Nice game by ginebra. Team effort ang pinakita nila. Nice job by the general. He is perfect for this team!

ginebra played a superb game tonight. however, we must not forget that this is not the same powerade team that made the all filipino cup last year. lassiter and casio are gone. perhaps, bgsm's next game game will be a better gauge at how they might fare this conference.

tenorio, although scoring only two points, still made an impact --- 8 rebounds and 10 assists

Alaska.

part of the trade deal that sent tenorio to bgsm. casio was initially traded to ginebra.

New PBA season ...... new players ...... same old Quinito Henson - probably the most clueless sportscaster .... ever.

Quinito has always had enthusiasm ..... but his very shallow & always-the-obvious analysis; not to mention, his no-imagination player monickers - he's becoming more annoying as the years go by.

============================================================================

BGK's forward lineup is way loaded ...... Maliksi, Ababou, Maierhofer, Ellis, Jensen & Espiritu ...... plus solid vets Hatfield & Wilson.

Tenorio looks to be in high spirits - something he rarely showed with ALASKA the last 2 years.

Wynne "The Snatcher" Arboleda & Alex "The Crunchman" Cabagnot ....... a few of the recent monickers from Quinito Henson's shallow & ignorant mind.  :o

==============================================================

We've seen this many times before with BGK ....... they stack themselves with players from a single position - which results to very inconsistent minutes and very confusing player rotations from Tanquincen or Uichico.

Their forward lineup is ultra-loaded (guards, just a few years ago) ....... big risk that Tanquincen will make the same mistakes again.

Expect him to spread the minutes around, rather than keep a tight one - which champion coaches Tim Cone and Chot Reyes will always do.

BGK should consider trading Espiritu (if the rules allow it) and/or Wilson (while he still has good value).

I'll give those 3 eggheads a pass ..... they did their job of entertaining the PBA's target crowd.  O0

Quinito Henson ...... he's been shallow and clueless for decades now.

^^ and he is presently the scoring leader.

in other news, June Mar Fajardo will be sidelined for a number of games due to a swollen scrotum, which is the result of the blow he received from Marc Pingris. ouch......

Abueva's got 7 points and 11 rebounds with 1 quarter to go.  Malamang double double to.  HERE COMES THE BEAST!!  Abueva gave Washington a mean smirk after nautakan ni Abueva si Washington...

I really like this guy.  Bring back the old PBA Calvin with your kind of rugged play...

WOW!  Abueva just hit 5 straight points and Alaska now on the lead.  That was a follow up tip in over Dorian Pena and then a three point shot on the ensuing play.  Abueva now has 12 PTS, 12 REBOUNDS on his first game as a pro.  This guy is for real!

ALASKA finally unveiled the “Beast,” and the Aces are suddenly looking fearsome again

http://www.philstar.com/SportsArticle.aspx?articleId=861453&publicationSubCategoryId=69

“It’s just nice to have Calvin as he brings so much to the team energy-wise. He can play all 1-2-3-4-5 spots. It’s just how you use him. He’s a special breed,” said Trillo of Abueva.

In other words, parang LEBRON JAMES! ;D

In San Sebastian ( where I hated him like the plague ), he played practically the whole 48 minutes but in Alaska, he is paced well and gets quality minutes.  Tama lang na sa PBA na ito.  Ang daming papogi sa PBA masyado nawala na yung dating sigla.  With Abueva around, we get that old "Jawo" gladiator style of game.

Exactly sana bumalik na ung dati.. I remember, patrimonio, asaytono, paras, locsin, etc.. They're nice off the court, pero when playing bangga kung bangga.. They hurt their opponents thru scoring hard.. Naging finesse nung 2000s, di na madefine ung totoong power- power forward, suddenly all are taking 3s na..

another win and 16-12 performance from Abueva.. this time, 16pts 12 rebs in 23 mins.. better shooting as well..

the rookies this year have been impressive especially the unheralded ones.. Global's triumvirate of AJ Mandani, Jason Deutchman and Vic Manuel are proving that they belong in the league.. Raffy Reyes of Alaska (son of Elmer Reyes) is a pretty good back-up.. good outside shooter, strong, can really jump and a pesky defender.. quality minutes binibigay every game..

Ginebra badly needs a new coaching staff...
4 straight losses is a very dismal performance for a team with such talent...

tsk tsk tsk ???

Congrats to Alaska...
Baguio, Casio, Jazul and Abueva are starting to gel. Other teams should start worrying... ;D

Ginebra now on a 4-game losing streak while Alaska in a 4-game winning streak.. Abueva just missed another double-double with 19pts-9rebs and no TOs in 29mins .. very efficient game from Calvin..

ang gulo ng opensa ng Ginebra.. they've got no post game.. wala silang consistent shooters.. pick and roll nila magulo din.. panget rin ng spacing kaya di effective ang dribble-drive..

Like I said, same old mistakes for BGK ...... minutes are spread around like crazy, without any player getting consistent minutes.

Champion coaches like Tim Cone & Chot Reyes won't care about player or fan sensitivities ..... they'll keep their rotations tight and short, despite their loaded rosters.

Blame falls on everyone here ..... Tanquincen for making his best impression of Jong Uichico's WTF rotations, Noli "Lover Boy" Eala for the never-ending tinkering of the lineups ...... and the players, for their very uninspired play versus ALASKA.
