I still have the center and surround - even the sub. kaso cannibalized na yun sub dahil I upgraded the LF filters from dai-ichi's passive to a fixed active and also they used a 7294 gainclone for the amp pero pinalitan ko din yun amp. yun sub driver na lang at yun box ang natira na orig pero ayus na ayus pa naman.

it's also true na habang tumatagal ay gumaganda tunog... yan nasa pics sobrang bugbog sa pag testing kasi kaya na break-in. kaya kung gusto nyo pa na mas lalung gumanda ang mga dai-ichi ninyo - bugbugin nyo ng bugbugin... huwag kayo matakot - lifetime warranty yan!  ;D ;D ;D

disclaimer: huwag ako sisihin pag nasira ha.  ;D ;D ;D

Hahaha!

seriously sir ano yung model ng sub mo? mukha nga matibay eh...

Actualy, im looking for a sub, planning to buy, end of this month before leaving. nasa 7 to 8k lang budget ko kaya nag hihintay ako ng magandang sub na magbebenta dito sa B & S section...

Guys, Any comments on the PL 100 model ng dai-ichi.
Another thing.
Nakalagay kasi sa web 100 watts max - what does this mean?
Ano talaga wattage nya?
Lastly does dai-ichi have different finished on their speakers?
TIA

Sir Ive seen and auditioned PL100 being played at spectra makati with AMX tube amp. hataw din sa clarity....

the rating on 100 watts max means the maximum power rating capabilities... you can load a 100Wpc avr into this speakers.

colors can be changed depends on your order. Euros series can be ordered with silver finish...

Based on past experience, di gaanong reliable yung specs na nakalagay dun.

The Euros sub, I think, never really captured that much interest because of the fact that it's a subwoofer with a bandpass enclosure. HT enthusiasts often prefer front firing subs because of better accuracy. Of all the Daiichi subs I am aware of to date, there are only two that I'm eyeing. One is the DTX 4.12 or 4.15 and the other is a new one with the Pro Linear label, I forgot the model though. These are the only front firing subs they seem to offer. I'm recently more interested with the Pro Linear sub since it had a better looking driver than the 4. series of DTX. Although I never really audition it extensively, it seemed to me it would perform better than the DTX 4. series. Physically, the PL driver looked liked it had a much better construction and I tried pushing the cone, it was harder to push than the DTX. The suspension seemed better and the cone material too. But I only had very little time to compare both performance wise.
Now, with the US Audio subs, which are also bandpass subs, are to my knowledge, the most powerful of all Daiichi subs I've heard of. Malakas talaga sya, but at the price of accuracy of course. It's very powerful at it's resonant frequency range but mahina at other frequencies. Audible ang difference in volume. I have this one at home. Hope I helped.  ;D

Thanks Sir arthurallanj, I'll scratch the Euro sub in my list, I too prefer those front firing than those bandpass front ported ones, before I had the GSX Ganzklar sub which is also a front ported bandpass design. its heavy its powerful but not that accurate, when drived it at a high SPL, it produces turbulant noice coming out from the tubes. and the cooling fan at the ampplate seems to produce noice also.

I'll try to look for those DTX 4 series, by the way what can you say about the SW150 does it performs well? Im eyeing a 2nd SW150 from the B&S section. anyways I'll try to consider those prolinear subs and US audio subs...

thanks again sir...

Glad to help, bro. Sorry but I've never listened to the SW150. I think there's a thread here somewhere about it. I think you should consider the DTX and Prolinear subs. THe USAudio may be powerful but still response is irregular.  ;)

Yup, I think there are a couple. But the one that I saw that had impressive looks was a 12-incher front-firing sub. The cone and the enclosure had a silver-gray color. I was impressed because the driver looked way better than the DTX 4.12's. The port was also located at the bottom of the sub.  ;D

Hi guys...

I will soon part with my Daichi Sub.

I removed the speakers and found that each speaker ay separated pala ng mdf board at puno ng fiberglass ang luob.

Appreciate your comments and advise... tia!

Hi bro. What amp do you use anyway? There have been many occasions, especially at night that I listen to them without a sub and during those times I'd mistake my sub to be turned on when in fact they're not after I've checked again.  ???

Hi Bro arthurallanj!
I'm using yamaha 750. Anyway, naninipisan ako sa bass ng Euros 8 towers ko, specially when I try to compare it dun sa ibang towers at Daichi Mega Mall showroom. Pag nilagay ko volume sa around -20db medyo malakas na tunog pero manipis pa rin bass (even with bass heavy music)

Maybe bro jojod818 is correct, I have a bigger room nasa sala kasi na around 4 x 9 meters. Distance nya from the wall ay around 1.5 feet.

Nag try kasi ako magplay ng walang sub.... bitin talaga, kaya gusto medyo lumakas sya. May epeckto ba speaker wires? I'm using shielded na wires (gamit namin sa mga computer installations, 3 pairs of gauge#14, tapos pinagsama-sama ko for + and - speaker connection).

Well, your room is a bit bigger than mine. It has been mentioned in some other thread that the Euros 8's bass sounds better at the showroom but bought products were apparently less bassy. The later models daw were inferior to the older ones but, we may never know. Also try tinkering with your bass settings on your amp. Music has been reputed as Yamaha's weak point.  :)

its gonna be a hit and miss thing if you do change the driver.  good subsystems are usually designed the other way around meaning manufactuers/speaker makers etc design the box according to the specs of the driver.....what you are trying to do in this case is entirely the opposite which is finding a sub driver that will mate with the dimensions of your existing box. one miss and its gonna be costly.

thanks sir, sayang im opt to buy the JBL GTO series sub drivers pa naman, but the recommended box dimensions for that sub driver is closely to what my existing DTX box, pero yung mga mahirap mag gamble... hmm ano kayang better to do????

Maybe I could help you decide. If you can give me the external dimensions of your DTX sub and port flow dimensions including its tube length, I could tell you if you're on the right track. ;) Dalawa kasi model ang pwedeng pagpilian niyan. Yung GTO or Power series. The worse thing na pwedeng mangyari kasi diyan is yung sub magkaroon ng frequency peak but it can be corrected into some extent like decreasing the port length or adding fiber fill. In my experience kasi sa subwoofer building. Almost all car subwoofer drivers stable sa 40Hz frequency more musical kasi ito.  ;D ;)
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your kind help sir...

Well, based on my software (bassbox pro)and on my first assumption, standard yung box dimensions niya for a 15" subwoofer driver. Maganda yung graph yung lumabas flat yung response niya pero cguro kung sa actual may kaunting  descripancy because of inherent room modes pero over all ok. Existing box itself was tuned @ 28 Hz.. not bad.. ;) ;) basta 4 ohms (series connection ng voice coils ng driver ha... ;D ;D). Good luck.....
