Check the fan and declog for dirt, replace if heat related but isolate mo :

Test long playback with a fan with   the enclosure off  to isolate if it's heat related, and if yes Reapply thermal paste.

did further tests today and it seems it shuts down whenever i have my 2gb external drive connected. but if i use the internal drive and a 1tb external drive, it runs ok

Is your 2tb working before and now it doesn't it ?  Is it Seagate?

before my NMT setup was it had an internal 1.5tb, one 1tb external (western digital) and another 2tb external (western digital). it worked fine before but now whenever i plug in the 2tb hdd it just keeps shutting down even when i remove the other external drive and the internal drive.

btw, the 2tb works fine on my laptop and connected directly to the tv.

Still using my Popcorn Hour C200 till now. Bought October 2012. :)
But it has been returned to HK for repairs 2x now. 1 for wifi issues and another for board issues.
All free except shipping, despite out of warranty. Nice service.

For local purchase,  must go thru where u purchased it.
I purchased mine in Hk,  from popcorn hour talaga.

But try mo,  open a support ticket in www.cloudmedia.com.
Register ka lang sa http://support.cloudmedia.com/

Then state your problem,  they will troubleshoot. If they can't fix.. They will ask you to send your motherboard in.
If you have relatives in HK,  they can mail it in HK,  para cheaper. If not,  post office dito,  bayad ka lang.  5%+12%vat upon return of package.

Same here mine is Med8ter naman.

My Minix X7 was with me for 4 years before I sell it. It had no issues whatsoever, except its limitations against the newer movie files. Thus, I bought a Minix U1, which is more powerful and I think I have to stick with this brand since its support is awesome...

Mga bros ano kaya problem. I have 2 external hdd: 1tb & 2tb. They're both connected sa media player been using more than 3 yrs now. Just last night yung 1tb reads fine but when you click the movie button there's no content. Tried the 2tb & it works well. I interchange the USB slot just the same. But when I directly connect the 1tb sa tv directly it works well. Ano kaya.problema? Tia

If sa akin nangyari yan check ko muna yung hdd for virus or malware. Pag clear naman itransfer o icopy ko muna contents sa isa pang hdd then check the malfunctioning hdd again to check if may virus o malware using other anti-virus programs. Pero be wary na natransfer din yung virus doon sa bago. Recently napasukan ng drive.bat malware yung 2 of my hdds. Ang hirap alisin nung virus I had to get assistance to remove it. It creates batch files, hides your files then ultimately dinedelete yung contents. Kalahati lang naisalba ko. Now the "cleaned" hdds are showing some defects.

My Popcorn hour units are still working PERO I've had to replace the power supply 2x on the C200 and I've worn out the remotes so I had to buy new ones.

However with recent technology changes, I've begun to decommission them (powered-off) and only power them on when I need them. Newer Kodi boxes use less power, play newer formats and are "disposable". I don't think I'll ever pay more than US$100 for another media player again unlike these old units which costs me a lot more back in 2010.

Does your player have filters? Sometimes it happens accidentally and it filters and then only makes visible media formats you specify.

That seems to be the trend lately. Disposable electronics.

I have my WDhdtv media player with source two 1tb hdd since 2008 until now its working fine except I already replaced the power supply. I'm using it for watching tons of movies and my fav tv series every single day downloaded from torrent site (kickass/fenopy/piratebay/extratorrent). The only problem that I have it doesn't play HEVC format. :( its time to upgrade nmt ;D
