ah ok. when I was an avid observer of those car audio setup afficionados, they use 2 layers of 0.5" acrylic sheets which are bolted together.

tama ka hans at maganda nga siya pag naka clear side yun sub box. pero for me oks na ako sa all wood, but hey, that's just me.  :)

dude ang mahal ng aabutin ng cost of materials mo, pag yun ang ginamit mo. besides mahirap din puro acrylic kasi brittle yun pag bumagsak its either basag or may crack.

I think yung 3/4 thick would cost you 10k or more. then ang hirap pa ng assembly nun.

si jo,

if I would choose what material to use for a subwoofer box. I'll be using 3/4 solid stainless steel metal sheets or kaya carbon fiber coated 3/4 aluminum metal sheets para maga-ang yet rigid and strong  :o :o :o hehehe! ang mahal ciguro nun, but its just me though  ;D ;D ;D

sir you can try asking sa mga plastic sign maker kung gusto mo ng cut-size, although i am not sure kung may 3/4 or 1" thick sila.

I once asked them about those inconsistencies. One major factor daw is the suppliers. They say, they often have to keep production up even though some components are unavailable, and they are forced to replace it with similar ones. A particular speaker system bought a year ago may not be exactly the same with one that is bought this year. Some are modifications to also improve cost-effectiveness or performance. You could also contact them about it especially if these inconsistencies are present on the pair you bought. My DTX 9.5 towers has a thicker cloth grill than my friend's who bought it later than I did, then mine has grill attachment holes at the back, his doesn't. I think okay lang naman if the pair you bought is consistent, ang masama is if within the pair, one is different from the other.  :P

Did you buy from an authorized dealer? I've always suggested to friends here at PDVD to buy Daiichi products from Mike of Moses Aaron because I've always had a good experience with him and he goes the extra mile for service. He's not the usual salesman na basta makabenta lang, he makes sure that you're satisfied. Better luck next time, bro.  ;)

Share ko lang experience ko sa Daiichi speakers I had way way back. First set-up ko was all Daiichi, 5.1. Yung center na binili ko pinasok ng magnet yung 34' TV ko, sabi nila magnetically shielded daw. their technician went to the house for 3-4 times to study what happened. Fortunately, ang lawyer nila ay kapitbahay ko so I was given more attention. For what happened, they gave me a sub asw-10 as a gesture of apology na hanggang ngayon nasa akin pa except for the main speakers.

baka "batteries not included"?  :P

 ;D ;D ;D

The case of the old stock and new stock purchase..... hehe. Na timing ka lang bro na you got one from an older stock and another from a newer stock. You should make a complaint though, I think, even though these are entry level items, I'm sure you've worked hard for your money and should get what you've paid for. But it's up to you bro, it may be inconvenient to you. Some may not think it's worth the effort, some may. But this is how changes are made, right?  Ingat, bro. ;)

MGA SIR ASK KO LNG PO... BAGO P LNG PO KC AKO WITH THIS HOBBY AND BAGONG KASAL DIN AKO AT THE SAME TYM... LAMO NA MEJO MAGASTOS, E SINCE ADIK NMAN TLGA KO SA HOMe theater, i still pursued on buying my ht set... ang first kong binili is a generic brand ng sub wuth 5.1 speakers w/c at the end nagsisis ako kc ampanget tlga ng tunog and d sha decoded... so i bought a semi decent receiver para decoded nman ung tunog. tapos ung dati kong mga speakers from my crappy 5.1 ang kinabit ko dun... eventually, i noticed na pumapalakpak na ung mga front kc 10 watts lng pala un...

The sound quality (SQ) of a speaker has nothing to do with the speaker power rating, the power rating (10 watts on yours) just tells you how much power the speaker can take without burning. It has nothing to do, too, with how loud your system would sound (SPL).

BTW, how much is your budget? Wharfedales are very affordable and sounds good. What AV receiver are you using?

Hi sir, first of all welcome to the Club!  :)

First of all if ever sir baka pwede ka mag post ng budget para mas matulungan ka namen. now, in regards with your speakers, frankly speaking, IMO, wag mo na pansinin ung baffles mo dati kasi kung papalitan mo lang ung mga speakers e, baka mag karoon ka lang ng mis match sa speakers and crossovers na baka mas lalo ka pang mapagastos, and kun di naman e baka mas lalo kang maasar kasi mas pangit pa pala ung tunog. try your search talaga with a new set of speakers, alexg  has a good point on the wharfedales, mura and maganda ang tunog, but that would still depend on your budget.  start with a good set  of fronts and center where your going to be happy and that your budget allows, huli na ung surround.

ano nga pala ung reciever m sir? how big will be your room? and how loud do you plan to listen? and agen how much is ur budget po?  :)

Hi, bro, congrats on the marriage thing and welcome to the club. I've learned the hard way when I decided to get into this hobby, never had too many friends who were into this thing then, and I never found out yet about PinoyDVD then too, which would have saved me a lot of money, trouble and time. First, I've learned that there are some things that just can't be compromised. Everything about your system has to be decent, at least, for you to be satisfied. I suggest, getting speakers that would fit your budget but speakers that are decent. Speakers that are made by reputable speaker manufacturers, not speakers that are made by anybody like some unknown chinese brand. Now the lowest priced speakesr I know of that are pretty decent are from Konzert, then Daiichis, then Wharfedales. That's from lowest to not so low.  ;D Now, this hobby is gonna require a lot of patience, some money, and some time. You have to arm yourself with a lot of knowledge for you to make the right decisions that would be right for you, too. PionyDVD is certainly a venue that would be a big help. For the smallest budgets, HTIBs or Home Theater in a Box, would be most feasible. Separates would perform better and would give you more options, but, of course, cost a little bit more. Analog systems are less expensive than system that use digital amps or receivers, then so on and so forth.... My rule of thumb has always been, and it has guided me well, "buy the best technology/equipment that you can afford". There are more answers that can be found here at PDVD to more questions that you have and will have as you get into this hobby more and more, I'm sure the guys here at PDVD will be happy to help. Good luck.  ;)

I have good experience with Daiichi loudspeakers. Kailangan lang ng break in. They manufacture/or use to manufacture products for KEF, Celestion, Klipsch, Cerwin Vega and so on. Check their website:http://www.daiichi.ph/aboutus.htm

What's the current price of DTX 4.12/4.15 right now and where? Or are they still available? I went to Dai-Ichi megamall last Jan 7 and they don't have it on display.

I've read a few pages back that there are owners who have upgraded their DTX's woofer into JBL woofers. Based on the posts, this seems to be a good option if wanting a good sub and short in budget.
