Beautiful ensemble and room
Thank you sir.

May I ask what changes/revisions did you make from the original 5.6 box? Bakit hindi mo gusto yung original plan?
Sir, i made a mock-ups of 2.8 & 5.6 cabs as per included plan on the drivers. Ok lang sa 'light' genres, pagdating sa heavy music bitin ako eh. Lacking in punch, kick & slam.

I made mine a DBR, experimented with the division location & hole size, after each tweak - i played the "Dazed & Confused by Led Zep" & that's it. Yung look namanm gusto ko simple pero may identity.

And curious lang ako, parang naging wood cone yung copper phase plug, or mukha lang? :)
Ginawa ko lang yung modeling & rendering sa music server pc ko while listening to music, kaya di ko ma max out ung quality to produce a lifelike results.

Salamat, simula ngayun ikaw ang bagong standard ko pagdating sa DIY.... :) ganda ng gawa nyo, ako drowing pa din hehehe.

Oh ok. Kaya pala si remington puro higante ang mga enclosures niya :)

Actually, akala ko nga totoo yung 3D render mo e, it really fooled me :p

David Dicks' commmonsenseaudio answer to shouty mid of AN Fullrange: http://fullrangespeakers.easyphpbb.com/viewtopic.php?t=19

"It's my feeling that passive notch filters--built inside the speaker--create more problems than they solve. They can impart a slightly dead, dull, dark, and distant quality to the entire frequency spectrum, even though they're only trying to focus on a small part of it.

This comes from the parts used to make up the passive network. Phase problems, loss of efficiency......these are unfortunate consequences of using crossovers. Notch filters are not that much different from normal crossovers. In my opinion, it's one of the main reasons that most modern speakers have such poor sound--complicated crossovers. It may make them test well on paper, but sucks all the life out of the music when you actually listen.

I believe that the absence of any crossover is one of the biggest reasons why fullrange speakers sound so good.

I think it's best to address frequency response anomalies in the electronic domain--when the signal is actually constructed--or with room treatments. I prefer using simple tone controls or a quality equalizer, to make frequency response changes. Some of the new digital equalizers, like those made by Behringer, are very good.

And please keep in mind that these spikes or dips, in the frequency response, are often room--and sometimes equipment--related. It's not a fault or problem with the speaker. Every room is different and a careful and informed listener can 'tweak' his room and his equipment to get the best results.

Also keep in mind that every recording is different. Almost all recording engineers use EQ. They boost some frequencies while they reduce others. A 5K spike in some recordings--or types of recordings, like Rock--may simply be on the recording.....not an inherent characteristic of a speaker.

Remember also, that frequency plots you see are made in anechoic chambers, not in real rooms where people actually listen to music. If you've ever heard music played in an anechoic chamber it's an eery--and unnatural--sound.

The best a speaker designer can do is to build a speaker that works well in most 'typical/average/normal' listening rooms. Whatever that may be! "

^^i disagree, david dicks can not possibly know all of the circumstances
that a diy'er will encounter in the field, his knowledge is limited by his experience...

technically, the AN's are still without cross-overs, they are fed directly from the amplifier....

BSC or tone control are between the preamp/buffer/source and the power amp...
the room resonances that magnifies the mids are best corrected with tone controls....

Barring size and space constraint, what would be the ideal baffle design? I have a AN super 8. More on jazz, but if I can bring out the bass, it would be better.

pag na burn in na yan ng 200 hours at kung tama ang design ng box with proper stuffing... acoustic foam in upper level only in the front, rear, side, and top sides will give a deep natural bass.  Also never forget the treatment in room and never use silver wires when using AN in the set up.

All our speaker models have attributes that solve the common problems associated with conventional speaker systems by engaging the listener, speaker and the room as one, producing the most natural and realistic sound available.

They also provide you with a pure signal path and can give your amp some extra reserve with satisfying volume levels at less than 1/8 of a watt.

With a driver design lifespan of 50 years, our Audio Nirvana range will get even better with age. They will sound better 10 years from now, than they will in 5 years. You will perhaps never need another set of speakers.

tempting bro yung classic 8 alnico.   Pero for me, sa budget at for a new experience, I want to try horn 4 series + back loaded horn box http://www.ebay.com/itm/Back-loaded-horn-Speaker-Box-pair-for-8cm-P800K-FE83En-Japan-import-/191527062338 or diy box from telavox : diy front loaded horn box.  + subwoofer.
AN Horn 4 + horn box + 2 subwoofers = compact size pure audio nirvana   ;)
