After 2 years, my AC Ryan POHD conked out.  Would not boot, usb not working, HDD can't be accessed thru the PC.  Had to send it to SnS for evaluation.  Crossing my fingers or maybe its really time to get a new one.  So 2 years for me. Considering A300 or R300.

3 years old na yung xtreamer ko. Malapit na mag 4.  Ok pa naman. Usually 1 movie every night, and marathon on weekends. Sana di pa masira. Hehehe.

going strong pa din naman ang 1st ever media player ko, which is HDPro, 3.5 years na din ngaun.  mas nauna pang nasira yung wdtv ko, 1 year lng sira agad, hehe. so far, more or less, 2.5 to 3 years na mga players ko, from HDPro, PCH, Kaiboer. :)

My very first media player was a WDTV Live, bought it November 2009 and still going strong.

I thought it was already saying it's goodbyes after a year of use when the picture starts to stutter... luckily and thankfully to the threads here at PinoyDVD, I was told to try a firmware update and to my surprise my "stock" WDTV was still v1.0 and the firmware update solved the stuttering.

The mede8er 300X I won during the Christmas EB of 2010 is still ok, but it's power supply conked out after a year of use. I modified an old PC PSU to power it and to power ALL my external HDDs so they all have one central PSU now.

My 4-year old POPCORN HOUR A110 is still going strong ..... though have upgraded to A300 for the 2nd setup.

The only big issue I ever had with A110 was the slow boot-up & navigation ..... of course, this was all after using much faster REALTEK NMT's and my A300.  :D

Oh, one more issue with my A110 - the remote control had a nice solid feel to it, but it's back rubber finish doesn't age well ...... the rubber finish becomes sticky through time and will accumulate a good amount of dirt.

My Briteview Cinematube is now 2 years old. Works seemlessly until now. Normal uptime is about 4 hours daily for playing FLACs. HD movie marathons on weekends. No plans of upgrading anytime soon. ;-)

Got my first PCH-A200 in March 2010.  2.5 years na pala pero may plastic pa rin sa top surface and the remote control.  I still find the PCH remote freakin ugly sa top face but other than that, it's very reliable especially for the demanding contents I like to watch.  The internal drive bay remains virgin as I dont like to install HDDs internally.   My last FW update was in May 2011 when full BD Navigation was enabled - haven't found the need to upgrade the FW since - I dont even know kung meron FW upgrade.

Hope it doesnt conk out for 2.5 more years.

If you are to ask me Philip, yung files mo ang problem.  Hehehe.  I know the Realteks can possibly play those problematic files though.  hehehe

Kaya nga.  I think mas flexible sa non-mkv files ang Realtek (with my previous Med500x for instance), but sa needs ko, the PCH is better - not perfect, but very reliable.  Kung walang sound si MIELA (aka Mary Queen), I just switch to PC or silent movie...hehehe.

Did you try na ibalik sa older FW yung A200 mo?  It's very easy...same same procedure as update.

There are two answers to your question.  If you mean lifespan as in "how long do they last before they physically break?" then they last a long time.  Depende sa paggamit.  Mine still works after 2 years.

If you mean "how long before they get outdated" then my egreat NMT got outdated after 2 years.  It can't properly play the latest files.  Majority of new files won't even play at all.  It CAN STILL play older files (files that were coded by older software).  The new files it can play are files that are coded at 720p.

Pumipitik na rin ang Kaiboer Kxxx ko (around 2yrs of usage). Minsan stereo out lang kahit surround yung audio, minsan hindi nag rerespond sa remote. I need to reset the unit to make it work again.
