Love triangles in Philippine Movies
« on: Dec 02, 2012 at 02:53 AM »
Love triangles seems to be in vogue again, following the success of last year's No Other Woman, and the more recent A Secret Affair.
Shall we reminisce about memorable love triangles in movie memories of the past?
The surprising twist in the final scene between Maricel Soriano and Angelica Panganiban, who fought over Aga Muhlach, in Maryo J. delos Reyes' A Love Story(2007).
The tense and awkward (and endlessly dramatic) scene inside a car on a rainy evening, when Bea Alonzo joins her ex-lover John Lloyd Cruz and his new girlfriend Maja Salvador in Cathy Garcia-Molina's One More Chance (2007).
Lorna Tolentino inadvertently getting rid of rival Alma Concepcion in the most tragic way possible, in Maryo J. delos Reyes' Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-ibig (1996).
Siblings Snooky Serna and Maricel Soriano goes mano-a-mano over the most unthinkable focus of amore you can imagine, in Carlitos Siguion-Reyna's Inagaw Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin (1995).
The montage showing the anguished lovers Christopher de Leon and Alice Dixson in separate shots/locations, as they prepare to elope, in Maryo delos Reyes' My Other Woman (1990).
Jackie Lou Blanco and Sharon Cuneta swapped notes about jewelries in Eddie Garcia's My Only Love (1982).
Dindo Fernando rejects wife Hilda Koronel as he mourns over the dead body of lover Vilma Santos in Danny Zialcita's Gaano Kadalas Ang Minsan? (1982).
Vilma Santos stormed off from Zandro Zamora in disgust over alien/apparent rival Rossanna Ortiz, in Armando Garces' Darna vs The Planet Women (1975).
Gloria Diaz get mauled by Elizabeth Oropesa and company without the benefit of a proper aesthetic cover from an underwear in Celso Ad. Castillo's Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop Sa Balat Ng Lupa (1974).
