Jeric Teng could be a perfect fit with Alaska at the off guard position.
At ROS there's Jeff Chan, Ryan Aranya, Chris Tiu so too many off guards to have sufficient playing time.
Perhaps Teng can be traded for Buenafe to benefit both teams.

Teng won't be a perfect fit at Alaska. He's more potent in a free-wheeling system that RoS has. In a sort of triangle offense that Alaska runs, he's not going to be much of an impact player.

Yeng will be able to find playing time for Teng. Nagagamit nga niya sina Jaime at Uyloan, si Teng pa kaya.

Jeric Teng would have been drafted higher had he played for either ADMU, DLSU, or San Beda.

Picking Sumalinog over Mike Silungan means school ties mean a heckuva lot.

Buenafe going to Alaska was definitely the surprise of the draft.

Romeo, RR Garcia, and Salva on one team can make for awkward practice sessions.

Terso should have been drafted. He's a hardworking kid.

Trinity U did not have a single player drafted.

How's this for showing the love for your ninong at SMCorp ..... Mikee Romero is a Danding/Ang lackey as well.

GLOBALPORT gives up a few future 2nd rounders for BGK's 2014 1st round draft pick

2nd round picks are almost always useless in a shallow draft ...... and giving up a 1st round pick in a potentially top-heavy draft featuring Parks, Banchero, Pringle, Tautaa, etc is ridiculous ..... or i$ it?  ;)

if i read the story right, it is not good for global port. they traded their first round pick for 2014 in exchange for the 2016 and 2017 2nd round picks of BGSM. so, this favors ginebra.

My bad ... got the 2 teams mixed-up.

BGK gives up a few future 2nd rounders for GPORT's 2014 1st round draft pick

Ray Parks is the known commodity, yet a loaded PBA team would probably pick Banchero, Pringle or Tautaa ahead of him ...... the 2014 draft has the potential to be top-heavy.

On the contrary, Jeric will have more playing time with Alaska and the triangle offense will get him goin with his outside shooting due to proper spacing.
Anyway Alaska did get its chances to draft Jeric but they figured it out that Buenafe will benefit the team more than the other still undrafted players.
But come to think of it Ryan will also be good with the triangle coz of his passing skills and his trade mark of being a clutch player who is fearless to take the big shots when needed most.

Should Ray Parks leave for the USA to follow his NBA dream, good for him and the rest of us ....... we need guys like him trying to break barriers - hopefully, the first Filipino to play in the NBA.

Gotta give props to the RAIN or SHINE (RoS) team.

Much like ALASKA, RoS builds their team the right way - via the rookie draft, free-agency and legitimate trades; all the while following the league salary cap rules.

EXTRA-RICE Inc:  Belga-Quinahan-Cruz

YANG-CHOW RICE Inc:  Tiu-Tang-Teng-Lee-Chan (on the sidelines are Guiao, Jao, Que & Yu)

 ;D

Sir NWB,
May news update na ba regarding Belga's new contract with RoS?
If I remember correctly, nag-decline ata siya sa previous offer ng Ros.
Thanks :)

Belga has already agreed to a new contract with RoS management ......... RoS didn't give him the max contract, but gave him a hefty pay increase compared to his old contract (near max for the 3rd & last year).

Belga has no where to go except to stay with ROS since he's given the minutes to improve his game which he did so of course an increase in salary is just worth it.
Champion team din naman ang ROS and always a contender so no better way to go except to stay put unless he's traded.

taken from that interaksyon article

Quote
“It’s a collective decision. We want to get players whom we’ve seen playing in the PBA so we traded our rookie picks,” said the Barako Bull executive.

letting go of potential franchise/all-star players in favor of getting 3rd string players/benchwarmers who have barely even played the last few conferences. ibang klase, best front office in the league na 'to! smh.

One will run out of fingers when counting the number of grossly lopsided trades that BARAKO has done with SMCorp teams.

Just recently ...... BARAKO trades its top gun Allain Maliksi to SMC in exchange for absolute scrubs Wesley Gonzales & Cris Pacana.

It's long overdue that BARAKO & AIR21 fold-up and just leave the PBA.

PHOENIX Petroleum seriously wanted to enter the PBA a few seasons ago - only to be shot down by the PBA Board led by SMCorp and Bert Lina's franchise.

i wish we see the day that fans will be the one to drive changes in the PBA, I wish the day would come that  fans will not longer watch the games and air their side on this matter, until then the PBA will remain to be purely business in an out,

Justin Chua & Leo Najorda(SMC) for Isaac Holstein (Global Port)

ok na din para mabigyan ng playing time former NCAA MVP (Najorda) and overloaded na din ang rooster ng SMC

madami naman na nakakapansin sa ginagawa ng San Miguel Corp. it's all over social media. may nag-raise pa ng incident about Barako Bull management being beholden to SMC because of the tie up they presently have (SMC distributing the products of Barako Bull) kaya "pumayag" ang barako bull na i-trade ang kanilang 4th, 5th and 6th first round draft picks. i just hope tablan ng hiya si Salud.

barako's move is, for me, beyond logic. giving up three talented rookies for bench warmers, ageing and oft-injured players. i could not convince myself that it is a build up.

Honestly, kahit na Ginebra fan ako, di ko din gusto how things were manipulated during the draft, and even before that, even if these manipulations favored BGSM. it's about time na i-limit ulit sa dalawa lang ang team ng isang corporation. noong araw, bihirang-bihira ang mga trades. ang kung magkaroon man, usually one is to one lang, or one player for one future draft pick. at least that's what i recall.

I really hope that the board members from Alaska, Meralco, TNT and RoS would question the recent moves by Barako. Illogical talaga eh. They traded all their 1st rd picks but they used their 2nd-5th rd picks. They let Toroman go. They've got 27 players right now vying for spots. Not one of them is a player you can build a team around. Barako should explain their ties to SMC as well. San Miguel distributes Barako energy colas. And now, Koy Banal, an assistant to Petron last season and San Mig Coffee before that, has been moved to Barako.

I think even Danny Seigle doesn't get what Barako is doing that's why he declined the new contract they offered. Punta na lang siyang TNT or Alaska. He could still put up decent numbers coming off the bench.

** There's some buzz that TnT is talking to Danny Seigle for a spot on the team ...... if he wants decent playing time for a competing franchise, then TnT is the best case scenario for Seigle right now.

** GPORT trades draftee Holstein to SMC for draftee Chua & Najorda ..... Tim Cone finally gets that bigman who will undergo the same training that Thoss, Juinio, etc went through.

** Even a tycoon like MVP has given his 2-cents worth on the latest BARAKO firesale ..... like the rest of the nation (except Comm. Cheato Salud), he is disgusted.

** Businessmen can learn a thing or two from pimps like George Chua & Bert Lina ..... selling players and/or draft rights is a very lucrative business.

Both Chua & Lina has seen their core businesses take massive hits (AGFA products getting obsolete, RED BULL dropping them as local distributor, SMARTMATIC debacle, BURGER KING debacle, FEDEX leaving Clark, etc) but they struck gold by running ragtag PBA teams, losing, then selling players to SMCorp teams.

Its an open secret that Arwind Santos was sold by AIR21 to SMCorp for P20M.
