequencies will be played by the sub and what will be passed on by the sub to the speakers

GAOL

Your rec out or tape out of your AVR constantly outputs the program being play be it tuner, dvd, cd, etc. This is where you would connect the RCA plug to the input of your subwoofer. This is called low level input. Another alternative is the speaker B of your AVR which you will connect to the speaker input of the subwoofer. This is called high level input.  If you opt to connect your existing speaker to the speaker output of you subwoofer, you will be using it's (subwoofer) internal crossover which usually crosses at 120hz. If you have full range speakers do not use this set-up.
Hope this will help. ;)

I used to have a Pioneer VSX 9700 and it does not have a subwoofer out so I connect my subwoofer to the tape out. The problem I noticed is the bass is somewhat delayed. Im using GK. When I changed my receiver with a sub out, the bass improved and there was no delay anymore.

sa Speaker B..high level??...dba sub dapat low?...hehehe

Kung sa speaker B nga ko siya ikakabit...then my main fronts can still stay in the A speaker inputs???

Sory for the ignorance...car audio kasi eh!!! Mas madali...

LancerV6,

High level means amplified signal. The output of speaker B is already amplified so you cant connect it to the low level input (RCA). Masusunog ang input stage ng subwoofer amp. Low level means audio signal lang. It is the same sa car audio. Do you remember the booster equalizer before where you connect the speaker out of the car stereo to the input of the booster equa? That is high level.

Basta keep in mind pag ang jack/plug ay RCA, low level. Pag speaker terminal (black/red) open wire or banana, high level. If nasa speaker B (high level), you have the option of taking the subs in/out of the system. :D ;)

Sir Alfred:

Bakit sabi ni LEVI pag sa high input (B)...masusunog yung amp ng sub ko??

Eh pag sa B ko nga kinabit? Dba may option akong patayin pa kasi na o-off dba?...pero going back to query 1??

Sir Levi:

Kung sa speaker B ko nga siya ikabit? Masusunog amp ng sub ko?

Kung RCA na ginamit ko d nde na kailangan yung speaker inputs sa likod ng sub dba?

Sorry kung makulit...thanks!

Jeremy

What Levi meant was that you shouldn't connect your high level (from speaker B) to the low level of you subs. Unless of course you solder your speaker wires to the RCA plug (ngek!).

Use only one connection either :

1. tape out/rec out (RCA plug) of AVR to low level (RCA  plug) of subwoofer.

2. Speaker B  wire to speaker input of subwoofer.
;)

LancerV6,

If you use RCA (low level) you wont need the speaker input of your sub. As what Alfred has said Dont use speaker out and convert it to RCA.

Hello all of you,
Using Dai-ichi / Targa on both HT and car audio is a big F mistake... (sorry dai-ichi)
If you need advice you can make a copy of my HT set-up here in Cebu. Here's my list
DVD player- Pioneer DV-S838A
Receiver - Yamaha RXV1
TV - Pioneer Plasma 60"
Speakers - Cerwin Vega complete package
Additional Subwoofer - Sunfire true subwoofer MKII (pls check at www.sunfire.com)
Cables - all monster cables gauge 16

So you see you need to match your HT from the receiver-dvd-down to your speakers to achieve the greatest sound possible.
And for car audio i would recommend you use the one am currently setting up on my Expedition
Sub-woofer - 6 JBL GTX/i subwoofer
amplifier - 8 Orion amplifier
detail speakers -3pairs MB quart 6 1/2 component speaker
Hope im of help to you..... targa are used in remote areas (ex. dinagat island) so it really S_ _ _s

Hi Weel-Boor, Welcome aboard,

I think the Dai-ichi is your weakest link. Get a better speaker. For the price of Dai-ichi, it would do but not in your setup.

If my memory serves me right(I am writing this based on a 1996/97 awards info), A speaker was awarded a sort of SPeaker of the year or consumer's choice whatever and if it was Cerwin , the sub contractor was Dai-Ichi.
You don't believe me???go to the Dai-Ichi Showroom at the Mega Mall and request for that article, previously it was being displayed(like some articles in a restuarant written by a gourmet extolling their food), but I guess Dai-ichii has decided to be know by it's name.
Levi, Isn't it Cerwin's are nice?? ;) :o ;D

Alfie,

I only see Cerwin in cars and for DJs. I agree Dai-ichi is the manufacturer of Cerwin and a lot of good brands.

Daichi Subwoofer?
I am looking for a new subwoofer 100-130 watts. Nakakita ako sa Park square makati, the brand name is Daichi.  The price is Php5,300. Mura and natest ko na yung sound which is ok naman, the question is yung reliability. ok ba ito?
Or kung meron kayong suggestion (like sony, etc.) ok din, just include yung model # pati price range.
Thanks!

For its (low) price, the Daichi SW could be a good buy.  How big (inches) is it?  You could probably get a better price, though, if you went to the Daichi Showroom on the fifth floor of MegaMall.
