i think its a virtue to take care of your equipment whatever price you bought it...sa yo yan e. ok ang daiichi for the price, pero merong speakers na mas ok...mas mahal nga lang...if you can afford it..go for it, kung hindi..at least ok ang price perfrmance ratio. depends on your priorities man. i would rather not have to lug my speakers to a service center ke malapit or hindi, better take care of it na lang :)

brod, its not the matter of taking care of your gears, lahat naman tayo ginagawa yun diba? logical nalang yun. ang point ko dito is. do you really need to buy such expensive gears just to entertain your self? ciguro sa mga can afford good for them (opnion lang po ito ha? baka may mag violent reaction na naman dyan!) pero sa mga budget wise maybe... pero yung warranty and services is just a side dish of what the true products purpose is "entertainment"...

hindi ko po tinitira ang daiichi, nagsisisi nga ako sa dtx speakers na katulad ng klipsch sb2 na pinakawalan ko, and my speakers with marble enclosure uses a daiichi hifi woofer..and i love the way it sounds :)

thats one hard thing to learn. now you know what you lost...

it ain't hard to learn what you lost, kaya i still have speakers with a marble enclosure using daiichi drivers, kasi implemented properly they can sound good ;)

anyone tried the 8" full range drivers  being sold by daiichi?

Believe me bro, not everything in the site is accurate.

Oh and aah, I think it takes a true gentleman to be able to admit his mistakes, and have the guts to apologize for it. But I don't really think it was a mistake bro. You were just expressing your opinion, maybe you just worded it inaccurately.  ;)

yung naman ang purpose nitong mga gear na ito eh. to entertain me. not to impress others...

I like that perspective too. But to say that Daiichi speakers are not impressive? I think they are. I wouldn't be surprised if any expensive speaker is impressive. Why? Because you paid for it to be impressive. Ano yan? BOSE? (obvious ba na galit sa Bose? Hehehe  ;D) But what is impressive to me, is anything that wouldn't put a hole in your pocket but would stil perform beyond the expectations you have for such a price range. But that's just me.  ;D

sir parehas tayo, thats what I look for not only through speakers but all of my audio gears as well. ang hirap yata kitain ng pero now a days. na biktima na ako ng BOSE before ang pagkakamali ko lang noon at Acoustimas 5 ang nabili ko sana nga yung 301 nalang eh. naloko ako nun dahil sa small size big sound niya. yung pala kulang sa acuracy ang tunog. tapos ang hirap pa mag hanap ng powered subwoofer na magbblend sa kanya. anyways BOSE AM series are different from their box type mukha naman magaganda yung woodtype box speakers nila. yun nga lang it goes down to one thing "overprice"...

anyways agree ako sayo na there is something out there in the market that will entertain you but wouldnt put a hole in your pocket...

john,

i thought you were using an open baffle implementation - that is what I want to see  :D

If I were to pick a dai ichi full range, I will have them power a T-amp and test each candidate with my CD player and material - baka magdala na rin ako ng board to clip-mount each candidate in an open baffle for an audition right at their site.  ;D

YES and NO! Yes if it will bring me pleasure but No if it won't. Don't get me wrong, ang dami ko Dai-Ichi speakers dito sa bahay ngayon but this time the reason I didn't get a Daiichi bookshelf is because hindi ko nagustuhan yun tunog niya. And I would probably not get a Euros din if it won't bring me pleasure kahit na ano pang mura niyan. Kung sabagay ang dami mo sinabi na brands ang speakers na napakinggan mo na and still you are happy with your Euros floorstanders, this is one of the reason why I want to try them out kasi magkaiba naman tayo ng ears and so I can hear it for myself.

john,

using it sa family room...kahit wala pa nalalagyan na finish :-[ nice idea, i can probably test the driver at the showroom powered by a t-amp, kaso i checked the website 88db lang sya...will try when i get the time.

iba pa yata ang readings nila nun eh. bulag pa yata sila noon or hula hula hehehe! pero I think now medyo accurate na yung readings nila. because of the technology kailangan nilang maging accurate other wise yung mga nag papagawa sa kanila ng OEM abroad eh mag baback out, plus awarded na sila ng certificate para sa accuracy ng products nila. I believe one of the Euros owners here tested a Euros 8 for the 50hz readings and according dun sa instument na ginamit niya aided with a computer program eh accurate naman daw. this is because of the comparison between Euros 6 vs. 8 readings dahil meron yata nag inquire...

wow ganda!  :o

your tweeter looks a lot like a Velodyne.  ;D thumbs up!

just for your info. i inquired about that tweeter from Velodyne USA three years ago and according to them, it was commissioned to a Taiwanese firm. there was a problem in specs, so that model (as told) was rejected. i told them it sounds nice and cleaner than many US-made tweeters. i have three pairs of those as back up in case of busts in HF units of my major speakers. incidentally i pulled my tweeter units out of their plastic case (with the Velodyne mark) making them flexible for replacement for other dome-tweeter assemblies.

since this is a Daichi thread, just to share my previous experience. back in early '90s, the company commissioned a European designer to overhaul Daichi's speakers from local-looking to imported-looking, using wood veneer-like covers for boxes liberally. even the drivers changed into units comparable with foreign made. i bought four pairs of different model speaker systems at that time and my impression was that performance and looks indeed improved. however, the LF drivers still can't get down very low and the HF not as clean as some of those made outside. the company got my feedback since i was interested in distributing it in our province, which is another story.

of my 4 pairs, only one - a CB-100 floor stander - is being used now, only for experiment using other drivers and changing x'over circuits. the 3 other smaller units were given away to friends and officemates. for Daichi's price, vis-a-vis performance and looks, i'd say it's a bargain compared with some imported speakers including British-made. still got a few Daichi and China-made LF units here and Daichi, to my ears, sounded better. haven't bought any of the new Daichi speaker systems, however, but i guess they have improved significantly from those sold in late '80s and '90s.

iba pa yata ang readings nila nun eh. bulag pa yata sila noon or hula hula hehehe! pero I think now medyo accurate na yung readings nila. because of the technology kailangan nilang maging accurate other wise yung mga nag papagawa sa kanila ng OEM abroad eh mag baback out, plus awarded na sila ng certificate para sa accuracy ng products nila. mga 3 years old na yata yun speakers na diy ko, i use them as my fronts now (ayan ha daiichi user din ako!) but before it was commisioned for HT it was primarily diy'd for audio. baka nga medyo sablay pa noon ang sensitivity ratings nila. swerte nyo naman at naayos na ang ratings ngayon.

I don't know what test uses 50Hz, baka sa bottom end accuracy yan sinasabi mo hanns but yun concern ko is yun sensitivity, more often it is conducted with 1KHz at 1W and 1 meter. Just the same, maybe in the future ma test natin sa tube yan Euros mo pag hindi na ako veeery busy - I'm in the process of designing a new sub controller and amp for my "Paradigm" clone subwoofer.  ;D

cheers

my former classmate who is now in the US Army gave this to me when he came back for a vacation. I had no use for it at the time but when my daiichi tweeters conked out, I installed them in and they were wonderful, sounds great too.  ;D these speakers are a part of daiichi's 1st generation HT in a box bought back in 1996.

I use them now for testing newly built amps.

best regards

I had no use for it at the time but when my daiichi tweeters conked out, I installed them in and they were wonderful, sounds great too.  ;D these speakers are a part of daiichi's 1st generation HT in a box bought back in 1996.

I use them now for testing newly built amps.

best regards

I had the same type of box dai-ichi before as my center speakers. pero na arbor ni insan. hes still using it right now. matibay pa nga kaysa dun sa def tech niya na pro80. dahil ilang beses na niya pinarepair yung pro80 sa avid dahil laging busted yung midbass drivers. pero yung dai-ichi buong buo pa lalo pa nga daw gumanda yung tunog.
PCCian... kumbento boys!

I still have the center and surround - even the sub. kaso cannibalized na yun sub dahil I upgraded the LF filters from dai-ichi's passive to a fixed active and also they used a 7294 gainclone for the amp pero pinalitan ko din yun amp. yun sub driver na lang at yun box ang natira na orig pero ayus na ayus pa naman.

it's also true na habang tumatagal ay gumaganda tunog... yan nasa pics sobrang bugbog sa pag testing kasi kaya na break-in. kaya kung gusto nyo pa na mas lalung gumanda ang mga dai-ichi ninyo - bugbugin nyo ng bugbugin... huwag kayo matakot - lifetime warranty yan!  ;D ;D ;D

disclaimer: huwag ako sisihin pag nasira ha.  ;D ;D ;D
