Just finished my 5.6 liters cabinet but no damping/stuffing installed yet. Spent 3 hours of listening last night, quite happy with the initial results as compared to my previous cabinet. I have already polyfill for stuffing, browse the net for proper placement in DBR cabinet when i stumbled into this -

an update on my AN12AlNiCo.

installed lining/stuffing last night. tonal balance, very smooth from top to bottom, i can't hear the ragged lines on driver's frequency vs SPL graph that most of diy forum members complained about.

my new cabinet is a combination of CommonSense Audio's 5.6 + fostex DBR. settled on this design as recommended by bro Monreq & from gathering info on DiY forums. low bass output is another frequent complained that i read but not on this build.

aside from the usual descriptions of LF - deep, tight, loud. accurate, articulate, definition of each note being played is equally important.

wish i can share my listening experience thru words, but every time i sit to listen, i forget everything.

to compensate for my weakness in written language, i'm sharing my design, hope this will encourage other DiYers who are hesitant to try FR drivers due to its misconception weak bass response

When a friend told me that he is hesitant to build an FR speaker because of the percieved low LF output, I just told him to listen to my FR, He then told me that it seems that I have a 12inch sub hiding behind my set up after he heard my stereo sing. Hahaha!

same with me bro! dati naka dual sub ako isang 10" at isang 12" nung hindi pa burn in yung kauna-unahang AN ko. Nung ma burn in na I decided to dispose all the subs kasi more than enough na yung bass nung 8" na AN ko and that was before

, ngayon na naka dual AN na ako na 10" and 12" very happy na with the outcome of the SQ not unless katihin sa NEO15 bwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

Highs of AN FR can sound like a soft dome silk tweeter or a ribbon tweeter, depending on the amplifier that is used, pero the best pa rin sir if you audition AN FR para malaman mo sir if magustuhan mo
